Stay at home, close military bases abroad, do not continue to provoke wars in the rest of the world and no one "rightly" will have to attack you to defend their rights
We drove from the Austin area to Midland (~6hrs) to see this show. It was awesome & so worth it. The pilot was a woman with tons of flying hours, including combat hours. She's also an instructor. Thank you to all who have served.
In the late ‘80s I worked for Fairchild Republic I fabricated aluminum skins and other aluminum parts needed for the A-10. I’ve seen live combat videos when the pilot mashes the trigger for the Gatling Gun everything gets destroyed. BBBBBRRRRRRR Enough Said. Saved many ground troops bacon I’m told! Thank you for your service keeping this 68 yr old man and my family safe!
Went year after year to Myrtle Beach with the wife and kids when the A-10's were stationed there. Loved seeing them cruising up and down the beach. Military powers that be are making a big mistake wanting to shelve the A-10.
Personally. As a retired navy veteran. I think it's a HUGE mistake to end the life of A10's. Our troops who have shed blood, and given their lives for this Country KNOW...The A10 is the BOSS.
Designed to deal out punishment, take a ton of punishment, and get the pilot home. Best warbirds ever! Of course the government wants to discontinue this remarkable craft.
Saw 4 A10s over the Yorkshire Dales, UK, late 1980s. Nose to tail, circling in the slowest, tightest formation I've ever seen in over 50 yrs of plane watching. The drone of their engines every bit as impressive as the flying.
I'm a civilian but I think the A10 is one of the coolest weapons ever. Game changing life saving machines. The look of military business and looks really mean.

Great footage. That show is the last time I'll likely see the A10 fly. I used to watch the demo team at the TICO air show when I was a kid. Fun and sad at the same time.
I grew up near Myrtle Beach AFB in the 70s & 80s. That turbine sound was the soundtrack of daily life. Occasionally, other fighter jets like the F-15 & F-16 would visit for a few days & rattle our windows, which made us appreciate our far quieter, hometown A-10s. As a kid, I remember A-10s not getting much respect, but that all changed after the Gulf War in 1990. We were sad to see them go when the base closed in 1993.
Live in Kalamazoo nex5 to the Air Guard in Battle Creeek, it is always been a joy to watch these marvelous birds fly over. What a testament to American ingenuity.
Taste is all in people's mouth. The A10 is on of the best looking fighters ever conceived, stands out, and exceeded in purpose. The A10 was purpose built for close-in support and she does that better than any other platform built and scares anyone on the wrong end of it. The A10 is perfect.
You need to be the pilot - it's a single seater! Just happened to read an article about this pilot yesterday, she was talking about training a bunch on a simulator before ever getting in the plane - and then having to train in groups on the many switches & controls in the cockpit, from the most needed to the least.
The only sound the bad guys hear is the "Brtttttt", then they meet their maker! Son was an 82nd Joe in Iraq and Afghanistan, and said the Hawg is the ground Joe's best friend!
Last A-10 I performed maintenance on was around 2012 before that Unit switched to Drones. One of the A-10’s we had went to the Demo Team while the others got flown to other Air Bases. I wish I remembered the tail number. Anyways, I certainly had a good time with those planes.

On our way to the Andrews AFB air show in the mid-80's, we parked on a road that paralleled the runway, offset by a 1/4 mile or so. From behind us perhaps 200 ft. directly above, two A-10s went into a banking climb....... as the load shifted to one side of each plane, so did the phase of the sound from the....... I mean MUSIC from the engines :) It was quite incredible. I've never figured out why if I hear turbofan engines it's such an engaging sound...... but that phase shift as the fans slow as they bank is quite musical. Fans of guitarist extraordinaire Robin Trower's tone know the ethereal "phase shifter" sound. A more pronounced effect, called "flanging" was allegedly discovered while dubbing tape with Jimi Hendrix' solos and other tracks on a second tape deck onto a master tape. A technician accidentally touched one of the tape reels (the "flange"), causing a slight change in the synchronized signals. It's not too unlike the phenomenon of one engine fan slowing relative to the other. Funny thing I live perhaps 5 miles from the Maryland Air National Guard base in Baltimore and have never seen any of our A-10 squadron flying.

And the army would also get the afs part of the budget for a10s as well. Better to put the tools into the system that needs it, wants it, and uses it.
I just wish the Airforce would come to their senses about getting rid of the A-10 Warthog. There's never been a plane that can fill the shoes of this beast.
