When you said "Thoughtfully rendered detail " I think this is what many great Artists do in all fields,not just comics.Too much detail everywhere just becomes confusing and loses impact.When we walk around the human eye doesn't have everything in focus at the same time.When I first bought comics I looked forward to the Splash pages as they had the extra work,details etc,which had more impact because the other pages were not so heavy with details.
Would it be possible to do a video of how you prep work to get inked. How you do the printed blues how dark the blue line is I'm a bit of a noob and have no idea how to do that process let alone going to a place that prints and telling them what I want done.

As I'm watching this it occurred to me that although you're using black, you're not really drawing the shade as such, more drawing the highlights by omission. If that even makes sense lol. P.s. how about a Lobo drawing?

ricky todd Botelho I stopped drinking coffee too, a few days back. so its a double whammy! :) 13 hour pages day after day will grind you out. But I have really crazy stamina. Allergies lately have been kicking my ass...so that makes me sound more beat too!! the show must go on as they say. It's 5 am. and I am already up to attack the new day! rooooockkkkk and rolllllll
