A. This shows the importance of committing and moving on to the next “problem.” B. This shows how great something can sound in 15 minutes when the source material was done well. Great vid, thanks!
Totally agree! If you get stuck mixing one thing for ages you generally make it worse. The source material is definitely the most important thing to a smoother mixing process! Consistency in performance and mic placement are key! Thanks for watching mate!
how do I train my ears to listen to phase issues on earphones? tbh, I'm not able by any means to mix with speakers. I like my mixes but there's always some phase stuff happening that I'm not able to identify. And I use the exact same headphone so I don't have excuses. What would you suggest to train myself in this regard?
Thanks man. Unfortunately not for this one as those drum tracks were a session job for a client and are not mine to give away. I’ll keep that in mind for next time maybe!
The only thing i think you could of done better would be to pull some 200-500hz from the bass drum to remove some of the boxy sound but dam that was awesome to see you pull all that out of 15 minutes awesome work

Those raw tracks already sounded better than most of my finished mixes.
Haha thanks man, they aren’t bad raw tones at all! Just needed some spicing up to fit in with the style!
I literally thought that he was cheating and starting ahead 😂
@@baileydrummerLOL I thought that too. The source material without any mixing sounded so fucking good already.
Wow! Great work in 15 minutes!
Great video, thanks! Would love a video on how you tune your drums for all those great different tones you get. Cheers
Thanks, Great suggestion!
Super druming😃🤗💗💗👍👍
Awesome! It also helps A LOT that drums are well recorded, otherwise it would take 15 years to fix them
Definitely!
Love the mustache! Bring it back, lol!
Hahaha it’ll probably come back at some point 😂
Great show, I learn a lot from you, I really enjoyed it, rock on
Thanks Bryan!

sum your monitoring track or master bus to mono and you will hear phase cancellation even with headphones
Name of the music in the video?
You have great ears … have you tried the transient stuff from Slate changed my whole drum bus finishing process
Thanks. Yeah I have played around with it. How do you like to use it?
@@spinlightstudios I started using it and honesty it has widened and cleared up my drum mix
GREAT video man
Appreciate it!
Cool drum mix!! Is there any way we can get the drum tracks for practice mixing?
Thanks man. Unfortunately not for this one as those drum tracks were a session job for a client and are not mine to give away. I’ll keep that in mind for next time maybe!
@@spinlightstudios no worries man! Love the the drastic change of the raw drums! 🧨
Woohoo. Max i kindly ask what toms were record with what mics here if you can share that info? They sound phenomenal
No problem, sennheiser md421mkii and 13” and 16” Ludwig keystone Tom’s! They go pretty good!
Great vidéo!👀🥁 🔥💯🇫🇷
Thanks mate!
Hey, can you make a link of the snare bleed preset you have on the Fabfilter MB? It would be much appreciated.
Cool!
Thanks !
No problem 😉

Thanks mate! yeah 15mins goes very fast when mixing haha!
Samples B were so much better where can I get my hands on then mate?
Hey man what do you mean by samples B?
I'd have done something to mellow those cymbals a bit. But, overall...for the time you had...great job.
haha for sure, it was a race against the clock :P I definitely spend more time on proper mixes haha thanks mate
I think showing how you mic your drums might be even better.
Owee
Man it would take me 15 months to get that mix.........and it STILL wouldn't sound like that!!!!
Thanks!
