I attended and it was a wonderful experience. The fans were great, the theater was great and the concert was fantastic from start to finish. Toby had mentioned in another interview that they had recorded 8 songs together priorto the release of Old Enough. So there is some more magic out there someday.❤
Hey Robert, I was curious about something in the concert - what did Angelina say once her teacher left the stage... something about a party watch, I think. I'm trying to understand what the transition, if any, there was from the teacher segment to the next song, "What Am I To You".
@LeoS I was back in row K and people throughout the theater were reacting primarily to the emotional response of Angelina in the moment. It was very touching. I sat next to the teacher's friends and they were telling me what a lovely person Angelina was at that moment. There was another emotional buzz in the crowd when Angelina's cousin came up near the stage at one point. The whole thing seem like a family gathering, lovely and spontaneous but confusing at times.
It sounds like a lovely evening with Angelina, her family and all her friends. I agree, the segment with her teacher looked rather confusing. As for the spontaneity, I am not so sure about that. I do think though that it was spontaneous for the teacher :) Regardless, at the end what counts is that what Angelina felt about her teacher was very real.
I think Toby blaming Angelina for the song not making it to Old Enough was a mistake. My understanding is that it was the labels decision on what songs would be on the EP.
Toby didn't blame Angelina because Toby is a professional and knows that Republic Records made the decision with the EP songs, 6 of them. Toby wrote 8 additional songs, the best of which was apparently Bad Valentine. If they had produced all the songs it would have been an LP with at least 14 songs!
