    I’m a new vxr owner, didn’t know about the p4 issue until I looked further into the vxr.
    Very good video mate, could save a lot of £££ doing this every now and then 👍🏽

    On the spark plugs there is a little copper ring/washer, this is why they want you to tighten it to 25 Nm so that the ring is compressed ;-).

    Hi, if I could ask, how many kilometers or miles have you had on your dash when the pressure test have been done ? Did you have any modifications done at that time ? Have you drive your Corsa WXR onthe race track till that time ? Thank you! Very good content! 👍

    Should have removed the fuse for the fuel pump too but very good demonstration

      Kaniel Woodward that would’ve definitely helped reduce the amount of fuel vapour we were smelling for sure. Thanks man!

      HaphazardGarage yeah definitely haha there's a diagram of fuses in the owners manual telling you which one is the fuel pump 👍🏼

    How good are 170 175 results ?

    • @haphazardgarage6439
      @haphazardgarage6439  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Higher end of average. On these anywhere 160-180/190 max. I’d say is good. Some cars have higher or lower averages though!

    Someone can confirm the number fuse of fuel please? thanks very much

  • @Xopher222
    @Xopher222 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    surely when you hold the throttle wide open it doesn't inject fuel when cranking? i know a lot of cars are designed like this.

    • @haphazardgarage6439
      @haphazardgarage6439  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xopher I think ours was injecting. There was a bit of a fuelly smell. Nothing too bad, it could’ve just been residual. Removing the injectors fuse probably would’ve helped. We didn’t think it would inject until we tried it.

  • @SquadleaderMike
    @SquadleaderMike 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would upgraded injectors and maybe a upgraded fuel pump eliminate the issue?

    • @Dressagio
      @Dressagio 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think necessarily as part of it is poor inlet manifold design and part is also poor piston quality, I think it’s a number of things. When you map it for extra power you are asking maxed injectors to do the impossible, but on a stock engine you’ll just end up over fuelling. Best route is to service it every 4k miles to ensure engine is cooled thoroughly, warm it up and warm it down before and after driving, and don’t redline it. P4 failure happens at wide open throttle so drive it sensibly and you shouldn’t need to worry! If you want the extra power then forging would be better with stronger pistons and bigger injectors to cope with the lack of fuel☺️

      Not needed mate. Just turning over as if you’re starting the engine.

    If p4 fail how much does it cost to repair it ?

    • @haphazardgarage6439
      @haphazardgarage6439  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tiam Heydari it can range. Depends how early you catch it. It can be a case of replacing the piston or a full engine rebuild with reboring etc. Certainly not a repair you would want to be doing.

    • @tiamheydari2115
      @tiamheydari2115 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HaphazardGarage well I’m deciding to get one. After this video I’m not sure what should I do whats your thought ?

    • @haphazardgarage6439
      @haphazardgarage6439  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tiam Heydari They’re great cars. The newer body shape are supposedly more reliable because they have different, larger fuel injectors. Just ask for a compression test from the garage before you commit to buy. They will be able to provide those details.

    You shouldn’t use pliers to take them out next thing to do is use a magnet

    • @haphazardgarage6439
      @haphazardgarage6439  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tommy Cars&Games 97 Magnet would be a nice idea! I personally love our rubber glove improvised removal haha! That’s the fun with driveway mods! You can do what suits you so long as you don’t cause damage!
