The Confimed Henry Sinclair did land in the Empire of the Mi'kmaw People a Recognized First Nation , in whats now called Nova Scotia Templar symbols on stone.
I've read John Robinson but I still think that Freemasonry came from working stone masons guilds. Some say that's too simplistic but that doesn't mean it's not possible.
@@ScottishRiteMasons Ah but the fan favorite theory is that Blue Lodge came from Operative craft and Templare that refused to go away like the Sinclairs and the renamed one order of christ group in spain had some members/persons join the blue lodge to influence/guide/infuse secrets. Such as the York Rite Cryptic degrees telling about the Kensinton rune stone numbers.
The Knights Templar likely had working free masons with them. I don’t think you’ll find too many soldiers then or now that can build the tunnels and structures that were built. The masons learned from the knights and the degrees were already part of learning their craft.
Didn’t the Templars do a lot of that because people kept getting attacked at the time? It would certainly make sense in the context of the Crusades. Plus, a lot of those people I read somewhere were benefactors of the Templars because they gave them purpose and places to be. (I think a lot of them too were less well off before joining the order, and I remember reading somewhere that one of them tried to help the Order during the trials by the King of France.)
I really don't think it's as simple as that, seems that's what you want, but the Templars were vast, varied and spread out. They were the first major corporation of sorts and developed a banking system. It's a very long and complicated story and I don't think anyone knows all the facts because they weren't documented, the Masonic order of Knights Templar derives its name from the medieval Catholic military order Knights Templar. However, it does not claim any direct lineal descent from the original Templar order. Seriously? Then why use the name? What is to be gained from it?
Sign of reverence. Some freemason knights templar have claimed lineage in past but not most. My great great grandfather from Detroit lodge was knights templar. I don't show family record or oral tradition they came from the historic ones nor do I have record of him claiming so from that line. He was 32nd degree grand master. They were all inventors with patents though. His son invented the diamond drill for jewelry. I was under the impression growing up they had the secrets to math in the universe. And they came from stone masons long ago. That was my understanding.
The same reason people claim to be ninjas and samurai when they aren't- they are trying to associate themselves with a set of ideals. They want to be seen as being as honorable and upright as the Crusaders seem to have been.
