I came here for the 4Runner and basecamp vids but I’ve stayed for the quality content and to learn about truck campers. Nice work on your camper and good luck with the masters!
Hey Kat! It's good to see you again. Nice rig & most definitely has more space which when the weather's bad is a premium feature. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your updates. Stay well!
Hello Cass, We bought our Bigfoot camper new in 2000. It came wired for a radio so we installed one and found it would turn on randomly also. Drove us crazy. Also found that it drew down the battery when we boondocked. We ended up uninstalling it without finding out what was wrong with it. We don't miss it. My husband and I listen to different things anyway so I have my phone or tablet and he listens to a little portable radio which also has weather stations on it. AND the only leak we've had in the 23 years we've had our camper was where the radio antenna comes through the roof. Thank goodness for having Flex Tape in our tool box!
Cass missed you and Jasper made me smile 😃 to see you and Jasper again! I know you wanted a Northern Lite , The Lance is a whole lot of camper for 9k, what a deal! Can't wait to see future adventures. Loved the extra storage you found in your medicine cabinet, and your roomy bathroom, so nice! Have a great weekend!
Cass, welcome back! We were starting to worry about you after the last fiasco but it sounds like you landed on your feet. Looking forward to your new vids and good luck as it looks like your next year is going to be a bit hectic.
WELCOME BACK!!!!! Since your last video trashing the fiberglass unit, we were wondering what you were going to do. Maryann thought maybe you would get a 20' to replace your 15'. I went for a better truck camper, I WON! We really look forward to the adventures of the Dynamic 3.
Having all the facilities to cook and be self sufficient with the ability to detach from the truck gives you huge flexibility and peace of mind in a lighter package than a trailer or RV.
First love the camper. The radio has a remote control feature to it so you can controle it from the bed or table. It looks like someone elses remote might be starting up the radio.
A while back I sent a long post about my Lance. Glad you found one you like. I use plastic bins on ghe "shelf" over the dinette. My 1996 fridge has a separate freezer with its own door. It still works fine on electric or propane. Mine has a propane generator where your batteries are. I like your table mount and the paint looks great!
Looking forward to seeing you on the road again. I purchased my Basecamp 20x because of your videos. Post more cooking videos if you ever get a chance! I also got a travel kitten! That has been a challenge but it has been worth it.
I'm excited to see your new camper! I traveled in a 2002 Lance 815 for a while - traveled from New Orleans to the Yukon and all over the Southwestern desert. It's so nice to be able to drive and park anywhere and have a shower and toilet. For example, once we were stuck in construction- can just hop out and go to the BR. Or park at a trailhead, go for a run, then take a shower before continuing on your way. When we left to work remote, Tim said he needed more space for dual offices so we got a fifth wheel. It's nice but limits us on where we can stop. The Lance was a better explorer.
Also it was very well made - all aluminum roof just dents if you pass tree branches - better than the rubber rooves. Our fridge was terrible too 😂, but everything else was great. We just had a fantastic fan - no AC. It had a great cross breeze with the windows open - only put the fan in after the trip to New orleans.
Yeah you can count on 50-70 watts from Starlink (the gen 2 square dish) at a minimum. I ended up upgrading to the high performance dish so that I could permanently mount it on my van and that thing is worse as you'd expect. Probably 70 at a minimum and upwards of 200+ watts when searching for signal if you've got obstructions where you decided to park. Just in case you hadn't fully decided on a model yet.. either way I would never go back to full timing without Starlink so I suspect you'll enjoy it! Congrats on the new rig!
Oh that's really good to know thank you. I have the gen 2 waiting to go on this, although I've been eyeing a few aftermarket flat mount units for the gen 2 dish.
@@TailsofWanderlust Just for my 2 cents on the flat vs mobile dish setup.. I would personally never go back to having to set up the dish every time I move but the sacrifices that you'd expect are pretty real. You are likely unable to stick to the shade so you'll need to accept the vehicle being a bit more in the sun if you flat mount, especially with the gen 2 dish since it has a smaller surface area. For me I've accepted that happily because the convenience is unbeatable and I tend to stick to very high altitude during the summer months anyway. Just for what it's worth although I'm sure you've thought this all out already. haha Also! Take a look at "DishyPowa" to convert yours to pure 12v at some point. I'm currently waiting for their 24v "High Performance" dish model to come out.
the world of watching videos is great... a few minutes ago I was watching why you wanted to sell your little camper.... Now I'm smiling at this, good for you choice... congratulations
Nomadic Innovations just rolled out a 12v mini split (and yes it’s smaller than a regular mini split)… I think it’s a winner. Waiting to see more reviews.
loved seeing the snippets you posted on IG of this rig but so happy you posted a full tour here :) it really seems like the perfect rig! can't wait to see updates on renovations and then your travels you do with it!
It’s so nice to see you! I like this new camper. You’ve made some very nice changes for you and the kids😁 It was exciting to hear that you are so close to completing your master’s degree. Sometime down the road, I’d like to hear about your studies.
Great choice. I regret selling my Lance. After using several off the shelf campers, Lance really worked better than any of the others for me while living in it while exploring the U.S. for a year or so in the 90's. Looking forward to your next video.
😅 CONGRATULATIONS, I love your new rig, and I'm sure you'll make it as beautiful as you have everything else that you've owned and everything else you've worked on. You've been very busy, and I completely understand the need to balance all the things you're doing. I'm fine with a video a month, you were missed, but I'm glad all's going well. ❤
Good to see you "on air" again. Nice layout and perfect for you, Jasper and Napoleon.I did not know about the upholstery shop, thank you for the tip. Good luck with the Masters program, I know you will do well. Until next time.. Travel safe... study hard.
When you traded the basecamp for the Northern Lite, I thought “no way”. This one makes way more sense for LT traveling and living! Happy to see you back, even intermittently.
Nice to see you again. Love the new camper. You look so happy!! Missed seeing Jasper in this one. Look forward to seeing where you two will be heading.
So glad to see a video from you Cass. I've been missing you. Nice camper. It's great that you've almost got your Masters. Doctorate next? Look forward to seeing more from you.
I'm going to take a few years off from school at least. Who knows if I'll pursue a doctorate or if I'll stick to adventuring & traveling after. Only time will tell!
Hi Cass; Great to see you again and you newest project! Looking forward to your new posts/videos. You continue to inspire me in my projects and setting new goals. James
So glad you’re back! I always enjoy your videos and, of course, I love to see Jasper and Napoleon.
Yay, thank you!
It's good to hear that You and Jasper are doing well. You did a nice job renovating your new rig. Happy Trails Oh, btw much success on your Masters.
Thank you!

Awesome! Thank you! Glad you stuck around!
All That Really Matters is That Jasper Approves of the New (To You) Camper.
So true!
That is just too funny...@6:48 all my guests sleep in my 4Runner and I sleep in my 5X10 cargo trailer conversion!
Hahah love it! Although all my guests kind of loved sleeping in the 4Runner.
Hey Kat! It's good to see you again. Nice rig & most definitely has more space which when the weather's bad is a premium feature. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your updates. Stay well!
Hey Lis!! Thank you so much for stopping by again!
That's a nice camper lots more room then I thought there would be beening in a truck box; so enjoy your camper the way you want to set it up

Yes! Thank you!
Congrats! Always liked the Lance series
Thanks!
I love the wood rail. It reminds me of driftwood. I get crabby without a/c!!! It's been a HOT summer everywhere!
It's been super hot! Although, my friend is at higher elevation in CO and it was 35 just the other day!
@@TailsofWanderlust Yes, that would be expected up there. We are camping in upstate NY. It was HOT last week!
Always enjoy your videos
Can’t wait to see napoleon and jasper again enjoying the outdoors
Very soon!

Thanks so much!!
Love the new rig, I am very happy for you and congratulations on getting your Masters.

You’re back! Stay away from a 3 way fridge. Stick with a 12v/120v compressor type. Super efficient. Good luck!
That's the plan! Have a Nova Kool on order, but they still take 6ish weeks to get.
Congrats on the new rig. We can’t wait to see your adventures.
