man, i've never done any animation w/ constraints & I was expecting to see tons of problems after i'd read the description, w0ah ur wrokarounds & samples were excellent, i was sorta shaking-my-head side to side;-) Keep up the gr8 work man.
Bro, you've shown the video.. amazes me! But then you gave the .blend file link for free.. I was like "OH THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!". Seriously, THANK YOU XD I really appreciate the help of letting us to learn better instead of following crappy videos. Thank you a million :D
Thanks for the file, running well on my i7-2600k/4870 1GB. Things like this make me suprised at how versatile a relatively old GPU can be. Games need to hurry and up the ante.
You're skills are incredible man. I feel like this type of physics would be best integrated with virtual reality devices. I've read about the valve/htc vive device recently, you should really look into that. If you could experience scenarios with virtual reality by using the things you make here as basically the environment, then augmented reality would be right around the corner. You should really look into it, VR companies need people with amazing skill in order to make a good result.

Great work! Can i use the DOF and AO filters in my scenes? Not commercial scenes by the way.
To run in stand-alone you need to remove blocks using "bpy", that's all. I was using "bpy" to access things in Blender, like groups for "constraint chains" or to "set to initial", since it's just a Blender demo example, not game.
I think the "faked" area lights were pretty clever. I was really wondering how they were achieved even as the camera moved around until I opened the .blend file and realized how simple it was.
Guys please tell me how to do the mouse grab the link is dead also Ever since near the beginning of my learning of blender's game engine I saw Phymec's videos years ago and I thought it was really cool. I wanted to figure out how you can do that realistic rendering it looked so real to me it looked like a ghost was throwing things around!! (that was before I knew what external renderers was. such as Luxrender or yafaray.) Can someone PLEASE tell me how to do mouse grab so I can throw around things? (this comment may be copied due to no responses)
I realize that I made a similar chain using the same asset... Though, all I did was a small video. Not real time. But we basically did the same thing, amazing. Edit: It works in real-time with a low stepping value.
all this real-time, are you joking people. i find it hard to believe,. the rendering uses bump mapping + depth of field + reflection + motion blur + smooth shadow (shadow mapping perhaps) + glow effect + and finally the most expensive "indirect illumination", I am not saying that real-time cannot do that, but i have not seen such perfection in real time, and yet, a physics engine that is remarkably stable on heavy rigid bodies (the horses) is running .. guys ... are you sure this is real-time??
You simply have to have an sound event, or whatever blenders equivalent is called, get triggered whenever there is a collision. That's how games do it.
Ill explain whats happening in technical terms... AHAM ,well there were three snakes. a long one, a short fat one, and one that was eating his own tail. Well they played around and things were pretty fine until the horses landed. so the snakes tossed 2x4s and globes at them but missed horribly. so the kamikaze ponys attacked and all the snakes and ponys engages in WW3 disregarding Geneva and everyone was buried in blocks. My expertise with blender helps me understand these things...
i hate your computer. ... my computer couldn't even CONTEMPLATE rendering that real-time like that whilst doing real-time physics at least, i assume that's being done with Cycles .. or is it GLSL .. if that's the case, my machine could at least fantasize about it
Really amazing piece of work not only is the physics incredible the visuals show how wonderful the BGE can be.
13:29 my mind was just blown
The link is dead :-(
Where can I download it ?
O M G !!!
I did not know that blender game engine was capable
of having this kind of quality look into it !
Congrats !!

Real-time? This is deeply impressive. Fun to watch.
If I had the patience I'd use Blender to make virtual stim toys for myself, because the videos you make are _perfect_ for that exact purpose.

Hi. The StudioPhysicsDemo.blend file link has somehow corrupted. Can you please share the appropriate link with the .blend file? Thanks.
impressive Love the bike chain!

Wow. That's one awesome machine...

I love how my brain automatically add the noise

DoF and SSAO filters are under Creative Commons A-SA 3.0 license - so basically you can do anything with them :)
is it possible one day to have sounds for these object when they hit each other? just wondering...
Fun thing to try: select wood link group, duplicate (linked), start simulation, (left) Ctrl+i, repeat…
Hi Phymec,
Thanks for the video. Could you please re-upload the .blend file? Thanks.
Oh, custom physics code and Martins' epic shaders. Okay, now it makes sense. :D
How did you get these to look so realistic in the game engine?
This is the BGE? What wizardry is this?
You must have one beast of a computer, my friend.
Was this made in blender game or blender render or what? How it can be so smooth?
Nice!!
Thanks for the .blend file ;)
Everything runs perfectly fine with no lag except that my screen shows a lot of black squares flickering everywhere. Why would that be?
HEY Is the depth of field also made on the game engine?
Any chance you can upload the roller chain blend demo?
very good work man!
is it even legal to be this good with blender ?!
So glad I updated instead of learning Unity.
What graphics card do you use?
I realize that I made a similar chain using the same asset... Though, all I did was a small video. Not real time. But we basically did the same thing, amazing.
Edit: It works in real-time with a low stepping value.
How did you get it to render in game?
how much RAM do you have dude ???
WoW! Wonderful!
how can you rotate the camera
What filters do you use?
this was awesome
Doesn't work when exported as blenderplayer ("save as game engine runtime")...
Phsymec is awseome
Let's Goo play jenga! in Real Time 2vs2 xD
My poor laptop would curl up in the corner whimpering if I tried this...
Whoa! Nice.
what computer have you got?
this video es good but.... can you update link?
Good job but what is the script for the phisic?

This is what Crysis 6 will look like O.O
I want 20 minute of fluid reactions
:D
Someone buy this man a couple of 7990s!
This is great! BTW Windows 8 + Blender + Auto hide taskbar is a bug, please tell someone to fix it? :'(
Cool! :D
Hmmmpff - no file for download... weeee weeee weeeewewe!
Other than that --- PRETTY DANG COOL STUFF; Phymec!
I feel ya bro :S
Yes my pc can run this perfectly. except i have the black squares as well. not sure what to do, but i will try a few things
My jaw dropped ...
wow very nice! apocalipsys zombie xD
audio doenst work on this video :'(
You simply have to have an sound event, or whatever blenders equivalent is called, get triggered whenever there is a collision. That's how games do it.
Slap that on a picture of Hawking or Einstein and you got a new meme xD
use ALL the horses!!
tutorial for voroni fracture pls :)
Dang. I've got a Xeon 3520, which should be comparable, but probably my videocard is too slow to make this work. (V5700)
Download is gone!
Its just like when you chemsistry, but you gravity more.
dead link :c
Is it just me, or would anyone else use the big link (beginning/end of video) for a spine in a rag doll (game dev.)
how to "play" that??xd

Yes please share PC specs.
mine would too... but it would also take your avatar and try to shoot itself in the processor...
wait a minute! How come bullet is so fast in Blender, and not in Lightwave? I want my money back. :-(
you forgot that you have to physics the physics, and do physics at the ends.
how umade auto focus man
Even physics?
agreed
Whats fake?
First you physics the physics
Then put the physics into the physics while you physics
PHYSICS?
you need more likes haha
I also noticed :s
uh .. yeah ... i'm an idiot ... BGE with GLSL . ... i see that now
-facepalm with brick-
your problem is windows 8. that's a major bug all by itself
:P
:o
I pour you are hot, creative, and strong. he/she forces oh
no you can't make a bomb in it, duh
It's almost April Fools right?
Do you even physics?
hahahahaha :D
I'd like to see you tie a shoelace
101
You even physics?
¿sɔısʎɥd
i hate your computer. ... my computer couldn't even CONTEMPLATE rendering that real-time like that whilst doing real-time physics
