This video is a GODSEND. Cheers and thank you so much! i came here from your boatride video and LEARNT MUCH MORE THAN I SHOULD. Big thanks JOE !!
Big thanks to you for your very kind comments! 🙏🙏🙏. Hope you enjoyed the 15 things to do video and the water taxi! -Joe - Next time you are in Bangkok; let me know?
Biggest cheers and THANKS to this channel. Hardest part about watching this video is that i WISHED i experienced this when i was in BKK to experience it. i am watching the 15 things to do video to learn more.

Good video , and nice you comment and recognise the comments! But........"Also known as Victoria Island " NO NO NO ! It is Victoria on VANCOUVER Island!
Thanks for your kind comments🙏. As well best way to refer to Victoria on Vancouver Island. 😀. Shhh 🤫 don’t tell anyone, but I liked my time in Victoria better than Vancouver
Hi, thanks for the awesome video, I am learning so much from your tips, quick question, I didnt understand from where in Bangkok and what transportation did you take to get to where you took the speedboat to get to the island Samet? I appreciate your response, thanks again buddy
You can take a bus from Bangkok's Ekkamai Bus Terminal to Ban Phe, which is the only port to Koh Samet. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours, and the fare ranges from 150-250 THB per person. At the pier you can choose the slow cheaper boat to Koh Saket? Or for additional money; you can negotiate a speed boat
Amazing Video, Joe!!
Thank you 🙏- hope you check out my other Thai videos- Joe
Hi, thanks for sharing your tips, would u mind sharing if we need to book in advance to get the ticket to visit the SKY WALK at Mahanakon tower? how much was the ticket? another question, how much was to pay for the longtail boat from Phi Phi to Ralay Beach? thanks a lot, Peace Sebastian
I did not buy Mahanakon tickets in advance, but you can and maybe skip the line/. Here is link. kingpowermahanakhon.co.th/
I booked a private Longtail boat from Koh Phi Phi to Railay. It is negotiable at the docks. It was not cheap as it was an all day adventure and required a lot of fuel for him to return - I don’t remember price. You can also take ferry ⛴️ for much less money if on budget
Great video Joe, love Hanoi, will be back there in 2025 to stay a week in the Old Quarter again.
Thanks so much! I am still here in Hanoi- heading back to Bangkok in 2 days! I think I might come back to Hanoi in April 2025. I love it here!
Hiii. I love your videos and everything man! I am a local tour guide in Sài Gòn. If you visit Sài Gòn , I can offer a free scooter tour 😎🙏 Thank youuuuuuu
I really appreciate your kind comment! 🙏. That is very kind of you! I may take you up on that! I’d love to see Saigòn again! I will come and hang out with Bob for an afternoon 👍👍👍😂.
Where can I find the water taxi dock locations. I want to see a map so I know the closest one for me to get on and see what areas it goes to know where to ask to get off. I can't find any maps of the docks and their names.
At some of the docks in my videos there are canal maps on the walls to give you references. All I can say is start from the locations I give you in my two water taxi / canal videos and try to learn from there. Most information on these will be in Thai- these are not designed for tourists

Vietnam has change a lot since the last time I went home. What a different since the embargo has been lifted.
My 3rd time here and I just love the energy, people, and the FOOD! 😂
Extremely jealous of you. Out of curiosity how come you didn’t go south thats more westernise
I live in Bangkok. But took 3 weeks to travel. Went to Hong Kong for a week- check out that video! And then bounce down to Hanoi. I love Hanoi and prefer the “Non- westernized” places with fewer expats. I love the organized chaos in Hanoi. I also like HaGiang, Sapa, Ninh Binh, Halong Bay- but I was in the mood for Hanoi- I leave in 3 more days
Love Hanoi! Have you been? Tell us your experience 🙏

I am following your tips for my Bangkok trip. There is one query. You suggested to take water taxi from Jim Thompson house to Pratunam Pier. What is there to explore? Pratunam night market is reachable from Pratunam pier?
Pratunam pier will put you at the famous Fashion mall and directly on the Skywalk. There is alot of energy here! Can walk to Skytrain from here via the skywalk. Check out this video to give you help th-cam.com/video/3vUiwCxSQd8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=x-92X4-cwoe5wmTY
What an amazing experience!!!Thanks for sharing. I do watching your videos. By the way may i please ask you some questions? 1. What time did you start the trip? 2. I have seen everyone always start their trip at central pier. And i wonder if i can start in another pier (phra arthit) because my hotel is near there. Thank you a lot.
Thanks for your question! My advice is early morning if you want avoid crowds and mid day heat. And yes, you can board the HoHO’s at the other stops. I can’t recall the exact time, but it was mid-morning. Let me know how your trip goes! - Joe

Thanks a lot for this really valuable information. I have only two remarks. 1) I do not understand the calcalation of the ATM. My calculation is the following for 10000 Baht: (10000/35.37)*1.05+(220/35.37) = 303.08 USD and not 303.82. Where is my mistake.? 2) I give you the list ofthe exchange locations you showed in the video. And I have a different location of Superrich, which in my opinion has the best exchange rate in Bangkok k79 money exchange 2063 Sukhumvit Rd :USD 282.88 USD Twelve Victory Exchange Sukhumvit 1031 1 Sukhumvit 53/1 Alley: USD 280.74 SuperRich Exchange Ratchadamri 67,69,71 Soi Ratchadamri 2 (maybe the rate is even better than Victory Exchange above): USD $280.90
Thanks for your detailed input. The main motivation for my video was to caution people about choosing exchange currency when using ATM. So glad you found it helpful- Joe
Hi Joe, just dicover your chain, I like it :-) in case you didn't know, for everyone's information, Jim Thompson was a fascinating man. First at all he was an OSS (currently CIA) agent in the 40's in Bangkok, then became in the 50's the silk Tycoon in Thailand. When he "disappeared" some people were heavily looking for his testament, and even pais a deadly visit to his sister in the US. The Jim Thompson C° still manufactures beautiful dresses, shirts and beautiful handbags in silk that you can see and buy at the JT house or in their beautiful shop at Icon Siam. :-) When visiting JY's house, please pay a visit to the beautiful OSS bar, each time I visit it, I feel like I will see E. Hemingway in a corner :-) The restaurant is also wonderful. Definitely worth the visit, mainly end of the afternoon.
Actually I made another video with much more detail on Jim Thompson. But thanks for the input to update my subscribers- fascinating really! Glad to have you as a subscriber! 👍🙏 Joe

I went to float at the Phra Panna Daeng pier.
What Ghent does have, and Bruges and Brussels don't, is a medieval castle. With all the trimmings, including torture instruments.
Thanks so much for letting us know about this 🙏- unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to go inside the castle on my visit. However, as you know, I did capture the outside in my video! I plan on another deeper dive visit and will go inside next time. Thanks again 🙏
7:56 almost no Ghent visitors mention the "Cuberdons" or "neuzekes" (little noses) a gum arabic based candy. Traditional taste is raspberry (the dark ones on the left) but apparently about 25 different tastes exists. Chewy on the outside, softer on the inside.
Yes!!!!! This city was full of good tasty sweet things to eat! We really appreciate your detailed insight to Ghent! Thank you so much 🙏. - Joe
