I'm a beginner and "nose-up"-thrower. I tried these tips today. I practice at a 70m grass area with a 3m fence behind it. Today I got my River to fly, not only above the fence, but over the road and over the fence at the other side of the road. It must had been 100m with ease. Twice in two throws... Probably 30m further than my longest throw ever. Thanks boys! ❤️
I love how many memes I get to squeeze out of every video you guys post, and also I really love the advice as a starting out player, and your discs are great! :) I will be using Johanananas "because of aerodynamics" as a response to every argument in the foreseeable future thanks
Jonathan pronates into his release so he will never throw nose down until he supinates :) hopefully he reads this because I think it will be the only thing that will save his nose angle. -Mikey
@@OkieTradez Funny that you never bothered to film your 600 foot throws, but you're all stock tips in the videos (which seem to be a lot harder to produce). Keep on dreaming big, I suppose.
@@Spott123 Overthrow is saying the outside edge of the disc drops into his release, and they're suggesting rotating the forearm towards the palm up direction, or more of a "turn the key" motion which has been starting to gain traction the last year or two among some who "pour the tee" / "pour the coffee" does not resonate well for.
I have been playing for about a year, and have heard a lot about the importance of not throwing nose up. But, I have never really understood what it means until watching this video and seeing Johannes show the "pour the tea cup" movement with the wrist. I tried it out earlier today, and after just a few tries I added 15 meters to my Havoc, and you can really see how the disc pierces through the sky compared to when throwing nose up. Amazing video, thanks guys!
Another banger of a disc golf guide from my favorite discgolfers =) Also a good tip that helped me get rid of the nose up angle was to pull my thumb a little in (Squeezing the disc with more of the tip of the thumb)
Yeah I've noticed thumb placement alone can change the disc angle, like grab a disc and move your thumb around...the more foreward it is, the more the nose goes up, the more back and kind of "kyle klein" your thumb is closer to the center of your palm, the more the nose drops.
Can Dr. Johannennes please explain how throwing speed effects turn and fade on different types of discs? Like if the wonderfull fuse is thrown like speed 9, will that effect the -1 turn and make it -3 ? And is it possible to know when you're not throwing fast enough so that example Bolt get it's correct fighting path? That would be an interesting video 🙌🙌
Search for Latitude 64 flight chart. Look at the bottom where they show flight.patha of each disc for beginner, intermediate and advanced players. You'll see how some discs that normally fade left will go way right when thrown over 300 ft by an advanced player.
I feel you Jonathan!
Elbow is key. The way I explain to beginners is to throw with your elbow and let the disc follow. Imagine really driving your elbow around your body on a flat plane. Then you can use that same throwing motion to achieve different shot shapes by adjusting the elbow height or body tilt.
I explain that they have to throw with their shoulders… there is possibility that some one will pull the disk if they consentrate too much throving with elbow… yeah it is hard and you need practice! 😅
I started holding the disc on a slight anhyzer in my reach back, while also trying to reach out instead of back. I can throw much more nose down now and can hit 500 on a good flight.
Johannes looks like he could also get more torque and arm speed if he kept his arm closer to his hip during the latter half of his throw. Looks like his arm is getting too high, flailing a bit and acting like a kite slowing his rotation in the slow mo...Jonathan actually does this really well for as young as he is to the game, good job!
Pouring the teapot doesn't work for me, it's straining my wrist, but thumb + 3.14159 finger power grip does! It means I use pinky only on the very edge of the rim, partially underneath, partially inside. This makes my release smoother and improves the angle. Good bye occasional nose ups, yet still no problems holding the disc. Another thing that added some 10m/30ft to my throw was to move my thumb right to opposite of my index finger and squeezing the plate more instead of the rim. I bet that grip gives it more spin. YMMV but something worth trying out. Went from 120m/400ft to 80m/260ft after a medical incident last summer and recovered from 90m/300ft to 135m/440ft this summer. Not bad for a guy nearing 50.
“Nose down” is more in relation to your launch angle. You can throw nose down on a positive launch angle. And you can throw nose down on a negative launch angle (think air bounce)
backloading your grip would help too. It helped me get that nose down since i feel it's less downward pressue at the tip of your index finger and slightly more at your ring/pinky fingers.
I know the reason why distance is in feet. The US-audience is big. But since this is a Swedish and European production, why not just keep it in meters and let them do the conversion for once. SI-units are superior, always 💪
Love yr content but there is no quick fix for nose up. It takes tons of sweat, tears and peactice. However, some lucky people are just born throwing nose down and never had this issue
forget the tea cup.. if you start off nose up youll finish nose up.. i found a super easy nose down hack that works for ALL.. anyone interested for a collab??
Here´s discs and nice stuff we like and use =) /Jonathan

Thank you for finally releasing a sublimated jersey!!! It looks so good. I'll have to wait until it's back in stock to order one!
Yea but can we send videos in of what we’re doing wrong and you can give us tips as viewers?

"We're not elbowing a child." "That's disappointing." Man I love this channel.
4:20 Hahaha I started laughing out loud 😂 Bra och underhållande video som vanligt 😊😀😍
Dudes, I've heard these references before but no one really ever explains lol thank you! This channel motivates me to tlgo throw a round every video 💪

care to elaborate more, please?

Great lesson fellas, I learned alot. I also learned when I was 8 that feeding an ostrich through your car window at a zoo is a very bad idea.

@@kieronmckay4276 Excactly. Also you can press in harder with your pinky finger as well to help drop the nose a little

Hi Jonathan, this is Jonathan. :)
I was waiting for so long to see your next video. Thank you :)
You guys always make me laugh. Keep up the great videos.

On my throw you guys should do a sheath in la

One thing I noticed on Johnathan’s last throw, is that he wasn’t “pouring the coffee” on his release.

Good stuff! Thanks guys! Luckily, I really like practice! That means playing disc golf, hopefully!
Wouldn't miss ur show 🤟🫡🥏🥏🥏
Wow! Le Grace and Brave burst are sold out!!!
The humor is worth the price of admission... good info to.
And now I really want to see the directors cut with all the child-elbowing
The whooooshsound❤
cant wait to see how bad i really throw!
This is fine for a level fairway shot but what to do when the basket is much higher or much lower than the tee?
angle your shoulders up or down to match the slope to throw nose down while still hitting the proper release angle
what happened to zero soft gauntlet?
Johannes has a very pretty disc. Reminds me of Dynamics fuzion burst. It's so pretty 😍
Pet detective, ACE Ventura 😼😹
Love this😂
Sweet spot ave Ventura 🫰🫰
Well how do you throw higher without noseup or when you throw higher is it always nose up?

My fieldwork tomorrow. Thank you
I want to see what would happen if Jonathan followed through more up at the end
i would have thought they would have shown the "low aim"´shot that, throw lower to the ground to compensate the nose.
Be me and either throw nose up or straight into the ground 15 feet in front of the tee pad
backloading your grip would help too. It helped me get that nose down since i feel it's less downward pressue at the tip of your index finger and slightly more at your ring/pinky fingers.

FARther 😉
Ace Ventura*... ⛏️🫰⛏️🫰
content 10 but no frida so have to give the video a 0 out of 10 sorry dog
Aerodynamics and sport's injuries are overrated. Ignore them both.
finish your VR game so I can practice better ;)
Come on meow's, don't go down the clickbait route. It isn't what got you this far.
Way way too short video 😤
You mean "farther" whenever you talk about distance. "Further" has to do with ideas, to further discover something, or to further explain something.
😂 Or he is not an US English speaker. And further is what he means.
