  • I received a call from Greg Howe while on tour with Simon Phillips. His pedalboard was playing up and making all sorts of noises and needed some help. So I jumped on a plane :)

Dan, mere words do not really convey the enormity of what you have accomplished for planet earth. Your gifts, your insights as what Could be, your dedication to creating clean sonic character and the required wisdom to follow the trail, & stay your course, you're a magic man.

Very cool. I like these "board build" videos. If I may make a request, some commentary at the end (i.e., summarizing what was less than ideal and what was done to improve the situation) would be interesting. I know for this one it some of that was obvious. Just a thought.

Kind of interesting to see Dan's reaction to a pro using a daisy chain. He was practically going full Gerry Butler from 300 and booted that daisy chain down an endless pit.

Defo power makes huge difference. I remember during my gigging days quite a few guitarist would daisy chain a 9v adapter to 4 pedals. I know decent power supply cost money but worth it to get proper use out of your gear.

this is partly why I havent ventured to tube amp territory: way expensive maintenance( every other guitarist I had pedal deals with said: dont buy that amp its got this n that issue again, as I suggested certain common tube amps...!), nowadays I play less, but I think I have a coupla good sounding solid states: Fender Stage 100 being one! and I really love a cheapo Harley Benton 80W Mosfet Lead( the older version): warm, loud and sensitive! I never thought it would sound so good!
about pedals I can have 6 overdrives on without noise issues, so I picked them good, ha! I have the ZOOM G2 multi, which has crazy dist solo tones, but I rarely use them, plus theyre ultra tweakable to taste..., Cheapish CAN do good!

What i understand about this videos of pedalboard making is that with a switcher, you get rid all over tone loss and keeping it pure, i'm i right? i have a monster pedalboard, with two built-in buffer pedals on it and it's not enough... still loosing frecuencies.

Hi, I'm building a pedal board using a pedaltrain Pro classic. I am using a a Strymon Zuma to power most of my pedals except for two as they both need more mah than the Zuma can supply. The two pedals in question are a Boss se-70 which uses a AC 12 volt psu 1.5A and a Hall and Collins signature echo which uses AC 12 volt 1A. If I plug both psu's into the same plug board will it cause a problem like hum? I live in the UK. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Vince Ball

Daniel, how are you holding down the power cables in the back?
It looks like pedal tape over the top. I’ve never seen that before. Is that just temporary?
I use cable ties with self adhesive mounts. They are easy, and look good, but I find they don’t hold well over time (even if I clean the surface really well with alcohol). The only way I can get things to hold solidly is to remove the adhesive backing and glue the mount with gorilla glue-trouble is obvious, difficult to apply and you can’t easily change things. So I’m looking for a better option still.

I can turn this nice sounding rig into my dream rig with overdrive and gain into Roland and wet.... ,reverb trem, delay where it needs to be and other wet pedals into Acoustic brand amp . Wonderful vid as ever. Just be careful posting clips of driving, nudge nudge, you never know who might notice the speed.

Is it me or does the lick box seems like it's in a bad spot (Not Dan's fault)? I feel like trying to hit those switches above the Whammy would be difficult.

+Michael Raas he only changes sound very rarely on the LickBox for this gig so was happy with it where it was

I really like the guitar music that starts around 1:12. Could you tell me the artist and the name of the song?
