Harvey Oswalds' dead and gone He took the last train out of town One minute man has cocked his load Yes baby, rooster on parole Fall into an abyss Won't you give me, just one last kiss Valium knights in my bed Only now, he's a vagrant in my head Golden love is holding on Holding onto what we had before Jfk's sun went down He left the thorns of fallen crown Marilyn Monroe's come I'll swallow She is the guts, the glory, sorrow I'll take it all, give me more I will be your hero and your whore Valium knights in my bed Only now, he's a vagrant in my head Golden love is holding on Holding onto what we had before Loneliness, twilights gone I don't understand where we went wrong
A friend I had bought this album as a gift and someone stole it from me. Years later and it still hurts 🤕 I remember it being beautiful, its packaging was otherworldly.
Awesome :) they played this song on the speakers in our local rock/punk/rockabilly/ska venue and got me all revved up for the show to come. gets me pumped.
Brody will always be in my heart, on the objects i got her to sign, and even in my childrens minds when i have them. i grew up with many idols, but Brody was a great one. She does things how she want because she likes them. ♥Brody for life.
You must me talking about Alain Johannes, who plays bass on the album, and as indeed worked with QOTSA for the lullabies to paralyse album (plus the tour). He's also worked with many artists such as Chris Cornell on Euphoria Morning, and he produced the Spinerette record. That man is a genius
Brody's voice has gotten more trained, I do believe... This is what I had hoped from Spinnerette. If they can keep this quality of songwriting up, they'll be able to release something really great.
LOL first thing i thought when i heard valium knights was : 'wow..seems like she really likes The Gun Club...' and i just can't believe people think of bloody Hole when they here THIS.
Mate I'm totally in the same boat. I absolutely loved the Distillers, completely huge fan but Spinnerette are just incredible. I've been waiting for this album for too many years and from what I've heard was totally worth the wait!
Harvey Oswald's dead and gone He took the last train out of town One minute man has cocked his load Yes baby rooster on parole Fall into an abyss, Won't you give me just one last kiss, Valium knights in my bed, Only now he's a vagrant in my head, Golden love is holding on, Holding on to what we had before
omg !!!! where u it???? i been looking for some soof the new brody's album, but i can't find anything .... anyway good song, but i really was hopping a super riff. but i like it.
Sure, the distillers really are RAW punk, but as so many other people on this video and others said, punk is about doing what YOU want, and not listening to the mainstream. This isnt mainstream, so therefore, its pretty goddamn punk. I love Spinnerette and The Distillers just the same. Brody has showcased her amazing talent in both, and I hope she and the rest of Spinnerette continues with this.
Yeah those sparse notes in the background have to be one of the benefits of birthing Josh Hommes child. I'm kinda of hoping this comes out soonish. New Strokes album and new Brody Dalle material, is gonna make 2009 an awesome year for music.
Yea I would even if I didnt know it had brody in it...Just coz her voice rocks and so does this whole song :) I hope they get some more songs out soon!!
this song is great regardless of who sings it. the fact that brody is makes it all that much better. but I think if this had been released by someone else then there wouldn't be nearly as many complaints. thats the sign of a true MUSIC fan. the ability to look past who's singing it and/or playing it, and KNOW its a great song, in of itself.
bra-frickin-vo... seriously, one of the best responses on youtube. more punk than your mohawk. (and actually, if these "fan-boys" knew anything, they'd know that it was the whole band deciding to split, rather than just Brody going off on her own.)
well you ending i love her so lol i guess thats okay. and Spinnerette does not sound dumb her music just. people just grow into there music as brody did and this is what she came up with ... and i love it
Dear SinkAndDi, The Distillers were an innovative band, granted. But I am so tired of hearing people equate the Spinnerettes with the distillers. Listen to this music like it's a totally new band, because it is. The sound is an evolution. Remember this qoute, "Teenage angst has paid off well, but now i'm bored and old"(Cobain, servants). Brody has evolved. Something that intelligent artists do.
I mean first Distillers albums had some help by Lint´s hand. I´m mega fan of Rancid (transplants etc) and mega fan of Distillers (don´t mind if they are punk, HxC, ska...) but i like this music ;) I dont wanna piss anyone with my comment
I think that the Spinnerette album is so overlooked. I absolutely love it and it still sounds amazing now.
Not on Spotify sadly.
@@snaileatsface it is now! Fuck yeah
This track isn't on Spotify though, and it's an absolute tragedy!!!
Still love this song after 10 years
Timeless! Yas! ♡
Damn; it's been 14 years.

brody is awesome. whatever direction she takes, she never ceases to amaze me.
Awesome :) they played this song on the speakers in our local rock/punk/rockabilly/ska venue and got me all revved up for the show to come. gets me pumped.
When I was first sent this song,
I nearly died of exitement.
And I've been repeating it an un-healthy amount.
Loved brody for somewhat 15 years thanks to my sister. Brody was my style inspo and of course i loved distillers. Plus she was and still is badass.
oh my god, am i in heaven?!
i needed to hear to brody's voice in a new song. i just love it
Brody will always be in my heart, on the objects i got her to sign, and even in my childrens minds when i have them. i grew up with many idols, but Brody was a great one. She does things how she want because she likes them. ♥Brody for life.
the problem w/ this song really is just that it's TOO short
Such an underrated song, but I will love it forever in my bed🤘🏼🍾
this could be the first song i will learn on guitar.
If only y'd stayed in Fitzroy we could've had babies

I love this song, but every time I hear the intro, my brain automatically goes, "I'm walkin' on sunshine!"
Brody's voice has gotten more trained, I do believe...

Love Brody and everything she's done musically. Can definitely hear a QOTSA influence in this one, which is fine because QOTSA is awesome too.
Exactly. SO GLAD ITS FINALLY RELEASED!!
great, i love it!
does anyone know when the album will be released?
Harvey Oswald's dead and gone

Her lyrics are still amazing, and I think it's natural that she'd want to play with new sounds. That is what real musicians do.
omg !!!! where u it???? i been looking for some soof the new brody's album, but i can't find anything .... anyway good song, but i really was hopping a super riff. but i like it.
I didn't notice that, but now that you mention it I hear it too. O_O
Best Spinnerette song, has the rawness
i'm glad i found out about this band. that was a really good song

I really need tabs for the chorus and this amazing irish-style part. What a great song!
just bought the album, why isnt this song on it.
i'm so happy to hear some new stuff from brody and co. i've waited too damn long!
what does it matter? do you like the music? that should be the deciding factor

isn't the guitar player in spinnerette from QOTSA or at least was in it? something like that
Grows on you, simple as that. I will enjoy Brody forever and always.
Me too, should be an awesome gig
I am looking for the vinyl this song ist on. The self titled vinyl seems to be missing this song - does anyone have a clue where to get one?
It was Ghetto Love EP right before the Spinerette disc
great!!! i luv brody's voice and that punk
rock sound she makes!!!
Who is still jamming this in 2020

I'm in love. I can't wait to hear more.
Such a great song!
I firmly believe we are entering a re-styling of 80's music. Trends repeat and revolve.

I hear some Misfits influence, at the beginning and in the song structure. Simple, straightforward.
yeah i know ehhh? i just got the album yesterday and that came to mind. but still alot of other good songs i havent herd.
Beautiful song :)
its amazing. no joke, its ridiculously good.
