Kolya has advanced Parkinsons Disease and the leg pain is likely associated with this. There are medications avialable which can markedly reduce the symptoms of PD. Perhaps organising treatment by a specialist in the city may be possible by crowd funding and this would likely both improve and lengthen his life.
From Kolya’s perspective what a strange thing this must all be. A bald Englishman shows up randomly from time to time lavishing him with gifts and money. We should all be so lucky to have a TH-camr come to our house.
SNBoomer it would be great if Ben set up a P.O Box and asked us, all of Kolya’s friends to send him a picture postcard of where we live. Then he could deliver them the next time he visits. Kolya wouldnt be able to read any messages but he could have beautiful pictures to look at from around the world that would brighten up his home and he would know that for each postcard, at least one person has been affected by him. I think Kolya would like to see other places besides Belarus. I hope Ben sees this.
Love this guy. He doesn't even know the internet. I've used "It's better to be a small potato in your own land" 4 times this week and each time people nodded and looked at me like I'm a professor. Hilarious.
Old man with Parkinson's in the middle of a radioactive zone in a country I didn't know existed for half of my life just gave me inspiration quotes.... humanity came so far
This is beautiful, two men from vastly different worlds form a friendship and respect each other regardless. You mean alot to that guy and it's nice to watch, makes a change from all of the other hate and intolerance in the world. God bless you bald.
Thats the name of the famous Russian song about 60 years old. It was written as the anthem for ice hockey in USSR. But soon the phrase became useful for any situation that requires some extra fitness, strength and wit. It now means "you can't back down if you're going at smth big".
When Kolya saw Ben at the door, that was a display of such a raw, unscripted emotion. That man may not have too many material items in his life, but clearly he holds dear the truest and most important things in life, and most prominently being love. Kolya clearly loves Ben, and I'm sure his other friends as well. I am always so happy to see this man, though I am sure he will never know or see me in return. Always wishing the best to him, and his simple life.
No history book I studied as a student could pass on understanding the way videographers like you do! Because of people like you, Humanity will remember! In a Thousand years this old man will live again in the chronicles of the people of Earth! Thank you my bankrupt friend!!
Damn, just one tear rolled down my cheek when he hugged you. I love this channel so much, everyone is like friends, I don't feel like a stranger while reading comments. And we can see how the comments changed from Russian memes to the real talks, reality, life. You're an awesome human being Bald
Яuяal Squiяяel I don’t think he was impressed by the one doing her shopping for taking the pi$$ out of his odd shoelaces 20 years beforehand. Imagine being with a woman who still brings stuff up from 20 years ago!!
I find this story absolutely fascinating. Everyone who has watched Kolya videos know about him but he doesn't know what the internet is and that so many people know about him. In the previous videos comments people were worried for him. The two total polar opposite - Kolya, alone in the radiation zone and all the thousands of people from across the world connected and following his story. Massive respect for Ben going there and bringing these two totally different worlds together.
It's kinda heartbreaking in a way when you say goodbye.. I mean the way his living is kinda unimaginable nowadays.. Imagine he'salone in that very huge place and doesn't have the basic convenience in life, specially it's very clear he's not that strong physically now, Spending your little time must be a huge thing for him.. Can't imagine i can survive in that situation. I might die from loneliness.. Very inspiring. Kolya is a very strong man..
Im belarussian, and im proud that we are of the same blood with Kolya. Thanks to him, that many people will find out that in our poor country there are a lot of good people/
Despite having to deal with the poor environment around him, he still wouldn’t change his heart for another motherland. That’s some true loyalty to a country, a homeland. I’m touched by that honestly. Kolya~A proud Belarusian.
*I hope to see Kolya once again in the near future. He is truly a strong man.* Edit: I forgot to say he is truly inspiring and bring tears to my eyes I feel bad for him being lonely even though he is the strongest man in the entire planet.
Awww that moment when he saw you he come running, that smile on his face and the way he hugs you, that melts my heart,Thank God that he's okay, sending heaps of love to kolya please Mr Bald💙💙

Their reunion was one of the most wholesome and wonderful moments I've ever seen on this website. What a guy, that Kolya. I wish him the very best. Thanks for visiting him again!
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.” no guessing which kolya is...
Got tears when Kolya opened the door and came out 🥺 There is still hope in this world. A year now since I followed your channel Ben and still like it. Keep it up!
For Gods sake Bald, I'm a grown man, stop making me cry. I was so relieved when Kolya appeared at the door, your last vid got me a bit worried. Love watching the relationship between you and Koyla, its as funny as it is heartwarming. God bless.
You should take a polaroid with you on those trips, so you can leave a picture with the people you met. I'm from Brazil by the way, and I simply love the videos you make. I was just watching it with my mother after the dinner. I wonder when we'll see Kolya again!?
This is the quality of vlogging that brought me here in the first place. Genuine, hard hitting and personal stories from countries less travelled. Keep it up Ben.
I'm kind of in a weakened state emotionally lately, so this was very hard to watch for me. That could be the very last time that old man sees someone who is so good to him like Bald was. He is in a pretty bad situation. He needs more and deserves more, as a human being. Bald coming out of nowhere and giving him basically whatever he asks for (which isn't much, some beer and cigarettes) may be one of the last really fun memories he will have at the end of his life. I cannot handle these feelings right now, but I do want to say, Bald has become a truly amazing vlogger -- and I would truly appreciate it if he would upload more often and longer videos... please. Thank you for your entertainment, Bald... thank you.
I would love to see how Kolya looked back in the day. Also more about his life: was he married? did he had any children? has he ever been to Minsk? what about other places? Congratulations on making so good content Ben, keep it up!
I really needed this video right now. Kolya is an amazing human being. We as a people, have so much to re-learn from him as people ourselves. His comments were so broad yet so specific and so timely these days. I wonder if that is why he has become everyone's hero and someone we all [on the internet] want to flock to and to protect. We want to take care of him and hold him up for the rest of the world to see. I think we look up to him out of respect but also as a mentor; because we can learn [re-learn] from him many things about life and living and internal strength. In a day and age where people are more worried about the label on a bathroom or being called Mr., Mrs., Ms., Miss, or "It." Kolya would be aghast if he were to come across some of these things, but also respect them; "To each their own" is what I would imagine his response would be. He embodies personal strength, respect, passion and an overall resolve to love life for what it provides as life itself is the most precious thing we all have. I honestly believe that these are the reasons why he has stolen the hearts of so many. His purity shines far brighter than his dirty and brash exterior. Everyone has a legacy in life.....Kolya's legacy has just been realized via your YT channel. His "family" name will live on in the hearts of [potentially] millions around the world. I am not sure what else you could ask for in life.
Kolya! How wonderful of you to go and see how he is doing! You have a heart of gold for being so kind and generous to him. And Kolya also has a heart of gold - just for being Kolya. Thanks for sharing this video with us!

That moment when Kolya probably thinks he is very lonely, when in fact he is the most famous man in the whole region by now.

I love the way Kolya practically jumped into your arms when he saw you -- he was so happy. For me that was the best part of this video.
"i will be your woman"
"oh you blabbermouth" what a player.
You should buy him a radio if he wants. So he can listen to music while he is alone. I would donate money.

Dougtube we should all be so lucky to have someone care as much as Bald does for Kolya!
Some bald man talking to a thing on a stick. Bald probably looks like the crazy one to him.

Your friendship to this lonely old man is valuable, loneliness is a general problem of old people
This is actually kinda heart-melting hearing Kolya getting ecstatic to see his friend.
Poor Kolya.
he doesn't have a clue, that people like me,

Did he get a new coat with his money?
He does look better
Please bald, you HAVE TO keep us updated to kolya he is a holy person of this channel now.
Kolya is a lot smarter than he looks. He is a practical man. Better to be a small potato on your own land...I hope he stays ok and wish him luck. Mel
An internet sensation that doesn't know what the internet is.
I agree we should get this guy checked out. We could easily fund this
