This was clearly the best UM team in the modern era but as a UM fan I can acknowledge their have been significantly more dominant Chip runs in the CFP era. As much as it pains me to say Suckeye, LSU (I'm sure one of the Bama teams) and UGA had more dominating championship runs IMO.
I agree with everything you said, except for D. Edwards being better than Blake Corum.. BC's vision was impeccable and never took a loss of yardage, he was way more elusive than DE also.. DE does have more speed and homerun ability but in this offense, BC was the perfect back.. I definitely think DE is ready though to take the RB1 position and I'm expecting a big year from him

Edwards needs to improve his vision and running through tackles, Blake was exceptional at those things on an every down basis

The biggest thing with this team, will be like last year, team play, depth and knowing who you are and what you want to do. Unlike last year's schedule they will not have a lot of time to figure that out. They have a great system, culture and coaching now. They know who they are and what they want to do, which is more than most teams can say. So many people doubted them last year. I sure it will be the same this year.

They are definitely always solid in the trenches, where it all starts. As an Ohio State fan I would not overlook the defending nat'l champions. They relish being underdogs . If the QB and playmakers evolve, don't sleep on TTUN. But obviously I feel Ohio State is poised to give the Big 10 consecutive Nat'l Championships.

You underestimate the problem of having 5 new starters on OL, losing Corum to pound teams, not having any proven top DEs, new LBs, DB transfer to Alabama who would have started, and starting Safety out for year with injury. All this doesn’t include losing 1st Round NFL QB. Yet an even much bigger loss is losing Harbaugh and practically his entire staff. And even all of this doesn’t include the most important issue, being able to cheat and know the play calling of all of your opponents. 9-3 would be a good year for the new Michigan. Great interior DL, 1 very good or great TE, 1 very good or great CB, 1 sometimes great RB, and not much else.

coaching staff isnt that different and the qb has been there a while so he understands the system, they have been running the same system for years and have players and coaches who are familiar with it. The OL could be a problem but we will see
In big games he definitely was and his potential is sky high he is versatile. He is fast can catch passes throws the ball in trick plays and has a good vision of the field
Edwards' greatness is as a bonafide homerun waiting to happen.. I could see him racking up some insane yardage in games just based on the fact that he could easily amass 200 yrds off of a handful of carries. Corum is obviously a more complete RB with all the tools necessary except maybe his stature added bulk and stride may have worked against him in the break away speed.
