I'm a 3 player and most of us don't behave like that. At least those who understand the 3 role
Pos3 players are generally better, unless its one of those carry players playing pos3 (they picked jugg offlane)
pos 1 seeing the pos 2 getting caught by the enemy team thinks he is hot shit and goes there to "mop up" and then all the rest of the team gets pinged because they didnt have bots on at 20minutes to tp into him. Also another legendary is pos 1 walks into enemy jungle in complete darkness dies and blames the CM for not warding their jungle.
Yeah, seeing how selfish core players(especially pos 1 & 2) are, who wouldn't even rosh when all the enemy heroes are dead, I don't think we support players can convince them.
If coming from behind suddenly everyone wants to rosh

Last match I played offlane centaur, called for team to get this cube, and only the supports showed up. POS 1 and 2 just run away even tp opposite side POS 1 farmed the ancient right next to it and tp away. Took them 30 minutes to come help attack this cube
Edited: they attacked it at minute 53, 30 minutes after it spawned
I think the time to suggest it is after a team fight if you don’t feel like you can take a tower and maybe you just won the fight near your triangle. It’s nearby and there really isn’t a better objective besides Rosh.
It's really frustrating that no one listens. There's literally no downside in taking down Tormentors but for some reason people don't wanna do it.

That's a big part of why I like going PL this patch (aside from him just being very powerful in general). Can take that thing without depending on people listening to me, which they were never going to do in the first place.
There is a downside tho. The map is huge now, and the Tormentor is in an inconvenient place, not near much farm or other objectives (unless you happen to be ready to push enemy offlaner T3). The only convenient way to get there is TP to your own offlane towers, which puts your TP on CD and leaves you in a bad part of the map.
I like the idea of the Tormentor and most of the time it is worth doing, but its location is the biggest downside at the moment and the reason it's so hard to get people to do imo.
Two nights ago I had all the ingredients for the block of cheese and couldn't convince my team to take the first rosh. We had CK, another stun, I'm PL with an invoker or something. Quote unquote from CK "Sorry I need to farm", like bro this is gold and exp for the whole team, enables you to farm, and I'm PL I'd almost rather just give you the block of cheese barrier. Anyways I spent over 2 min roshing solo, could never get the second one because Zeus mid+wards, no teammates. I just don't get it. I collected 18 of these fucking things, I need your help for 30 sec.
Small PSA for us supports, I've done the due diligence and tested the tormentor. Especially since our idiot carries are less willing to give us our shard.
Someone told me that you can actually spawn them in the lobby by typing "-createhero npc_dota_miniboss enemy"
I was experimenting with heroes that can solo it in 20 mins as a lvl12 with the least amount of items.

Pugna can suck... It takes a minute or two but bring a veil and 5 mangos he kills it
Shaman is pretty interesting because his wards deal SIGNIFICANTLY MORE DAMAGE to it, but he dies pretty fast. A way to alleviate this is to bring ONE INDIVIDUAL who can use debuff immunity

Enchantress is pretty interesting cause she has summons. But summons don't get targeted by tormentors (i think they did yesterday but i might be wrong) anyways build drums. Max Q and E and try to get an aura creep namely the baby centaur. Build is Rush drums->2 bracers->Casual cloak and you'll kill it in 20 mins
Brood dies of cringe unless she has 80 spiders, wtf are you doing with that amount and brood has mana issues for an offlane so support is out of the question
Lina can't sustain herself so that's a nope too
Snapfire's lvl2 kisses can't get through the magic 50% magic res
Chen has same issues with ench, he dies first before his creeps
LICH GONNA HAVE YOUR MAMA his chainfrost always runs out before It dies, but tormentors don't target his spire, which means at lvl25 you can solo it from a safe distance;)
Undying's zombies don't deal enough damage (and they die for some reason) and undying can't sustain himself
Stun supports like lion, ogre, jak, hoodwink etc. Are out of the question
Abbadon support has Negligible damage at min 20 but if you really want to... You can kill it with a deso and 4 bracers (must be min25) and a vampire fangs but you decide...
Techies, Gyro, Sky, Veno, Dark Willow, And all save supports are out of the question.
And lastly the hero that I've been spamming recently, My beloved Marci. I've done some bracer testing. Don't grief your game by building into rushing the tormentor, as a marci i usually either rush a bkb or a basher, somtimes crystalis if I'm desperate. She at lvl 12 kills tormentors as long as she has bkb plus a small damage item basher/deso/crystalis etc.
Small note yes YOU WILL NEED bkb to keep marci Alive

Enchantress can solo it with a hurricane pike. Just use the pike on the box and tp home immediately. Four attacks will destory it. You need to have vision of the tormentor of course.
As a mainly off lane haven't played much tho Dawnbreaker with shard and a damage items can do it as well you esp if you got a bkb
I found CK can solo it very easily with normal items
Probably the best hero to take torme tor early is slardar, at lvl 12 he just needs power treads, echo sabre and a wraith band

Hey, I'm a core and I love doing tormentors. After doing them enough, I will eventually get a free agh shard. Though it always sucks seeing Mirana get her shitty shard first.

I tilted for the first time in a long long time yesterday failing to get anyone to come do tormentors. Perhaps the name of the objective is actually based on the way it makes the one person paying attention feel 😄

Yep, another objective for supports to beg the cores to do and be ignored.
Underlord and AA feel very powerful right now as long as you have vision control of tormentors.
Ice blasting the enemy while they are attempting one wastes at least a minute of multiple heroes time even if it doesn't kill them which is a huge networth swing.
Underlord letting you do both tormentors back to back if you have map control is huge. Or drop your whole team on them while they are doing it for an easy team fight.
I can see the meta warping to teams fighting for vision of tormentors around the 18 minute mark

For the record, meepo can easily kill it solo at level 10 so 2 wraith bands, a dragon lance, and treads. So meepo is probably the most optimal hero to do this with considering his pure damage nukes, dps, quick leveling nature, passive health steal, and natural mechanism to split the damage. Hit level 11 and he barely loses any of his HP

I cant even get my team to pickup the xp ones at 7 min yet alone do rosh and 100% not do the tormentors so i hope people learn soon :D

@@bbear0_o every 7 mins on both sides... if your playing pos4 you should be running down the edge of the map at ~6:30 to steal the enemies xp tome.
A hint i've found out: Slardar + 1 (even at low-medium level) can do it easily because of Corrosive Gaze and his bash. I mostly play dual queve with a friend (mirana spammer) and we almost always do it around lvl 12-13, just the two of us.
I think it's challenging right now because it's new but better players will figure out how to rotate over their farming patterns to align with the 20 min mark. The real next level play is to rotate to the enemy side to take theirs by setting ward to high cliff and then double back after

Frankly, just jump into some unranked games, no amount of guides will help you without having *some* first hand experience actually playing it. Once you have 2-3 games played you might get a lot of value from guides though.
Bruh this is a game. Just hop on. U learn from making mistakes , TRUST ME i know dota 2 is full of super virgins that tell you to kill urself and uninstall the game if u dont buy boots after 4 minutes but fuck it just keep playing.
Yeah, getting my team to do these as a support has been driving me nuts. It's always the hero that can't do it alone that wants to do it.
The problem in pubs is that the shard usually goes to a support but you need the cores to actually kill it

100% it’s free net worth for your team and can be insanely useful depending on what characters you have.
If you have someone who rushes shard it gets them out of the pool of it too which is really great for beefing up your team fast.
I love doing early tormentors with lifestealer, he’s just so good at it with rage and life steal just being so good at dealing with tormentor reflect damage.
pro tip if ur a core player, if you get the last hit on the tormentor you get 250 gold, making it actually worth ur time doing it even if you don't get the shard :)

I don't know if this was wrong at the time the video was released or has subsequently changed but the damage reflection of tormentors is in whatever type of damage was dealt to it not magical as stated here. This means that if you have carries that do physical dps then most of the damage can be entirely avoided via the use of a crimson guard (since it is evenly split between the, let's say, 3 heroes present making the damage block 3 times as effective).

I feel like this is going to make pipe more important than greaves because it'll help with tormentor's reflected dmg.
You can also just kill them solo by using BKB. Remember that now BKB blocks all Pure AND Reflected damage, so with that active you can just slay them without any issue.

All of my teams avoid the cubes, I'll point out its ready at 20 mins and they always just say "nah we already have shard".
Even as a core I have to BEG my teammates to come kill the cube. Frustration

The reflected damage is not magical, but like blademail's, of the same type as it originated. So, on the contrary, the damage reflected is rather majoritarily physical since so is the damage it receives. Radiant's spot has +2 armor aura, dire's, +5 atk dmg aura; which I think ever so slightly favors radiance due to this aspect.
i kinda dont like this new patch, the objectives to win the game have remained the same yet everyone is so much more afk, meaning the enemy team is as afk, you can literally solo towers (nearly)

me as a sup player who has carries with no will to kill tormentors... I pick Enchantress and rush pike... kill both tormentors at 20 min solo... and get reported from my team because I didn't group up with them for 1 minute doin both tormentors and refilling my mana after those xD 5k avg mmr btw

I uninstalled dota with the new patch, not cause the patch sucks, but cause PEOPLE ARE FING ANIMALS AND I REALISED THE EXPERIENCE OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THESE ANIMALS IS WAY TO DEBILITATING TO BEAR.
Was bad enough with 2 objectives, push or rosh and people doing everything but those 2, now we got even more objectives and I seriously fear I'll have an aunerism at some point with this new patch.

Tormenotors are definitely not free 1400 gold, you are giving up map pressure and alot of farm, you jsut need the right time to do tormentor not just anytime...
Isn't that a very support sided view? I mean if you are near, sure take it. But if 3 cores have to walk there for 20 seconds (and then walk another 20 seconds afterwards), then it is defenitely not +1.4k gold for your team...
