I deliver over 2000 business cards per month for my painting business. Small enough to keep a bunch in my pocket while delivering. Small enough to be passed on to neighbours or relatives. When i paint the outside of a house where customers see me i deliver cards to the whole street before I leave. My diary is always full. I turn away work constantly. Banana print is the cheapest company. 2000 cards only cost 50 quid. Ill never stop delivering cards.
Now, that is targeted marketing- there is something about a physical card or flier that beats an online advert, everyone knows that the internet is full of scammers and there is little word of mouth advertising (unless you trust bots!). I've done painting and decorating, a little gardening, too in the past and you are selling yourself as an honest individual trustworthy to enter someone's house as much as you are selling your services- word of mouth is the best free advertising you can get.
@@alexmousley7213 Exactly my man. A card is pinned to the notice board and doesn't take up much space then the customer calls when they need you. Where else can I get an advert that a customer must physically interact with to either bin it or keep it at that price? Pennies. The good thing about painting is that the house itself is an advertisement that they need your services. If there's flaking paint you are 50% in the door. Usually instead of posting a card I knock those ones and introduce myself. A multi pronged attack at all times
Love that you're going out and trying these side hustles/businesses and documenting them unlike alot of the big 'gurus' that just talk talk talk but don't actually demonstrate anything. For the mobile car wash it might have been worth starting off doing friend's or family member's cars for super cheap/free but film cleaning the cars (before & after with some testimonials if possible) for tiktok, IG/FB ads etc. Then doing a targeted leaflet drop (I use ebay for printing thicker leaflets for cheap) and also posting in local FB groups etc you can reference/link your social media so people can see examples of your work, testimonial videos from happy customers etc...? Anyway, hope this video does well and your channel continues to grow 🚀🚀🚀
Thanks for coming down, it was awesome to have you! If you re-visit the Mobile car washing then I would be happy to spend time with you setting up Facebook ads, as I run our own Adverts on META platforms with great results. Really enjoyed the rest of the video, I've not been to a car boot sale in about 7 years so it was very reminiscent to watch you sell and barter with people. Keep up the great work!
Makes sense tbh. Ppl in the UK don't drive as much & drive have little hatchback commuter cars they don't really care about. U.S. houeholds tend to have multiple cars & thus, more opportunity for this.
You’re a boss bro, I been watching for a whileeee now since the iPhone videos. Always entertaining and gassed when I see you post. You will do well on YT soon, I would bet money on that.
Another Brilliant video. It would be interesting to see these items sold on eBay. A lot of profit could be made since these were accumulated for free and people are willing to spend more online, but the fees are problematic.
I really enjoy watching your videos- your editing and interviewing of established businesses in the niche is really interesting as is your own experiences trying side hustles. When it comes to "dumpster diving"- there are quite a few people who do this in the UK, some concentrate on food and rarely need to buy any- or give it to homeless people (in date and sealed, and, if refridgerated, still cold when found). Some go to charity shop bins, some concentrate on retail or a mixture. Legally it's a grey area, but asking permission is preferable and do not enter a building to take anything (it's technically burgulary). I think car boot sales are great to get rid of unwanted items, not great as a seller trying to make much money. Though a source for ebay sellers who know the value of things- that's a major side-hustle!
Thanks for the comment 🙏🏿 & yeah dumpster diving is such a hit & miss in the UK, seems pretty bigger in America! 100% carboot sale is hard to turn a profit that makes it worth while
I’ve seen someone make good money from washing cars but they were only washing only £100k+ luxury cars and doing detailing. Not an easy thing to start as all word of mouth and trust. Eventually came out with their own garage + cleaning products though. Riches in niches
With the diving, if you add in how many hours one can waste. If you add in how long it took to find good enough stuff to sell and the time from open to close at the market, your probably looking at 1-3 pounds an hour. To make this profitable, i could guess finding tv, microwaves, smart phones, and stuff like (that work) that to boost £ per hour.
There are ways for it to be profitable, with a lot of luck and knowing where to dive (from what I've seen of others doing in on Facebook), but most do it because they hate seeing perfectly good things going to landfill, it more a hobby than a business to many.
@@alexmousley7213 to maximize profits, it's simple, go to wealthier neighborhoods and either dive there, or go to the consignment stores near by, buy some goods, then go back there and sell at a profit.
