I wish Greg Howe focus more on giving lessons about guitar and songwriting. Imagine he's doing youtube like Rick Beato, breaking down his own songs, what makes them great. That will be the best youtube content, lol.

@@shredgardener9231 my first request will be "Push On" from Wheelhouse album. That song is so melodic, yet jazzy.. how to make that kind of melody?

@@Danumurti18 man, i just checked that song out here on YT. damn good track.
i dunno but i hear a bit of some latin flavorings kinda what Kiko Loureiro would play.

@@shredgardener9231 Glad you enjoy it! that's one of my favorite, it has real progression like telling a story, something you usually hear on classical, but it's jazzy. It's easy to throw a bunch of stuff and chords that changing modality everytime, if you have enough skill (good rhytm, fast playing, etc) it will sounds great (let be honest, alot Greg Howe's stuff are like that, especially in Parallax and Uncertain Terms). But that song is different, the melody are catchy, singable, but jazzy and complicated, lol.

He can't play clean...he can't play an acoustic guitar. thats why he use all the time that horrible sound. Its the only way that he have to play fast. I like the real guitar player like bireli lagrene or frank gambale, they can play on any guitar.

I fucking love that you have a VHS rack on your desk, what are you doing with that thing in 2023?

That's an old Alesis ADAT multitrack recorder. Pretty obsolete nowadays but he might using it for adat conversion although I doubt it. They don't sound so good compared to modern convertors.

The Greg Howe VHS is for the playing of John Petrucci Secret Tape so he can play at his own, _unrestrainted_ level.
