Tommy Vercetti was a genius mastermind, he ignored Sonny Forelli for a long time allowing him to build up better aim and better shooting skills, so when the time came he could overpower Sonny and kill him.
I guess it's a mix of both theories. Tommy's original plan was to do what Sonny told him to do but not out of loyalty but because he had no other choice. At the beginning of the game he was stranded in an unknown town without money, weapons and allies. If Sonny decided to kill Tommy at this moment he very likely would have succeeded. That's also how I interpret his body language during old friends, he was scared that Sonny would mark him for dead for his failure. But then after killing Diaz and taking over his empire Tommy quickly formed a powerful organization, earned a lot of money and got access to the best weapons on the market and he met a lot of useful contacts. Now he was able to step up to Sonny and he didn't had to bother with paying off his old boss anymore
I truly think at this moment it was confirmed to Tommy what really happened. He always knew something was wrong about that job but no one in Liberty told him or confirmed it. I think Tommy close friends and contacts and prison mates was more afraid of Sonny and his gang to tell him the truth if they found out about it. I think that's the reason why nobody ever told him even if Tommy asked around he wouldn't truly get answers in Liberty city. Sonny wanted to keep what really happened a secret and anybody who start talking what really happened would get killed.
@@RowKing2323 I think it was whispers in Liberty that Sonny tried to get Tommy whacked just Tommy wouldn’t believe it due to Sonny looking out for him while locked down plus other mobsters in prison looking out for Tommy cause he kept his mouth shut plus nobody would really tell him due to that was in house business amongst the Forelis on that life family business is always kept in the family
@@Nixkrude79 whispers and getting straight up confirmation is two different things. Even if there was whispers, i doubt anyone came to Tommy and told him straight up what happened like what Mitch did. Whispers can be false worst if you are not apart of the talking group to get the true facts and see if it's actually accurate. No one told Tommy anything in Liberty so there was nothing he could say or do against the family. Worst Sonny wouldn't want something like that out there because it would made him look disloyal and bad amongst the mafia family, that's the main reason why he had to help tommy with his court case and didn't try to kill him after.
Tommy, being almost certain that Sonny betrayed him, knew to cut ties when he was gaining influence in Vice City, but some would argue he no doubt let the power get to his head and it corrupted him in a way. But yeah, once again, I do agree with you, brudda. Tommy was justified.
Tommy's emotional spine, shall we say, was defo corrupted all along 😅, he weren't gettin into no relationships, the only guy he seemed to respect was Ernest Kelly. i don't like that about him but I kinda get it since he was surrounded mostly by morons
@@twinberwolves4231I guess it depends on the person. Many GTA characters were in jail, protagonists I mean, and been through worse shit than Tommy but were more decent.
@@SebaInitTommy was definitely corrupted by the power he has attained. It made him want more and eventually Tommy became so cold he decided to cut ties with Ken. Tommy was selfish before he became took over Diaz’ business, but the power amplifiers his negative aspects, I guess. Additionally I don’t think Tommy knew Sonny had betrayed him. Sonny not sending any help to Tommy made him distrust him and he decided to get something for himself as well out of desire for power and money. I don’t think Tommy intended to rip off Sonny at first, I think he was just preoccupied with his own success so he just took his time. When Tommy finally gave Sonny an excuse to go after him, that gave Tommy an excuse to openly rip off Sonny, but in a miscalculated manner because Tommy endangered everyone he cares for by giving him fake money
I agree with the first possibility because tommy realised after a while the workings of the orgs in vice city and decided to take over BTW, The consistency is insane! Keep it up seba.
how come no one is mentioning the stuff and the money on the desk in intro mission? imo that is a big indicator that Sonny is actually behind it all along.
Tommy vercitti is a mastermind of crime the guy was smart handsome ruthless and had a firy temper but HE COULDN'T SWIM BECAUSE HE GREW UP IN LIBERTY CITY AKA NEW YORK 😂😂
I Think at first Tommy was still loyal to Sonny until he started putting the blame on him and that's when he says f these guys I did 15 years for the family and that's what I get in return he also might have always thought about revenge and just pretended to still obay the mafia also seeing Harry and Lee killed in front of him he though why am I risking my life for someone else it's my time now it's probably a mix of all of these answers I enjoy your GTA videos I hope you keep em coming 1 love.
