MV Freedom, the floral colors of the sunken quarry are EPIC in the summer months ... almost a world wonder. Hopefully you'll make it back for a summer visit. Also, if you can take the time for afternoon tea at the restaurant, it will carry you back to the time of the Victorian and Edwardian heritage of the area. Not cheap, but ever so enjoyable and worth it.
I really enjoy your channel. I have wonderful memories of visiting (and living) in many of the places that you have featured in your videos. Thank you so much!
I have not watched your relaxing and wonderful channel in a while. I know Sandy was sick and noticed she wasn't in this video.. I'm sorry. But my belief is you never lose someone you love. You just gain another wonderful guardian angel.
The Butchart Gardens are a great destination and Mr. Sully took it beyond himself to make a small Donation That's my Boy if Miss Sandy were with us perhaps she would have given a larger donation...haha luv you guys...
they should give you free entry. I living in Canada never knew about this garden. What a wonderful channel you both have. Your Christmas tree should stay up till January 7th.
Great video! Looks like a beautiful place to visit! Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your 2020 trips and adventures. Missed seeing Sandy in this video though.
I would like to see more of you driving the yacht around with forward view from the wheel house, because it will look so cool on my large size tv and my VR Thanks.
As usual 10/10 in every way. And for the admission haters $29.95 Cdn. translates to less than $23.00 USD, the staff / new plants / maintenance / dock space / etc. etc. is part of the business price, and you can spend the whole day enjoying the gardens, I guess there are haters on every vlog channel. I do agree with a few of your commenters that Spring/Summer are best for colour bloom and Christmas light display in winter, for us it has been a family tradition during the Christmas season. You were sooo close yet so far, here in Sooke you could visit the Sooke Potholes / walk Whiffin Spit / have a nice meal at the Harbour House and if time is your friend head North/West up to Port Renfrew and experience the Marine Botanical Gardens / Avatar Forest and beyond to Ucluelet and Tofino and the rugged west coast. Nice to see that your intro still includes Sandy in her memory.
Have you checked out the videos by Mermaid Monster? They’re a young couple like yourselves, but with two children from California living aboard a Nordhavn 55 on the East coast. FYI, We also following Gone with the Wynns and Cruising the Cut.
You know what is really depressing? Sending a xmass card to myself with the text, From your best and only friend. Guys things can always always be wurs hahahahah
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH Ha, ha, ha! Happy wife, happy life :) Hope you both enjoy your new life living aboard. You're both doing what a lot of us wished we could do. Good luck!
Just found your you tube channel and thoroughly enjoying it. We had a boat moored in Point Roberts, outside of Vancouver a while back so it's fun to watch these adventures around the Gulf Islands. Butchart Gardens is wonderful at Christmas at dusk! One question: can you adjust your playlist starting from earliest to latest because You Tube automatically plays into the next one (which shows them in the wrong order).
I just found your channel and love watching !. I live in Victoria, have a small fishing boat and want to get a starter cruising boat in the near future. I love seeing the south Vancouver island content
It's normal and you can access to Burchard Gardens and you have enter Finnalyson Arm to get to Burchard Gardens and Marina and I m from Victoria BC and grew up there and I know the area both by vehicle and boat as well
Great video. Such a great place to visit. I’ve been deciding on what type of Nordhavn I want. Between the new 41 or a possibly a larger yacht. How do you feel about the speed. Or lack of it? Lol. Also, is there any options you wish you had?
Kevin White unfortunately we don’t live aboard full time but hope to in the near future. Living aboard in Seattle is nearly impossible and highly regulated.
Can you 2 please try to attend opening day at the Mount Lake cut..May 2nd.. it's an awesome time..your boat will fit in great. Southside is free. Also have you joined a club yet?
@@mvfreedom it is absolutely for you..The Windermere cup shell racing 15' from you boat. The amazing boat parade..great content opportunity. I do Seafair as well. I enjoy opening day way more.
We had a very disappointing trip to Brentwood Bay Resort a couple of years back. They wouldn't let our kids in the pool. You can imagine the devastation.
In my family, the christmas three doesn’t come down until after Kings’ Day that is January 6th. These kings are the ones that took baby Jesus gifts. Therefore the tree is put out until after January 6th.
Fast forward to about 5:15 of the attached video if you’d like to see some photos of Butchart on a sunny spring day. th-cam.com/video/QMpIuPGbXjw/w-d-xo.html
55 acres of sculptured gardens costs serious cash to maintain. It's peanuts in American money anyway, and if you come in the summer, you can spend the entire day and evening there, have lunch or dinner, fireworks, etc. Make an excursion out of it. $28 for an in and out in the winter is probably not worth it, but you usually spend a minimum of 2-3 hours there. This video showed a 5 min edited visit.
Has anyone given you grief over your drone shots? The rules up here in Canada could be different than in the US. Just curious. As always another great story. Sad to see you go I think you do a great job promoting areas of the west coast. Looking forward to what you bring us in 2020.
My Butchart Garden story is, we went for the day. I thought it was overpriced and as I was leaving someone asked me for my opinion, bad idea. Upon pulling me aside for a talk, they did offer me a 50% refund. Nice place, summer prices as I remember were higher!
I love Sully ❤️

Thank you two for the Butchart gardens.
The Xmas lights and "stuff" going on at night at Butchart is wonderful.
My favorite day of the week, MV Freedom day! Love your vids.
My wife and I went to the Butchart Gardens in early summer... It’s beautiful during that time period... The sunken garden was our favorite as well...

Enjoy every moment. You have reached farther than most. Good luck, calm seas. Add a third.

Best wishes from the U.K. 🇬🇧
Yes very good in summer and recommend the “fireworks/light show”.
Again as usual, your video is fabulous. Always do look forward to every adventure. Thanks.
one beautiful place
Absolutely a beautiful garden IN THE SUMMER. Otherwise, not so much. Worth going back to in late Spring.
The plus side in winter is no crowds. In the summer it's packed like Disneyland.
The tree should stay up until 06JAN, the 12th day of Christmas. (aka, Kings day. Also the start of Mardi Gras season.)
Cheers!

I was just charting an adventure from Orcas Island to Butchart last night. Perfect timing.
Love Brentwood Bay, really awesome in the summer!
Can’t wait for your 2020 adventures!
Christmas and new years is great at buchart gardens ... highly recommended
Storing the Christmas tree on your boat is plain showing off the space. ;-)

You guys should get a pair of boot/shoe dryers,,, you will love it.. and pre warms slippers also..
At almost $30 for admission they should serve dogs filet mignon.
It's a Honda: of course it started.
Nice video guys it would have been nice to see you hook up the dingy to bring it aboard

For future reference, you may want to mention to 'Captain Happy' that the tree would usually be taken down 12 days after Christmas (Jan 6th).
That's great, but when you're living in a confined space, even a tiny tree is a PITA. Up for a week to humour the wife, then back in the box.

Hey guys, love your channel! How’s your experience so far living aboard full time? And do you recommend the 43 Nordhavn?
Cheers

MV Freedom we do a lot of our boating in and about Desolation Sound, hope to see you guys on the water😊
Just curious how did you guys meet?.....and I say keep the tree up longer lol
Thomas Mcilwain we met through mutual friends at Elizabeth’s high school graduation party, and the rest is history!
The tree stays up thru the Epiphany (Jan 6th)!
She clearly wanted longer, but Cap'n says so....!

i would pressume that garden in the spring/summer is a complete mob scene.
Xmas tree rule: 12 days before and 12 after is what I was brought up with.
so I was wondering you guys married and what do you guys do for a living, what an awesome life you guys have. thank you
Fireworks:
In the summer they have fireworks every Saturday night.
have you filled the tree compartment of christmas decorations elizabeth

It's Thursday. I never know the plan and I don't respond to the programming. News for you. You don't know, do you?
Need security to keep all the people at bay visiting Bouchard gardens!!
It's winter. Try getting a dock space in summer.
Yikes! $27.95 each!
Bob Black It’s worth the money. At least you can buy flower seeds to take home and plant 🌱 for yourself.
It's a lot more $ in the summer... double

If it is truly overpriced, I doubt that you would have over a million people a year in attendance. Just my thought.
I was good until you had to share the dog taking a sh*t. Geez.
💩 happens. Oh the trauma you suffered...
Please stop your plans. All your plans.
Sorry, thumbs down for making me watch a dog poop.
