With Chris we finally have an intelligent interviewer. No one else matches his interest in the person being interviewed, his careful preparation and tactful manner.
I am a true Katelyn fan and will be supporting her new career as a professional runner. Go Katelyn! The altitude will be so good for her and now she doesn’t have academics to interfere with her training.
Chris really is a great professional interviewer and Katelyn is such a genuine positive well spoken young lady enjoying her sport, her friends and family. Her parents have a lot to be proud about beyond her running ability!
Yeah so happy for her, I'm a huge fan for several years. KATELYN TUOHY will be an awesome pro, and when it's all dome she will be one of the best ever.
Since so many people are commenting without watching the interview: She's taking her last test next and graduating at the end of *this* semester... funny all these people criticizing her for not staying in school can't even bother watching the first five minutes of the interview.
great interview :) loved hearing her account of the ncaa xc race, super awesome and happy for the whole team. Definitely looking forward to following Katelyn's professional career.
Katelyn is a top favorite runner of mine all-time. Been following her for a long time, and love her team approach even though she could easily just focus on herself. She seems so humble. I hope once she gets in the pro groove that she will kick a$$. She has the ability and work ethic.
there is Nothing better than having a New Job that one likes and love to do! Congrats... on a new chapter in the life and times of KT more years to see you RUN...
Great interview and interviewer. You're a class act young man. Katelyn is an amazing individual and distance runner. Good for her to follow her dream and to challenge herself to higher levels. As a past distance runner myself with a few marathons, she encourages me to slowly get back into it. Keep the interviews coming. Namaste. From a Vietnam Era Marine Corps veteran.
It was only a matter of time given her rise over the past 3 years. Amazing, I hope you have an amazing Professional career and get to taste the Olympics.
You go girl 👍 ......best wishes 👏......and yes Chris does a great job with the interview .... It has been awesome watching Katelyn progress from high school on has been a great pleasure .....looking forward to more 🙂
Congrats on turning Pro and the timing of it sounds like the right balance of collegiate and now pro goals! Katelyn no NCAA woman has elevated the level of collegiate sports in distance running as you have- you are in the same rarified air as Abby Steiner for sprints, and Sydney McLaughlin for hurdles and the same. I would love to see all three of you making the team at trials this year! All the Best and Godspeed!
Would have loved to have seen Katelyn in that last 5k as Parker broke the NCAA record and became the first to break 15' but looking forward to seeing Katelyn face faster competition.
I don't think many people knew KT and some of her teammates where sick at XC championships, I didn't know at the time. It explains a lot why she didn't ran as well as usual.
Why do you want her to finish College ? College degree is a fake useless standard that society has come to pretend like it defines the individual. Degree means notbing!
To bad in some ways but she was being eclipsed the past year so she might as well make some money while she can. Some less than stellar performances and Valby beat her up last year. Great athlete though and I appreciate her legacy. Great fun to watch her at her best in NCAA. Great young woman too!
I think we all selfishly wanted to see Katelyn focus on her collegiate goals or stay undefeated at 5/6K distance and to win at Nuttycomb, Regionals and then run down Valby again to be Back to Back NCAA Cross Champion once more. But I feel that she made good use of her final semester of College at NCSTATE to help her team three-peat as Team Champions- Valby has much to learn from KT there. Her decision to set her sights on making the Olympic Team this next year meant that she couldn't train to peak for Cross this Fall. I wish Parker Valby and her Florida squad the best year yet, and that she continues to elevate the Collegiate level in perhaps her final year before turning pro. As Katelyn's fitness peaks this Outdoor Season as a Pro, I'll be cheering for KT to put Valby in 2nd place one more time, before passing her the torch of NCAA leading lady.
So much wrong here. No, Valby did not "beat up" Tuohy last year. Valby did not beat Tuohy even ONCE last year. It was the opposite...Tuohy beat Valby head-to-head at the 2022 Outdoor 5k Championships and the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, OK. They did not race head to head in the spring or summer of 2023. The only 2 races that Valby beat Tuohy head-to-head was this cross country season, at 2023 Nuttycombe and 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Panorama Farms. And as is well documented, Katelyn was sick in the Nationals race. If she was not sick, IMO, it would have been very close between her and Parker for the individual title.
@@gagearmijo4150 Strawman argument. That's not what I said. But Tuohy WAS, in fact, sick at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championship race. That is confirmed by multiple sources -- including Tuohy, Coach Henes, Wolfpack teammates, and the fact that Tuohy went to the medical tent after the race. Are you seriously trying to deny that fact?
With Chris we finally have an intelligent interviewer. No one else matches his interest in the person being interviewed, his careful preparation and tactful manner.
💯
Wow, yes, he is really impressive! Personal, prepared, thoughtful…really outstanding.
Yes, you can tell he loves what he does, just like Katelyn, both are great role models!
I am a true Katelyn fan and will be supporting her new career as a professional runner. Go Katelyn! The altitude will be so good for her and now she doesn’t have academics to interfere with her training.

Congrats Katelyn! I wish you the best as you turn Pro and hope to see you set many records.
Been following Katelyn for a long time now and she is such a genuine human being. I'll continue to be a fan as a pro!
Katelyn Tuohy is certainly one of the greatest athletes to ever wear an N.C. State uniform. Best wishes for continued success!
Katelyn is always so professional in how she answers questions and yet manages to maintain her levity❤
On to the next phase of her career. Can't wait to see her compete! All the best Kaitlyn.
this is a very good interview, I could not leave it until it was done.

Congratulations Katelyn. You rock and wish you the best.
Really impressive woman. She will do well as a pro.
Congratulations Katelyn Tuohy!
Congratulations Katelyn! What a Champion
Congratulations to Katelyn on the pending graduation and of course this news! Great interview Chris.
No wonder Katelyn did this interview, Chris is a great interviewer.
So much happiness and positive vibes these two have:)
Great questions and interview. Been following KT for awhile. First time on your site. Nice work.
I wish her all the luck in he world though she won't need it, she's a solid runner!
Congratulations KT🎉
Absolutely amazingly fantastic interview you kept her at ease you didn’t have just workout questions or plan questions. Just awesome thanks.
It was only a matter of time given her rise over the past 3 years. Amazing, I hope you have an amazing Professional career and get to taste the Olympics.
Good luck Glad she went pro now. Hope she gets a good track coach
You go girl 👍 ......best wishes 👏......and yes Chris does a great job with the interview ....
It has been awesome watching Katelyn progress from high school on has been a great pleasure .....looking forward to more 🙂
Awesome she’s staying in the Raleigh area. Always cool to see her running at Umstead!
I'm so happy for you Katie! Stay healthy and do great things! You are capable of so much.
All the best KT, go ahead, I wish you all your success from my heart.
GO KATELYN ! ! ! ! ! 😀THIS COULD NOT HAPPEN TO A NICER PERSON.
Love this. She’s awesome!!!!!! 🌟❤️🌟

My thoughts on all exactly!! 🙏🏻💯👈👍🏻🙌🏼❤
I really like the behavior of ththese young people they got it right
One of the greatest to run in highschool and the NCAA
Citrus Mag we love you!!
Good luck Katelyn, and congrats!
Next level career move and training. Should optimize her strengths. Congratulations to this bright star.
Katelyn, and Caitlynn, have changed the nations (world's?) perception of women's athletics.
Way to go very happy for you ..😊😊😊
Excellent interview
Congratulations. The road ahead looks bright as you head for gold.
So far she's done a great job and hopefully it continues. That said, it means an even more grueling workout schedule, so I hope it all works out.
you are a great runner young lady...smash the pro's
Blessings
Way to go girl!!!
Big fan here and glad to hear the news. But always have a backup.
Good luck Katelyn.
At her graduation, Katelyn can join in with those chanting "We got jobs! We got jobs! ..." Big congrats, Katelyn!
Would have loved to have seen Katelyn in that last 5k as Parker broke the NCAA record and became the first to break 15' but looking forward to seeing Katelyn face faster competition.
She is the track and field version of Paige Beuckers.. So special loved following her growth.
I am wondering if a new coach will be able to better her times? Parker Valby changed coaches and had a huge increase in performance.
Great News.
How exciting would it be if she and Parker Valby get to have their next rematch at Olympic Trials?
Parker gonna be hard to beat i wish KT a very successful future
Please race in the USATF Cross Country Championships in Richmond next month!! Go K.T.!
Good luck KT!
Dang her best bet and trying partners would have been with ON
It would have been exciting if she mained her amatuer status to continue competing with Parker.
Ms. Valby will turn pro soon enough. They will continue to be rivals but I predict they will be very collegial ones.
Shell use her last year after valby graduates. She cant beat her anymore.
Cheering and kinda crying all at once!
Is she going to run the 26.2 in the future?
congratulations. She has dominated at every level. More than anyone, she deserves the contract.
I wonder if Katelyn will try cross training.
With a talent and dedication like Katelyn what else would one do.?
Must have been a nice bidding war with Nike
Fun fact. Chris is Lionel Richie's secret grandson.
Great decision
I don't think many people knew KT and some of her teammates where sick at XC championships, I didn't know at the time. It explains a lot why she didn't ran as well as usual.
She can not run track this winter right because she graduated
😔😔😟😟☹☹🥺🥺🥹
Olympics?
Congrats on going pro. I hope she finishes college.
Agree..not sure I agree w this decision..speaking as a dad.i wouldve like to see her go pro after she graduates...
She is graduating in a week or so...
Why do you want her to finish College ? College degree is a fake useless standard that society has come to pretend like it defines the individual. Degree means notbing!
I guess Parker really put a scare into her
@@jujifrogge5605 just saw that..I thought she had 1 more year..cool..glad she's done..that was fast..
The question that comes most readily to mind is, "Is she running from Parker Valby!?!"
too bad pros can't also run in the NCAA. Coaches in the NCAA are pros who make millions, why not the athletes.

So whenever tuohey loses to valby she was sick got it.

shell never beat her again.

Oh..i didnt know she can grad after next week..i thought she had 1 more academic year.
So..does this mean she can stay in college, just not officially run for NC state..meaning she doesn't have to leave school..just not run there..
She is graduating this December. She is done with college, just had more eligibility left.
😔😔😟😟☹☹🥺🥺🥹
