Princess have smashed it with the new S80. Their range of MY's are amazing, a clear industry leader and you don't get to say that too much these days about British innovation, design and build. It's a Med-machine!
Another thorough and informative review Jack! You are the best. Seeing the test drive is always the highlight for me. Accommodations variations/options are so much more impactful to see in a video. I would never crew this boat without allowing them to join me on deck. I can't imagine asking anyone to hang out in that cramped space when their duties were complete. What a beautiful series by Princess!
Love to see you putting her through her paces. For a 80 footer, she is agile, once the turbos kick in woo hoo watch her go. She is stylish, her decor makes her feel light and airy. Helm is practical and easy to see and operate the boat systems easily. Her exterior and interior are spacious with good storage. The interior windows give you have great views. A great family owner run boat or a charter boat.
Yet another superb review Jack 👍 I watch loads of different boat reviews/tours and yours are without doubt the best. This S80 is quite amazing as is their whole range. Cheers.
Loved this review... was looking forward to it. Really nicely shot, well thought out and executed - all of which melts away to me when I sit down to enjoy the tour. Big grin. Well worth the effort you put into it Jack. Thanks.
Another great review, Jack. I love it when you push these big Ladies. She has beautiful lines disguising her size. That said, I think the X would be my choice if I had 11M lying around. Simply because it's an "all weather/conditions" yacht. Keep them coming, mate.
This sea trial is a real coup Jack, well done! Yacht Buyer smashing it out the park this year 👍 Great series this by Princess. I love the tender garage on this one, much cleaner lines. Still think the X80 would be my fave though. More useable space...
It looks impressive to use as a massive fast day boat/party boat, or solely for use in the med. I'd probably go for the X80 for internal space and liveaboard potential, the Skylounge looks awesome, or the S72 for something at the sporty end of the market, it has a internal dining area so could be more useful than the S80 to live with. For UK use maybe an F50 with the IPS 800s, or an F62 with the larger 1200hp engines might be a sweet spot in my mind, sub 20m so not quite as restrictive on marinas.
So hard to imagine a yacht this size could be considered sporty but I guess it is and with the optional engine, it’s close to 40 knots so I can see myself out running a Coast Guard cutter
Princess comes across as being the best of British - they don't seem to have a weak area anywhere, from design to engineering to build quality, it all looks consistently very good, and the fact they err on the conserative side in terms of aesthetic is appealing to me too. Nice review too. Was it me or did she look more comfortable at lower speeds though?
Agree, a big day boat. which means you need two models. Get the S for charging around the bay, and the X for spending time on. Moor them side b side and let the games commence! like the idea of just one dining table in the cockpit, so many boats repeat amenities every 10 feet, so you have a million fridges, ice makers, tables, grills etc. We all live in houses with just one oven, no ice makers, and just the one wine-stained sofa...less is more. great review as always.
lovely beast. imo the best overall design of the sport offerings from the major manufacturers. sadly though they have gone with the too large galley area which takes up almost the same footprint as the interior saloon. though its not as sexy i would personally go for the x80 because i would want to use it year round rather than just in the warmer months.
Really informative vlog , do like the princess range , think for me I would have a Y72 , the 80 is just a bit too big and would prefer to have no crew , the S80 as tested does look good though , bimini is the best option , thanks for the tour
There is a lot of talk here about the charter potential. How many people charter a 10+ million yacht and self crew or have minimal crew? If I owned a yacht of this value, would I want a jumped up fund manager partying on it without crew? I think most would want a chef and serving crew, I would. Love the video all the same.
Gorgeous boat! That’s my pick of the 80’ Princess range. Sorry Jack, I’d order a hard top (although I’d have to see it to make sure it looks as sleek as the rest of the boat). What is the little door below the tender garage?? Access to the rudder mechanicals? 🤷🏼
For that price, I would expect a better representation/ratio of cabins/ensuites, and 'Jet propulsion units' with those horses you would get a bit of a nudge closer to and probably a bit beyond 40+. Jet units eliminate your 'Beaching' problems in shallows
Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Living in Florida, I want as much air conditioning as possible so I'd pick the x80. It's like Satan put your nuts in a crock pot during the summer.
All yacht builders need to be taking notes on the Pardo GT75 in terms of aesthetic. I really don't like the beach club on this, the difference between the two levels seems clunky just to fit a measely rib tender. The pardo goes from the galley level, to the sun bed on it's own defined level, then drops down to a third beachclub/platform level. Seating at the beach club level, seating and spacious lounging on the sun bed level and an extremely cosy sofa setting on the galley level. Compared to this princess, the 4 seats before the sunbed don't have very good function, you can't really lie on them and the angles are all off. Not to mention that cheap, nasty bimini top on the fly bridge wow. Like a cheap fishing boat except for 10 million LOL. Really don't like this, on top of that it's an 80.....the bigger you get the more you're going to need staff and can't take them out on a casual day trip once the engines get to a big size (need dedicated licensing in some jurisdictions) yet the yacht isn't big enough to have space away from staff that something over 100 has and takes away from the intimacy of a smaller yacht. 5/10 for this
Why do you want all boats to look and function the same? What a boring world that would be. From a size/price perspective this and the Pardo might compete, but their respective designs focus on different uses, so they'll appeal to different customers. They also reflect something of their national character. What's the problem with that?
@@philipwright7186 I never said I want all boats to look and function the same, I said the designers need to take a look at the pardo and see how space is utilized on the aft. The 3 terraced levels as opposed to 2, is far superior in the pardo compared to this, the space is far more user friendly where plenty of seating and the 4 seats are just terrible. They look uncomfortable and they're poorly positioned because of the middle split. I don't think it shows any "national character," instead it shows more unimaginative design, in that there is a very simple design for the engine room, which subsequently causes the appearance of the aft and has only 2 terraces. Compared to the pardo where there is more thought into housing the engine and features in order to make the terraced deck.
@@cookiemonster2299 It's got a freakn bimini top....the newer designs on yachts like the pardo and the swan arrow and solaris they've done recently where the focus is on the beach club is nicer. Having the aft flow seemlessly down to the water level is much more aesthetic then these hulking divisions between galley level and the beachclub.
Great review, think this channel is now the premier boating review channel on the web, well done. As for the question of personal perference, I like the X, am smitten with the Y, but absolutely adore the S80.

My favorite is the Y85. Great tour, without wanting to sound funny, your tours have got very much better over the last year, well done.
Nothing funny about that Jules, glad you like what we’re doing 👍
@@Yachtbuyer I didn't want to sound patronising.
That is a beautiful yacht, love everything about it, nice to see how easy it is to manoeuvre as well. Great tour Jack thank you.

Love your videos, Jack!
Thanks Jack, thanks team for this perfect video of a perfect yacht, I'm going to have to watch it again later on the projector screen 😜❤️🇬🇧
Yes please! 🍿
The test drive has tipped me over the edge in my 'imagined' purchase over the competitors. Also an easy decision to spec the 2200hp engines
Speed demon, eh?
Thanks Jack! This one is a keeper..😊
That’s an absolute beast Jack another comprehensive and interesting review
Thanks Al!

Great boat for the Mediterranean!
S78 is way better hope this does not replace it! The 78 is just a masterpiece! 🙏
Hi jack great video as always 👍👍beautiful boat. You have a dream job. Princess number 1👍👍
I want to see Jack driving this stylish beast (and critiquing the fiddles and grab rails).

YES PLEASE JACK , AMAZING BOAT, and a great video , any chance of a shoot out against Nick B for a proper coffee ? on two of these ? 😉👍
Well done, great video as always!
I think I still prefer the Cranchi 78 in the 80ft range.
Y80 for me
One can dream
Or one can watch TH-cam...
I generally go for TH-cam.
You think it could be owner operated or crew is needed?
2 experienced sailors may do all maneuvers?

80 footer with a class B category and 10 million! WTH! Well you can romp around the bay and look pretty in the slip! Princess's LOL 🤣!
I agree and 12 million with tax.
great video quality. the design of the staterooms are so boring. why are modern boats so drab?
ooh posh, lol
