My thought is that this will be the layout of Radar and Camera's:
HD Radar
1 Positioned in the Front Bumper, obviously.
Camera Layout (5MP):
2 Front Facing Camera's, both located in the Front Bumper or possibly 1 in each Headlight.
2 Front Fender Camera's (1 in each Fender).
2 Forward Facing Windshield Camera's.
2 B Pillar Camera's (1 in each B-Pillar).
2 Rear Facing Camera's both located in the Rear Bumper or possibly 1 in each Taillight.
1 Rear Bumper Backup Camera (current location).
Total of 11 Cameras (not included above is 1 interior occupant Camera).
Yes, it is true that somebody purchasing a new vehicle may be disappointed that shortly afterward the product is updated/improved, and maybe even less expensive. However this is true of any technology, for example: computers, televisions, smart phones, etc. Tech it seems is continually improving and getting less expensive with time, but we all end up having to buy at some point, even knowing this will happen.
At this point , when do you think they will start installing hw4 into model Y in Germany ?
If it isn't significantly more powerful, then it should use less energy, not more.
I'll only get my MYLR this June. I'm a bit worried though, I think Elon even mentioned hw4 would be more capable when it comes to driving safer than a human. Since I did order with fsd I would want the full thing that they promised years ago, and it sounds like that is not going to be really possible for hw3.

Not really sure what was the great profit Tesla made in the meanwhile removing USS in such a hurry before this hardware update came in. After all they even reduced the prices so drastically in the last month.
There are a few savings: the sensors, wiring and harnesses, fitting them into bumpers, etc. Unlikely but possible there were shortages which could have affected production. Nice plus is one less thing to be replaced in an accident.

Let’s face it Tesla Cars are like Apple phones the latest and greatest is the current one till of course till the next on lands. They need to tackle repair and insurance costs s well and advance the hardware and software. Plus the fit and finish is still poor periodically. New X ludicrous and the panel gaps atrocious on a £120k plus Car.
lol the truth!!! Tesla will have alot of cancellations if no HW4 thats the truth. Truth Tesla will need to dump these cars with price fall.
