    Annette's support is more unique then the singing. It's the only support line where he isn't openly hostile to the other person. It's also one of his few supports that has a proper linear progression between all supports. Instead of being openly hostile in C - B, and then time jumping in A with a heavy emphasis in writing of "they have been working together a lot hence why he is now doing a 180." While the relationship doesn't confront the issues as to why he acts the way he does the relationship is significantly more natural.
    On Annette's side it's the only ending for Annette where her singing is brought up even though she has other supports where she sings. Reaffirming that her singing and the relationship it brings with Felix is unique.

      Excellent points, I can't believe I didn't notice the lack of open hostility felix had in these supports. I also agree that its linear progression, it ends up being a very natural and satisfying support compared to some of the more abrupt ones. Thanks for the thoughtful comment!

    I believe that he is wrong to discredit his Brothers death as meaningless. He Sacrficed himself to save his friend and for that, he should be respected. I can see how the lack of remorse for his death caused Felix to despise Chilvary and he feels no one feels bad for his death, except Dimitri, though he is confused by his boar side.
    Felix seems like he wants people to cherry their lives and not abandon it.

      Exactly I think felix really hates the way that chivalry will lead people to put social values over their own self preservation and that he thinks society almost uses people like his brother needlessly. It's nice seeing his character growth to where he can see the good of chivalry

      This is such a good point. Because through it all, no matter the antagonism, Frlix had never once blamed Dimitri for Glenn's death.

    What I love about Felix is that he's literally the only character to call Dimitri out for his bs

      True and at some points in the blue lions route Dimitri really needs someone to do that

    Dimitri and Felix is one of my favourite relationships, Felix acts likes he hates Dimitri, But on other routes, When Dimitri dies, Felix expresses how much he cares about Dimitri.

      @@ordinaryunits4341 I wasn't sure about Felix's attitude towards Dimitri at first. I always liked him, It wasn't until I played through the other routes that I realised how good of a character he is, With his complicated feelings lol

    An interesting thing about Felix that you didn't comment on is how there is actually data in the game that indicates Felix betrayed Dimitri in the Azure moon route, alongside Annette in an unused story path. They would have ended up fighting against Byleth and co in the Cordelia map. I think they definitely toned down his antagonism towards the others, particularly Dimitri, in the route.
    I do wonder how things would have played out in such a scenario, especially given that Felix was effectively one of the most powerful people in the army after the battle of Grondor field - being "lord fraldarius" and all. An ideological conflict between him/Annette and the others would have been interesting, although the combat quotes in the data don't really amount to much IIRC.

    • @ordinaryunits4341
      @ordinaryunits4341  4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Yeah that situation was always super interesting and some part of me wishes that they kept it in the game, but either way I'm really satisfied with how the azure moon route turned out in particular. I think Felix's character is super interesting whether or not he's with Dimitri or with the empire in crimson flower just because of how he plays off of Dimitri and the chivalric ideals of Faerghus.

      Sounds like a good concept but realistically a choice like that wouldn’t make sense to me at least, at that point in the story Dimitri was still insane about only wanting to kill Edelgard, so there’s no way he would’ve ever agreed to go to Fhirdiad first at that point
      Maybe they could’ve written his character a bit different to accommodate for that route split but with the way Dimitri is in the story we got, Rodrigue’s death is the only thing that could’ve gotten him out of that deep end

    • @TheMartianCherry
      @TheMartianCherry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fellowpassenger_54-67 There're options available. Felix could demand something after the battle of grondor field and if not granted, that is what triggers the betrayal.

    Great Felix analysis. Like you said: he has a hard edge, but cares a lot for his comrades. It's why I love him so much as a character. I especially like that you pointed out that Felix is in a way still grieving the death of his brother and later in AM his father, and that his attitude is part of a coping mechanism.
    Looking forward to more of these analyses. I'm subscribed to your channel now. Keep up the great work my dude!

      Awesome, thank you and I will! I also like how Felix fits in thematically with the rest of the blue lions house, serving as a sort of counterargument against chivalry because of how its negatively impacted his family.

    I just discovered you and I am loving your content.
    Felix can not have closure or even true happiness unless he fixes his relationship with Dimitri. Unless he gets a wife, lol. And that has been living in my head rent free.

    I admit, I was a little worried there would be no mention of Felix and Bernadetta's Support! They're my OTP and I truly think they're support convo makes them both grow a little as people. I always appreciate whenever anyone mentions them, even if it's just their names next to eachother lmao. Anyway, great analysis! I truly enjoyed the indepth look you took into each of his supports, they can really help you see into characters thoughts and opinions. Keep up with the great content, and Felibern fans rise up!

    Well, I feel like Felix does have a point with his views on chivalry, so I wouldn't call him "disillusioned." However, he is unfairly standoffish and unaccepting of other's views, so I do agree with you on a lot of those points.

    • @ordinaryunits4341
      @ordinaryunits4341  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I see what you mean! I never intended his being disillusioned to imply that he seeks to undermine the chivalry of Faerghus. Rather I wanted to describe his disappointment in what chivalry is, since pointless sacrifice and platitudes are so common within it. Thank you for leaving your thoughts!

    Felix character hits deep when you have been somebody in your younger years that tried to act tough and then had the sudden death of a loved one; it's a really heart crushing parallel and the ways one can descend into spiralling madness/chaos in their head.
