*Max Rich Music* Your stuff is really helping . My only issue is when I do the 4 finger exercises starting at the G String . My Ring finger goes up fine. It comes down to the G string fine. But getting to the B and High E without moving my pinky is almost impossible. It's my dead spot to playing that exercise in time. *I've been working on it almost a month and getting no where* I should mention I have played acoustic 5 years . So it's not as though I have a Weak Pinky . Playing lead electric though is a new game for me . I haven't been a serious student though . Kinda got stuck in a comfort zone and stayed there. Also Older at 59 . So maybe my ring finger is screwed.
Hey there, no your fingers are definitely not screwed up! Don't feel like its impossible, because it isn't. There are a few things I can probably tweak for you to in the movements you use that will help make this much easier. If you'd like send me an email to max@maxrichmusic.com with a video showing the problem and I'll let you know what I think.
The main thing is that these are techniques everyone can do, you just have to find the right mechanics and hand position that allow them to work effortlessly.

It's such a specific issue anddepends on a lot of factors. I'd have to see it and go over your movements thoroughly before actually finding out what's causing it. I know that's probably not the answer you hoped for, but I can't, in good conscience, just give a random reason and possibly lead you down the wrong road. I'd be happy to work with you if you'd like help overcoming your pain. I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to play pain-free, but your pain definitel has a cause and we just need to find it and fix it.
what happens when (at 8:42) my fingers move more with my thumb out? i can barely move my fingers when my thumb is in the middle
