Frankly, this version could have remained uncovered a few decades more. I love The Smiths, but the wind sections just don't fit in.

It's a frivolous light hearted song.. imo the wind Section fits just fine
The trumpets on this version sound like they were played by a flatulent pain in the arse! Just terrible. Sounds like the opening credits of a cheesy sitcom. Absolutely love the album version of the song and The Queen is Dead is one of my favourite albums! Pity I can't unhear this travesty!

The song is pretty corny in a Beatles yellow submarine sort of way so the trumpet is not out of place at all. It even makes the transition to the guitar part smoother.
