Interesting to hear your reflections on the past year. Why would a 1 inch exit pipe prevent clogging? Is it because the nutrients can "evacuate" faster which makes the roots not try and follow the nutrients as much? Also, can't wait to see the 2024 systems and hear more about the clay pot heater 👍
If you go to 8:52 in the video, you'll see roots coming out of the pipe into the solution barrel... that's a long way from the buckets! The roots are coming out of the 1/2", restricting it, and causing the buckets to overflow.
@@stuffmydadknowsYeah, I saw that. So the 1 inch pipe will not actually prevent the roots from growing down the return pipe. It will only make sure there's more room around them so there's less chance that the exit pipe gets restricted, leading to overflowing buckets. Is that the idea? Just curious as I think that dutch buckets look like interesting type of system 😃
Great to see a discussion of the failures along with the wins

The pipe exiting the bucket is 1/2", this is the one that gets restricted. The 1" has no problem it has enough room. But that's the idea!
@@stuffmydadknows Thanks for the explanation 🙇♂️
