There's no way I'm ever going to do that much detail work." And then it turned out it was a fondant mat. 😂 I was kind of relieved, actually. Edit: You used rose gold! It looks amazing with those subtle colors!

I got questions! I am literally fixing to do something similar, but with an Egg Shaped cake. Would a ganache filling be best? I am wanting to cut out the center of both halves of the egg shaped cake, make a Soft creamy ganache filling, inside of a solid chocolate egg, then put it inside the cake, "glue it together" with a firmer chocolate ganache and then cover the whole egg in it. I am doing a colored white chocolate for the outside, so I can decorate it like a Faberge egg. Would this work?
I do think it should work;) just make sure your white chocolate ganache it thick enough. Maybe even a 3 1/2 to 4 parts chocolate to 1 part cream. White chocolate ganache doesn't want to firm up as well as a semi sweet or dark chocolate.

The ganache on the inside as a semi-sweet 3/1 chocolate to milk ratio. My chocolate egg with a really soft creamy filling came out great and I stuffed in between the layers coated with the 3/1 ganache, and put a layer of the gaunch between the layers of cake as well. I lined the cake pan with plastic wrap, put a layer of 3/1 chocolate ganache on the plastic wrap leave the cake in there go to the top half and then covered it up and stuffed in the freezer. Gonna let it set up for a bit, while I make the stand. I totally forgot to make it. Where would I send the picture to when done. I don't mind sharing
