even typing in chat to "emote before doing a finisher", and people STILL nuke the champ. i've just stopped doing the stupid nightfalls.

The best way to get a lot of points is to use warlock Phoenix protocol Well. With the Golden Ability Empowerment, you can get a super every 10 seconds, and "Show them the light" gives you more points from killing red-bars in the well. Also using Trinity Ghoul bow for ads. Then using emote/finisher on orange bars. You can easily clear 400k points.
Bungie screwed up on this. If you don’t play right away after reset you’ll be forced to get a high score that’s way higher than it should be becuase the 10% barrier is raised as the day goes on. And the other 2 methods are ridiculous grinds. They need to revise it
Nope. The winners package isn’t a grind. You only need to do 3 activities as a hunter. (Because they’ve won consistently so far this year.)

I got it! Thank you. I ran warlock with Starfire protocol for lots of supers. I missed 1 champion finish, but still managed to get 309k for it. I was not as fast, I ran 20:12 and was hurrying at the end to finish as I was going long, but I got the Sparrow, very cool. Thanks for the info!!!

Got 300,186 solo so you definitely can get your 10% just be aware of ads, single out champs and you’ve got it guardians. Wishender/igneous hammer/unwavering duty(lmg) wellock
First year ever playing during the games also first year with a high enough lvl to do nightfalls after me and my friend grinded the game when he started playing all the dlc’s I’ve never really understood the scores for nightfalls in general or any strike or others but I did my second nightfall yesterday it was set to matchmaking and I did it solo bc no one joined but I managed to platinum it without doing any emotes or anything special really I did do finishers but just didn’t emote now hopefully I can get top 10% for the exotic scimmer. I’ve also tried to get wish ender one time I failed so I used the beta fireteam making worked out great besides the fact the my teammates went one to do the entire dungeon instead while I was just getting to the part of fighting the second boss to get the bow and I got tp’d to the boss fight so haven’t tried again
I did not know how easy it was to get heavy spree. I'm definitely doing that my next one. I honestly just want to stay in top 10% solo for bragging rights
thanks dude. Got over 300k on my 4th try mainly because I died and reset. I was set on just banking medallions but solo private match is the way if you are a solo player like myself

Ebontis, do you have to run the quest multiple times to get the 10%? I got a score of 284,431, but in Drop in quest it is not marked as completed??
I did it a nightfall a few hours after reset last night, got 265k score and still didn't get top 10%, ridiculous quest, not surprised people aren't playing anymore.
I had no idea about the whole emote/finisher thing. I was wondering why people were dancing around and playing golf at the end of this strike.

Something we vets have been doing for years in the guardian games is using trinity ghoul. You will rack up massive medals with it making it super easy to get high scores. Emote finish champs and kill everything else with trinity ghoul. Trust me
I did the same Nightfall, but it took 5 minutes longer and only got 282k, still 10%, though. Rush through so your time doesn't deplete but still emote finish majors, champions and ultras the yellow and orange bar enemies. By the way, around 20-25 minutes your score depletes.

Man I ran this 15 times yesterday when it was the disgraced nightfall. Emote finished just about all the champs/oranges and only got like 265000. Was not top 20%. So incredibly annoying.
Yep this is my current issue with the system, I did try to write to the Destiny2Team on twitter with this exact situation being an possible problem. Try Tuesday hopefully. Also don't forget the diamond Medallions especially from 2 hours on twitch, i hear they are 300 points (1 per week) so with that being 900 for the THREE week event, 300pts isn't too bad to grind.
When doing this solo, do you have a timer?? I keep hearing about the 20' mark. Does the NF just end or start losing some points ??
Yeah after 20 mins or something you start losing points slowly over time.

Make sure you see that you have emoted at the bottom left otherwise you won’t get the extra points. Notice how when it doesn’t show that he emoted he doesn’t get the extra points. And when it shows Ebontis did whatever emote. He gets the extra points. Just FYI.
OK so I did solo nightfall today and got a score of 235k and got the platinum medal etc but it didn't give me top 10% thing for the skimmer board ....anyone know what I need to do ... don't want to drop $25 on silver just to get the damn thing
Will my kills and finishers count is I don't finish the solo Nightfall then restart the NF and keep doing it that way ?
Kills and finishers will count towards the medallion counter yes, but the final score does need a full run.
I've been doing this since the event launched. I can't Crack past top 30. I emote and finish everything that has a yellow bar. I do not get it.

yeah, if I tried soloing this I would die so many times I would quit. Even grouping up I would be dead constantly. Some guy yelled at me from dying to adds so often in the final part of The Last Wish. I will probably just complete the quest the other way.

Run 100 Resilience, 100 Recovery, and 100 Discipline. Easy to get your armor triple maxed by focusing at Riven. Then just don’t sit in one spot like an anchor; make yourself hard to hit.
You missed 2 easy psions on top of the big flat rock, right after coming outside, before dropping down to go to the main part of the strike.
i'll just wait till next season when they add 5 new hoverboards
I never looked at the match making, until you clicked on private.... I've been 5 days sober from vaping ( nicotine ) and I'm a little out of it playing this. Now I know can go ahead and solo this like I've done prophecy dungeon the last 2 days!
I’ve done the nightfalls so many times, and I’ve only been be able to reach 12 out of 1200 medallion points…
It only counts banked medallions and you can only hold 3-5 on you at a time.
Are we doing this for platinum medals? Also, my hoverboard is a white background, not exotic, why?
You do this to get the exotic hoverboard the white one goes away after the guardian games is done

No. Far less champions. It’s an easy solo or duo. Just kill and emote everything.
It's basically a Hero nightfall, not that bad actually.

My question is “can you get as many platinum in one week as you can”? Because I already got one platinum for this week, I wasn’t getting any more or am I missing something?
Diamond are the medallions you are limited on. Platinum you can pick up another card after you finish whatever you are on. Don’t like the on you are on dismantle the “bounty” and get a new one.

Just finish the nightfall and got platinum with a score of about 190000 but did not count for the 1 of the 3 for the hoverboard does it have to be the weakly nightfall or can you do the ones from guardians games because for me did not count
