I bought one from Amazon and really liked it and watching EEV Blog, Dave Jones mentioned to buy two DMMs so you can monitor voltage and current at the same time or two values at the same time so I ordered another one of the same meter from Amazon. This is my personal choice but I also bought a good analog multimeter as well with a transistor dock. I'm building my Electronics Laboratory Bench. I haven't practiced electronics in over 20 years. I'm getting back into it. It's about having fun not making money 😊

Did the same, and had 2 other ddm to measure many points simultaneously

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I purchased one on the strength of this video and I'm absolutely delighted with it. One thing you never mentioned is that it switches its self off after 15 mins of inactivity which for me is fantastic. No more dead batteries because I forgot to switch it off. Also it takes 2 AA's which is great, my old one needed a 9volt PP3. Thanks again for all the videos. Very interesting.

Great video again Bill. I have to admit, Darren Walker tested the Habotest version of this on his channel and I've been tempted. 30 quid for a dual display meter is brilliant value. Keep us posted with how you get on with over time

    Thank you for the review.
You are the only person I have found that shows how this meter has a single beep on diode mode.
I've been looking for an inexpensive meter that does this.
They seem to have taken this feature away on the HT118E model.
    Thank you.

I have some nice old Fluke meters. I purchased this one as a new "modern" meter. Within ten minutes I knew this was my new favorite meter. I love all the features. I even purchased two, one for electronics and the other to bounce about in my auto repair toolbox. Nice video.

@@samygold100 Yes, still use them both all the time. They have never let me down. Even some of the features I thought I would never use like the built-in flash light I have used several times. Still very happy with the meter. I have compared voltage, current, and resistance with more expensive meters and it has always been spot on.

I was looking for comments on the display itself. Kaiweets notes that is has a wide viewing angle with no ghosting. That certainly was NOT the case with their pocket meter. I returned it, because of that. Otherwise it was a nice meter.

Great backup meter for me. When I have jobs in less than optimal conditions, high risk of theft or damage, an excellent inexpensive device. My Testo will remain my primary.

I am surprised for such an advanced meter, it's just 3 volt DC powered by mere two AA Batteries...BUT, my issue with this model is that capacitance, atimes,is quite off the tolerance level which is some worry when troubleshooting high-end electronic device PCBs

Question ...how is measuring the Duty cycle important?

    • @LockdownElectronics
      @LockdownElectronics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

If you are into robotics or R/C vehicles knowing the duty cycle of your PWM controller might come in handy when fault finding if you don't have an oscilloscope to view what's going on in the circuit.

I'll see if I can measure the volume.

    • @LockdownElectronics

Beep sound volume checked using my mobile phone's sound measuring app I get the following:-
      UNI-T UT70A - 65dB
      Fluke 23 II - 61dB
      Kaiweets HT11A - 69dB
So that makes the Kaiweets the loudest of the three tested. It also has a LED indication of continuity.

The rubber boot on these is a b**ch to remove and put back on. But I guess if you are careful/mindful you won't have to do it often.
