    "Theres so much that goes into these videos that you guys don't see" Truer words couldn't be spoken! I bust my ass in my studio then head to the range to get the action scenes. Between that and piles of B-roll and editing. People have NO idea 😂

    I hope some MV Agusta designers can find work at Aprilia. An Italian bike can not have a dated design.

    • @moralrevulsionLive
      @moralrevulsionLive 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      67claudius man you are so true.saw an Rf which is the superior in a way model next to a 2017 r1 basic blue not m or anything in a used bikes showroom . And rf which was also like 4k more than the r1 unfortunatelly the looks were like you were comparing a 90s bike vs the new r1. I had a factory 2010 rsv4 . Back then it was one of the most beautiful bikes. But is like aprilia they cut all their costs on looks and threw all their money to engine develop and electronics . Kinda like suzuki. With better brakes😂

    I had a test ride a few days ago at that dealership and big kudos to the staff for allowing me to test ride with no hassle especially since they were so short staffed at the time. Absolutely loved the bike! Pros: Power was very manageable, tons of torque down low and can't get enough of that V-4 sound! I ride a VFR so I'm a huge fan. Love the display and electronics package. You def get a lot for your money. Clutchless upshift and downshift was awesome but took me a bit to get used to. Cons: Very tall bike (I'm 5'7 so I was very apprehensive at stops as I was tiptoeing!) ; I would consider switching to a 190 rear to bring it down a bit; ergos was what you expect of a superbike but surprisingly not too bad. Now i just got to find some space in my garage:)

    Nice review. I love Aprilia but I found the 17 RSV4 really uncomfortable compared to other sports bikes, and that was riding on track.

  • @massgass9131
    @massgass9131 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    mine came with a rear seat... bought new,,theres really nothing that it doesn't come with..the option for an exhaust...if you want to change the pipe you have to buy a race ecu from aprilia or you can run lean... theres other flash tunes that work with aftermarket pipes but it voids your warranty unless u use the aprilia ecu and have the dealer install it..or buy the hideous aprilia approved akrapovich which comes with an unlock code to unlock the race mode in the factory ecu...cost 1800 for the approved akrapovich

    It's not as if the fuel gauge comes on late, should have plenty of time to fill up, and should have topped up if starting a long trip anyway.
    As I see it, the style is good, no real need to play about and muck it up.
    There is a seat that fits in the tail section, it's as wide as the fins, so no fatties.

    Enjoyed the review. I think this could be the best superbike if they updated the styling AND the frame, along with some better, cleaner color schemes. However, with ducati bringing out a V4 panigale it might be game over for Aprilia. haha

    • @DukeOfDC
      @DukeOfDC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jaret Campisi thanks for the input man! Totally agree that the V4 Ducati puts out could be a deal breaker or the second coming for Aprilia. Can someone sale variable valve timing 65 degree V4 RSV4?!

    • @skidkritter9178

    • @DukeOfDC

    @+Duke of DC I'm starting to ride bikes now. I'm currently on a ninja 300 for about 2 months now. I really like Aprilia, but they was just too much engine for me to be my FIRST bike ever. So how long do you think would be enough time to go from 300 bike to a 1000 bike?

    • @ratchill010
      @ratchill010 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chadford Morris miles my man. Miles under your belt is all you need. No time set time or exact number. But you’ll know when you know. I’m guessing since you are already asking them you are getting there. Come out and test ride some. That helps too

    Hey Duke, very important question. I'm 6'3" and very interested in this bike. Would you say someone of that height will have any ergo difficulties on this bike? I'm currently on a 05 R1 and that fits me pretty nicely.

    • @ratt14thebests
      @ratt14thebests 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't know how much is 6'3" exactly (I am from Italy) and I don't know if at the end you bought the bike. Anyway I am 1.81 meters and my 18' RF is slightly, just slightly small for me. It is something I noticed the first time i rode it and now this sensation disappeared but that's not a big bike. Japanese bikes like R1 are definetly bigger. Also they don't feel as near as special too :)

    Man oh man I'm really debating between trading in my '17 Daytona 675r for this or an s1000rr, I love the TFT on the Aprilia but I know the '18 S1000rr is gonna have one. Only thing is I'm worried about being an early adopter of an entirely new platform, plus the S1000rr is quite a bit more expensive with the premium package.

      Life's short my man, I say if you have the financials to do it, then you should "Treat yo self" the 2018 s1000rr although very much new, will likely have very little early adopter issues. I'd say you'll be perfectly safe buying one and you'll have a mega mega bike.

    • @DukeOfDC
      @DukeOfDC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think these days the intervals are the same, but the cost would be maybe 10-15% higher. That being said, if you went to a local shop rather than dealership then I think you could easily get the work done for a comparable rate.

    Steering Dampner???

    • @DukeOfDC
      @DukeOfDC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes haha. It's a hydraulically controlled piston that effectively dampens the steering rake of a motorcycle to prevent tank slapping, among other things.

    Your language? Like driving behind a hog trailer full of pigs with indigestion. Now be sure to get upset and tell me to off.
    Otherwise, it's a great machine. Sort of guzzles fuel like a 454 Chevy though. Compare to the R1? Most shootouts favor the R1 slightly.

      I’m not upset with you for speaking your mind one bit!! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and support my channel. It most certainly guzzles fuel. My Tuono was worse on gas than my (non-hybrid) car lol

      Compared to the R1M I’d have the Yamaha, compared to just the R1, I’d have this in a heartbeat.

      You're welcome!
      Yeah for the street, I'm using a street bike. Haha. Race track bikes are not great at all on the street. They get fun after about 90 mph, because that's what they were designed to go.
      It really is sad that my 6,500 redline 1998cc car engine pushing a 2,900 pound mass around on 4 wheels can do 42 mpg at 60mph. I know bikes are aerodynamic bricks, but still...

    You know instantly when you have a great bike reaching into it for the first time. This is an example of such a machine. I will say gassing up sucks ass! The hole is so small (thats what she said XD LOL). Seriously tho its small enough for the gas nosle only so you have no clue how much gas is in the tank as your filling. And thanks for giving me a gas gauge jesus. My only gripes. Its delicious...

      +pxK that's both of the Tuono models, the RSV4s are 999.6cc which I believe is intentionally to keep them in the 1000cc class for racing. Anyway, check on aprilia if you don't believe me
