I’m using the 6s plus and still thrilled with what I have as long as the software lasted and the update of apps but I need to upgrade like a year and half ago. The phone surfs the web, makes calls, take photos, plays games. Not sure what we’re missing here.

Still have my 12 pro max and my 14 pro max , I kinda like the stainless steel and the chunky build of these models , I have largish mitts and old peepers, so the big screen models always look good too me. I like wider bigger devices , , and bigger devices have room for bigger battery, bigger keyboard, so yeah, always room for improvement. But the 14 PM is my daily and it still works like a beauty and still has 97% battery health , I’m in no hurry to buy a newey.
I have an iphone 11 pro,its still extremely fast, and has a great camera , the speed is just barely slower than even a 15 pro 💀even the camera quality at least in good light is not that far off But i wanna upgrade to the iphone 13 pro due to 1) my 11 pro battery life is starting to get worse , 13 pros are known for good battery life 2) i just want that extra speed that gets rid of certain hickups between loading , even tho the speed of my phone is pretty good 3) i want the overall better camera system with bigger cameras so better night mode, things like macro mode and cinematic mode 4) I don’t particularly prefer the boxy shape to my smooth round phone but i like how it looks so fuck it 😂 5) the storage is definitely a huge reason to upgrade for me (Side note, there is almost 0 difference between using the 12 pro and the 11 pro in day to day life, talking from experience, camera is the same quality, almost the same speed in everything etc

I decided to upgrade to 15 pro max just yesterday and I am quite happy. I’m waiting for a couple of years and will hope they have a major re-design on the 17.
I have all 3. ProMax(work), plus (sisters) and standard. (My everyday) I would have gotten the plus over the max. does everything every day that the pro does, it’s lighter and it’s less buggy.
I went from an 11 Pro Max to a 13 Mini because I got tired of lugging the size and weight, I love my 13 Mini but missed having macro and zoom feature so when I heard numerous rumors that the 16 Pro series were going to get bigger i purchased a 15 Pro two months ago and glad that I did as this is as big as I am willing to go in the future after many years with Apple, the current combination of a 13 Mini and the 15 Pro checks all my boxes in size and performance until and if Apple ever decides to offer a practical phone size again or flip version in the future.
I got both a 15 pro and a 13 mini when my 12 mini died earlier this year on a buy one get one at costco/t-mo. I tried the 15p for a couple of months but I ended up going back to the mini and it just feels so right, there isn't anything on the pro that would make me want to give up the form factor. The 15 pro is back in the box on shelf as a "Spare". 😅
I really think if they focus on the OS more so than the hardware Apple can attract more converts from Android. The hardware doesn’t change as fast as the hardware. But the software experience can push people to upgrade or switch. My 14 is great!!
I won't lie. I've been an iPhone user for six years. In terms of ecosystem, Apple have always been on top across all devices supported by their devices. But this year, I had to change! Their device design has literally not changed in over four years! It's depressing! I've moved over to the Honor Magic v2 Fold, and with a few add ons and updates, my new phone is top notch, without the notch!! My point is, both offer very similar features without the design compromises. Make a choice without being locked into a two or three year contract that forces your hand.
I am planning on getting my first iPhone, and I am leaning towards iPhone 15 plus , because of the battery and screen size . The AI features only exclusive 16 would be that good that I should buy 16 plus instead. As some features will be Available to all iOS 18 phones . Can anyone recommend me and tell me their perspective.
iPhone 14 Pro Max here, and I don’t plan to upgrade until iPhone 18 unless there’s a needed feature locked off to me in regards to the AI or similar features. I’ll likely change out my battery in the next few months, and then be good to go. I want to see turn the iPhone into a fully capably AI System that can interface with other bits of tech and operate them for me. Imagine plugging in a USB-C cable into a device, and being able to execute tasks or reprogram it from the iPhone.
15 ProMax -> to most likely the 16 Pro If I don't go to pro it will be ProMax. Honestly its only because I worked in a freezer/cooler for a year that destroyed my battery and now I no longer work there.

iPhone 6s Plus here. Proud and still going. I’ll wait again. I’ve said this 2 phones ago but maybe I’ll purchase a cheap $100 phone to satisfy till 17 when the design has changed maybe. Thank you for your honesty! I have the 13 Mini (256GB) and very happy with it. I'm just not seeing anything in any of the new iPhones since the 13 that are compelling. I have the iPhone for communications, online banking, photography and minimum entertainment. My real phone is my Ultra 2! Now that Dexcom has upgraded their app to directly connect to the Apple Watch, my need for a new iPhone just lessened even more. So, I will probably just replace my battery or replace it with an SE4 when the time comes. In fact I traded in a 128GB 13 Mini for a 256GB 13 Mini. I like the size, so I'll be sticking with what I have.

This incremental release year over year that displays new technology that’s been available for at least five years is pretty arrogant. But that’s all you’re seeing from any of these phone providers. There’s no day-to-day difference between an iPhone 12 and an iPhone 16. There’s no day-to-day difference between a Samsung S21 one versus a Samsung S24. The only reason you’re all going to see any significant changes if you stop buying these devices.
I'm still using an iPhone X with a broken back-glass that I haven't fixed. This year, the battery started to get all funky where it sometimes just reboots my phone and shows only 1% battery, then it goes into a reboot cycle until I try to smack the phone around and sometimes drop it purposely to fix it. I don't want to spend another $50 on a battery replacement so I'm just going to buy the iPhone 16 Pro (256GB) this year. Hopefully my phone is able to last till iPhone 16 releases.

I think I will - I have an XR and it's time to upgrade. I've been wanting to make the jump for months now, but I had a quandary: I wanted the 5x telephoto lens yet I didn't want that huge Pro Max phone (I have small hands and I can't even use the XR with just one hand). This looks like the 16 Pro, just a smidgen bigger than my XR, will do the trick!

This year I'll likely focus on upgrading my apple watch instead because mine is only a series 4. My 13 pro max still goes strong. I don't think the IOS will strain my phones capabilities in a noticeable way for at least another 2 years. The battery would likely get me by for another 4 years before charging becomes too frequent. I'll upgrade to a 17 if the redesign is cool but unless apple surprises us beyond what we've learned from the leaks for the 16, this year won't be the year to upgrade for most existing users. Idk tho... on off years, people say "wait for next year, the cool stuff won't be this year." But then next year people will say "This new stuff will be buggy because it's the first iteration. Wait until next year for the refined model." So like do you want to new features or do you want them a year later when they're more stable and fleshed out?

I’m still using my low-end 11 and I have yet to see a single feature that compels me to upgrade. Occasionally, I’ll try out a new model at the Apple Store. The moment I pick it up and try to find something cool to try, I realize that it’s totally identical to mine. Plus, I just swapped out my screen and battery myself. It was easy.

I have the 14 pro max and there are two reasons I'm thinking of upgrading-one has to do with a real problem with this phone, and the other has to do with my own specific need. 1. The battery on this phone has degraded considerably in the year+ that I've owned it, to the point where I can't get through the day without charging it. I've heard this is a common complaint with this phone. And Second, I do a lot of video and the Apple Log feature is something I really want given that I use my phone a lot for b-roll footage. I would just upgrade to the 15 pro max for that, but I'm waiting to see how the camera upgrades on the 16 pros will affect video, especially in terms of depth of field and dynamic range. If there's no real difference there, then I might just go with the 15 pro max.

I was thinking about upgrading because when the 15 came out the iphone 11 the last iphone in the list for trade ins. So I figured the iphone 12 which is what I have the 12 pro max technically. Will now be on the bottom of the list. I want to get an ok amount back for my iphone when I trade it in. Now that' I'm hearing about the ultra for the iphone 17 I'm tempted to just wait for that, but not sure if it'll be worth the wait and if my iphone 12 will be bumped from the trade in list.

The AI features only exclusive 16 would be that good that I should buy 16 plus instead. As some features will be Available to all iOS 18 phones .

iPhone 14 Pro Max here, and I don’t plan to upgrade until iPhone 18 unless there’s a needed feature locked off to me in regards to the AI or similar features. I’ll likely change out my battery in the next few months, and then be good to go. I want to see turn the iPhone into a fully capably AI System that can interface with other bits of tech and operate them for me. Imagine plugging in a USB-C cable into a device, and being able to execute tasks or reprogram it from the iPhone.
I have the 15 promax and I will not be upgrading until the 17 pro models come out next year
15 ProMax -> to most likely the 16 Pro If I don't go to pro it will be ProMax. Honestly its only because I worked in a freezer/cooler for a year that destroyed my battery and now I no longer work there.

iPhone 6s Plus here. Proud and still going. I’ll wait again. I’ve said this 2 phones ago but maybe I’ll purchase a cheap $100 phone to satisfy till 17 when the design has changed maybe. I’m glad you said this though on your opinion which sounds logical. But like you said since this is your job you kinda have to stay current to see your ideas on the product/s you have.
Thank you for your honesty! I have the 13 Mini (256GB) and very happy with it. I'm just not seeing anything in any of the new iPhones since the 13 that are compelling. I have the iPhone for communications, online banking, photography and minimum entertainment. My real phone is my Ultra 2! Now that Dexcom has upgraded their app to directly connect to the Apple Watch, my need for a new iPhone just lessened even more. So, I will probably just replace my battery or replace it with an SE4 when the time comes. In fact I traded in a 128GB 13 Mini for a 256GB 13 Mini. I like the size, so I'll be sticking with what I have.
I have the iPhone 13 and I want a upgrade bc it’s battery is horrible and I’ve been waiting for a 40 megapixel ultra wide camera bc the 12 megapixel is horrible but I signed an agreement with my dad that in 2027 he will upgrade all of my apple products and new one so no I will not be upgrading
Thinner bezels, upgraded camera, new size and AI integration. Everything I’ve been asking for! NOT. No flip or fold coming? This incremental release year over year that displays new technology that’s been available for at least five years is pretty arrogant. But that’s all you’re seeing from any of these phone providers. There’s no day-to-day difference between an iPhone 12 and an iPhone 16. There’s no day-to-day difference between a Samsung S21 one versus a Samsung S24. The only reason you’re all going to see any significant changes if you stop buying these devices.
I'm still using an iPhone X with a broken back-glass that I haven't fixed. This year, the battery started to get all funky where it sometimes just reboots my phone and shows only 1% battery, then it goes into a reboot cycle until I try to smack the phone around and sometimes drop it purposely to fix it. I don't want to spend another $50 on a battery replacement so I'm just going to buy the iPhone 16 Pro (256GB) this year. Hopefully my phone is able to last till iPhone 16 releases.
I should’ve kept my s22 ultra cause I’ve had nothing g but problems with my iPhone 14 Pro Max and my Apple Watch Ultra. Bee through 2 pro maxes and my watch isn’t charging. When it’s paid off fully I’m switching back to Samsung for sure. At least Samsung changes looks and the internal as well. Apple has fallen far. So disappointed with Apple
I think I will - I have an XR and it's time to upgrade. I've been wanting to make the jump for months now, but I had a quandary: I wanted the 5x telephoto lens yet I didn't want that huge Pro Max phone (I have small hands and I can't even use the XR with just one hand). This looks like the 16 Pro, just a smidgen bigger than my XR, will do the trick!
I love prime numbers, so it's going to be an iPhone 17 pro (and an iPad Pro M5) 😋... if I've got the money for those stuffs...😅

This year I'll likely focus on upgrading my apple watch instead because mine is only a series 4. My 13 pro max still goes strong. I don't think the IOS will strain my phones capabilities in a noticeable way for at least another 2 years. The battery would likely get me by for another 4 years before charging becomes too frequent. I'll upgrade to a 17 if the redesign is cool but unless apple surprises us beyond what we've learned from the leaks for the 16, this year won't be the year to upgrade for most existing users. Idk tho... on off years, people say "wait for next year, the cool stuff won't be this year." But then next year people will say "This new stuff will be buggy because it's the first iteration. Wait until next year for the refined model." So like do you want to new features or do you want them a year later when they're more stable and fleshed out?
I have an XS Max and I’m definitely going to be upgrading to the 16 pro.
Firstly I’m excited about the AI stuff. But also because I want a phone with a much better camera and battery life.

I'm not upgrading. I'm sticking with my iPhone 13 Mini. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will build another Mini iPhone in a year or two. I just like a smaller form factor, a few extra features would be great, but I'm never going to anything bigger than my old iPhone XR.
I’m still using my low-end 11 and I have yet to see a single feature that compels me to upgrade. Occasionally, I’ll try out a new model at the Apple Store. The moment I pick it up and try to find something cool to try, I realize that it’s totally identical to mine. Plus, I just swapped out my screen and battery myself. It was easy.
And I’ll be keeping my 15 pro max for ever as I’m not buying anymore iPhones , I’m sticking with Android, and I use the action button every day for the camera. 1 press for take a picture, hold for video, but I still like my S22 ultra better for most things.

I have the 14 pro max and there are two reasons I'm thinking of upgrading-one has to do with a real problem with this phone, and the other has to do with my own specific need. 1. The battery on this phone has degraded considerably in the year+ that I've owned it, to the point where I can't get through the day without charging it. I've heard this is a common complaint with this phone.
And Second, I do a lot of video and the Apple Log feature is something I really want given that I use my phone a lot for b-roll footage. I would just upgrade to the 15 pro max for that, but I'm waiting to see how the camera upgrades on the 16 pros will affect video, especially in terms of depth of field and dynamic range. If there's no real difference there, then I might just go with the 15 pro max.
Apple will never give us a bright color 😂why do you call them methodical? Bruh just give the customers what they want!!!! I want a bright vibrant color promax with a big battery I will pay for it just make it preferably in bright electric blue or in bright lime green or a vibrant ultraviolet that’d be cool get people talking again. Every cell phone reviewer ever on the question of if you should upgrade: if your phone is older it’s worth it, if it’s the latest generation - don’t. Why do TH-cam reviewers even cover this point with their videos? It’s literally the same topic in hundreds of videos from hundreds of reviewers; it’s not a fresh take nor is it genuine.
It’s also a little early to be giving that opinion, save it for after the new phones release because you might be surprised at what they show…I mean I doubt it with Apple, but this year might be kinda interesting with ios 18.
If you need a new iPhone because your battery sucks then upgrade if you don’t need a new iPhone then don’t upgrade. Don’t listen to the bullshit about iPhone 17 or 18 or whatever because they were predicting the USB-C all the way back to the iPhone 12.

I was thinking about upgrading because when the 15 came out the iphone 11 the last iphone in the list for trade ins. So I figured the iphone 12 which is what I have the 12 pro max technically. Will now be on the bottom of the list. I want to get an ok amount back for my iphone when I trade it in. Now that' I'm hearing about the ultra for the iphone 17 I'm tempted to just wait for that, but not sure if it'll be worth the wait and if my iphone 12 will be bumped from the trade in list.

I’ve never understood the logic behind a single-function button when the same function could have been added to any already-existing button. But the location of the action button is certainly unfortunate.

I went from the iPhone 8 Plus to the iPhone 15 Pro Max which was a huge upgrade for me, then at the same time, I don't feel any differences at all other than better screen brightness, better battery power, better performance, and a much better camera improvement. Rocking iPhone 13 mini. In the past I would upgrade every other year. Holding on to this phone until it is no longer supported. The newer phones are too big and heavy for me.
