Thank you so much! I took my car to the shop and they told me I either needed a new engine, or mines would have to be taken out, torn down, oil pump replaced, rebuilt, and put back in. A friend told me it may be a sensor. I Google the sensor which came with a link to your video. As soon as I popped the hood to look at the sensor, the first thing I noticed was the wire connected to the sensor was broken. I just stripped both ends of the wires and twisted them back together and wrapped it in electrical tape. Problem solved!

mine came on our 2010 cc too. I checked the oil level and it was good. I recently did an oil change 3 weeks ago. I read online that it can sometimes be the oil pickup tube which has a filter on the end of it which gets clogged. I removed the oil pan to be sure it was not the culprit. It was perfectly clean. I guess these engines can have sludge issues if the owner or previous owners use no synthetic oil. I read to test the oil pressure too to be sure the pump is working correctly. I'm going to replace the sensor and test the pressure next. Thanks for the video!

Same motor my 09 Tiguan has and I'm having the same issue. Runs fine and there are no loud noises or loss of power (which could indicate bad oil pump, clogged pickup tube or several other things) so I'm hoping this is the problem. This issue just started happening to me yesterday, I went about 75 miles on freeway and as soon as I turned off and got down to 25 mph the low oil pressure light started flashing so I pulled over and shut off motor. When I restarted the motor the light had gone out. Jumped back on the freeway and went 75 miles back to my home with no issue, as soon as I left freeway and got down to 25 mph the light started flashing again. Got home and switched off motor and restarted, light had gone out. Ordering a new sensor right now, should be here tomorrow and we'll see how it goes, fingers crossed. Thanks for the video.

I feel pertinent information is always left out of some of these videos and especially this one.... the characteristics and symptoms of a defective oil sending unit is the oil light will intermittently flash on and off /or stay on...and or they leak usually on all cars eventually

I've had the flashing oil pressure and chime going on my 2010 Tiguan for nearly a year. Replaced the sensor, (no change) oil pan dropped and pick up tube inspected (all good), pressure checked (all good) and even drove without the oil pressure sensor connected and STILL the oil light and chime comes on...it's been driving perfectly fine but no more ideas what to do.
Edit: Over 3 years now with oil light flashing and have disconnected the speaker because of the chime. Oil pump is working fine, oil pressure fine, vehicle runs great.
