KT did not look herself but it was Valbys day today, she was totally dominant. KT has always been about team more than herself and she proved that today.
Valby, Lemngole, Markezich, Olemomoi and Tuohy were all amazing. If Touhy was sick, she put on an awesome performance to help NC State to the win. I coached in the classification in Washington that Markezich came from. She is from a small private high school in Seattle. She has done amazing things at Notre Dame.
I've heard the interviews with Henes, Bush, Tyynismaa and I don't think anybody else and I wish somebody would mention their 7th guy in, Gionna Quarzo, who has done so much for this team over the years, and really did the job last year, along with Nevada. Her score of 102/76 was the lowest of any SEVENTH guy in, except for NAU's Maisie Grice, 76/58, which is amazing. If I were giving out awards for building this amazing team dynasty, I would credit, in order, Coach Henes, her daughter Elly Henes, Kelsey Chmiel, Katelyn, and the cohort that is there and training in their own environment: the Fabulous Freshmen, with the valuable benefit of the veterans like Gianna Quarzo. One excuse we Tuohy cultists could make for our hero's seeming demise is, well, actually, assuming the three-peat, this is really just a developmental year.
Notwithstanding Katelyn's brave effort, freshman phenom Leah Stephens deserves top honors, too. She was 43rd with 20:08.2. That is the SAME TIME as the 44th and 45th in, Leana Willemse and Yasna Petrov. If Leah had been just a few hundredths slower, State would not have won. If they gave up even one point they would have been in a tiebreaker with NAU, which they would have lost.
UNBELIEVABLE team, to battle through all that adversity this season, and not give up and win the title. I think if Tuohy was healthy, it would have been a very close battle with Valby for the individual title. But Katelyn cares much more about the team title anyway. GO PACK!!!
@@TimMarshall-er9qk no 9ne was camping on Parker this season KT ran almost as fast this year as last. It just was not her day. You obviously don't keep up with Women's CC. Henes said Katelyn has been sick for 2 days and feared she wouldn't complete the race. Your post is complete bunk. smh@@Tigerex966
So Katelyn Tuohy and Lauren Henes did not reveal, as they well should, in the before race interviews that Katelyn was not well. I missed the live race I'm hearing the results before the Race. It remains to be seen how dominant Katelyn Tuohy will be the rest of her career.
Laurie Henes.... her & that good ol' Diljeet Taylor from BYU are some of the best womens cross-country coaches.... the proof is in the pudding son.... and you can take that to grand-pappys house & have him pack that in the corn-cob pipe i meant to say...
katelyn tuohy is a world class runner how is she always sick? I haven't had a head cold for 5 years and i barely run...because I overdose vitamin C any time i have a hint of a cold. So I don't understand why she's always sick during big races
Because virus's and bacteria don't care of you are a world class runner. Also vitamin C has almost no effect on colds: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK279544/
Valby waxed Touhy at Nuttycomb...Touhy then wins by 12 seconds in her regional...then gets waxed at NCAA's, lead by Valby. Perhaps the torch has been passed to Valby.

Great interview. She’s clearly an incredible coach

Well done Katelyn, you did a terrific job, from a big big fan in the UK
KT was obviously not feeling well today, but dug out a huge result for the team.
she's always sick or 'not feeling well'. to me that is not a champion mindset. But she'll go pro and make tons of money regardless
You are obviously illiterate about running and racing. @@LamelKendrick

Unbelievably brilliant top tier coach she is.
Best to NC State & KT. Congrats PV on another great individual performance.

Amazing great coach! Great team! Special KT!
Great Job NC.. We were rooting for you all the way!

Great program
KT is America’s favorite !!
Congratulations. Go ‘Pack! Great coach and a great runner!
Need any more proof that Henes is the best?
Phenomenal.
Heroics all round great team
Congratulations on your win
There’s no “I” in “team” and there’s no “I” in “coach”. Coach Henes and the Wolfpack are first-class all-around.
Teamwork made the dream work!!

Varby would not be denied this time.
Katlyn also would not deny her team.
With Katelyn's strength, she could have just camped on Parker and used Parker's slowing last K to ease away from her like last year.

Not true. She ran 19:09 last year. 19:23 being sick this year. So, no she didn't run almost what she did last year. @@Tigerex966

Typhus is done totally lost it!
Why is she avoiding looking at the camera?
bc people are there asking questions so she’s looking at them
There's like five or six cameras and she's looking ppl in the eye, not at the camera. She's not a YTuber or Instagram influencer.
She has just lost it!
I read in the enquirer that katelyn is pregnant. Thats why she was so slow..
