There’s a reason Orji simulated Milroe ahead of the Bama game and was used in both CFP games. He’s a beast who’s still unpolished like JJ was, but like JJ can be coached up by Campbell. Hope he gets his shot this year as he’s well suited to the UM smash mouth option offense.

    • @brettk9316

He simulated because Milroe isn't a real QB just am athlete who is playing QB position. BOB said he should of switched positions and definitely should have but they lost Saiyin so Bama stuck with that QB now.

There was never a question of the departures on the offensive side however the backups received quite a lot of playing times since the the departing players rarely played in the fourth quarter. The defense however is stacked and should be one of the best defenses in college football next year.

Run plays with two QB's on the field at the same time. Run reverses that use certain QB's running abilities to the greatest effect. Do the unexpected, as the Michigan offense will have so many new players. Opposing defenses won't be as prepared for these new players.

I had assumed that Denegal was a more statue-esque pocket passer and will be pleasantly surprised if he does show an ability to get to the edge with the ball in his hands. However, I think it comes down to Orji and Davis.
Davis is going to show extreme poise for a freshman and that he is capable, and willing, to play within himself and, yes, “manage the game.” Orji is going to run over people and give the offense a surprising amount of diversity in the running game alone. Much like the service academies, if Orji can hit on the occasional deep ball, he’s going to be a problem.

Pretty decent analysis, I mean I didn't agree with every point but I think you did a good job of pointing out the pics and pans between each of the quarterbacks that have had a minute to shine on the scrimmage line behind JJ mccarthy, who is now opted to head off to the NFL and of course we all wish him the best - he should have stayed one more year at least, but it is...
As for Alex Orji, I've seen some tape him, and he can be accurate I think he just needs to work on mechanics but he threw some absolute bombs that were absolutely threading some needles and I think if he can focus on past accomplishments doing that it'll be a guiding light for him to be able to form it up and handle business...
Denegal is another guy that I think is a fantastic hybrid, Jim was playing it safe with him in case they need a a larger bodied pocket passer, but the game is far past that now no one is willing to risk their O-line any more the way they used to without guards and tackles who are over dedicated to trying to protect the quarterback who couldn't scramble eggs.
    That game is done
Well, Moore has his work cut cut out for him... That's for sure
I'm interested to see him hush the naysayers about the attrition...

Bro failed to mention that Orji did not attempt a single pass during these "significant" snaps last season. Orji is lightyears behind Milroe. Milroe is a genuine heisman candidate for a reason. Orji is a glorified runningback. He is going into his third year and has thrown the ball in a game one time for five yards. Give Jadyn Davis the start in my opinion he has the highest ceiling (idk about drew brees...) and talent by far in my opinion. I can see a 2 QB system being used next season. However with no proven playmakers at WR to bail out the QB I think this will be a run heavy offense that will also rely heavily on the TE position when passing the ball. Offense will have its struggles early on especially if OL room is not rebuilt. Depth across the board is also scary.

The word is Orji is a thrower with an incredible arm, while Denegal is a passer whose accuracy just keeps getting better.
I think Jayden Davis will be an apprentice in his first year. So, I think this is a battle between Orji and Denegal.
Orji is a physical specimen. Yes. Very much like Milroe. Good runner but mediocre passer.
For that reason, the slightly more svelte Denegal, who's a capable runner and better passer is my pick for next Michigan QB.
I would actually like to see Orji move to WR. Think of the possibilities.

@Darrentalksball I wrote this, and moments later, you repeated almst exactly what I wrote. I didn't just regurgitate your words. You and I appraise these QBs nearly the same.
Player ratings have to be parced a bit. Consider how ridiculous it is that our "Mr. Ohio" RB recruit is only rated a 4 star.

Hell yeah, let's roll with the guys we have. Nobody in the portal is going to be better right away. Plus that would be kind of a slap in the face and might cause them to leave U-M. The only problem is fans haven't seen these guys on the field much. When they do, that will be the end of the transfer talk.

I think Orji has the highest sealing in collage football. He could win the Heisman. He could also be so bad that he becomes some kind of running back or other position but he does have that sealing!

when you think Orji, think Vince Young. Or..even Milton. great physical skills, but can't think the game like many. Orji is better suited as a tight end, or defensive end. QB, he hasn't shown he can throw with accuracy, pace, or thought. Can he be coached up? Sure, but, what's his ceiling? I don't think its that high for him. Yes, talented runner, a beast, but, not a game manager.

    • @Morassabe
      @Morassabe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Playing time does not = trust, by the coaching staff. its a staff that is continually looking at what each player can do. You'll note, they never put orji in to pass. Only to run, and typically on unimportant downs. Orji will not be our QB next year. We will either get someone thru the portal, OR, they will Jayden Davis. Denegal is also not a great QB yet. He might at some point..but not right now. Needs time. None of our current QB's should start, we should try to find someone in the portal with experience. Davis is too young, and raw, Orji and Denegal are both atheletes, not QB's. Just my two cents.

Orji or bust. Dog needs to be in accuracy school right now along with his regular schooling. It's no reason he shouldn't be with the best coaches getting his mechanics together and his touch.

Yes, Michigan's next starting QB is already on campus - it's so disrespectful to say otherwise with those 3 capable QBs that have been there waiting very patiently for their opportunity to be Michigan's starting QB! There's absolutely no reason to go to the Transfer Portal, unless between the 3 of them it's shown that they're not talented at all - which is not the case. If Alex Orgi's accuracy is not an issue he would be the best one to choose as a starter because running QBs are the hardest to defend from a Defensive Coordinator's point of view.

I think it was more that his run game was so elite that when you are putting in a package for a part time player you are going to put in the package that is best for him. Not saying he can pass. I’m just saying that just cause a coach didn’t do something doesn’t mean a player can’t do it.
