i remember attacking this army with 4 full stack of tomb king skeleton spears and the way watchers shooting at my men and loosing there balance of power for it
This is my campaign. thanks a lot legend for saving the battle. the army actually went to the sea but was later finished off. I personally don't like cannons too but tzeentch was coming for me with big birds so i thought they would help. hope everyone enjoys the vid✌
If I were you I would have built an army with 4 hunters, 4 handgunners, 4 hellstorms and 2 cannons lead by a huntsmen general for increased range. The hunters can fire whilst moving protecting the handgunners and in this case could ambush the waywatchers despite having less range. Putting the cannons on the flanks while corner camping destroys enemy cavalry slowly trying to flank you.
Cannons are meh, you need some lvl40 empire captain with HELLBLASTA UOLLLYU GAAAN!!11 but yeah, it's still tier5, so cannons can go as well for early stages
@@torquevonthorne948I feel like Hunters will get smoked by waywatchers. They will get spotted and torn to pieces in all likelihood. I mean it could work but im just skeptical of this build i'd need to see it in action to trust it.
In my first Tomb Kings campaign I conquered all of the territory that this army patrolled through and then used the Sandstorm edict to attrit them to nothing.
Oh god, I remember these guys. In my most recent Settra campaign the lure of the extra army their Book of Nagash gives you was too much, and I trampled over foreign territory to attack them with a fairly early game TK army. Cue an absolutely gruelling battle which I won by the skin of my teeth mostly thanks to Mr Rules himself. The loss of power I suffered as a result of the army getting shredded caused Volkmar - whose territory it was - to declare on me and immediately start gobbling up my empire behind me. Absolute nightmare.
The Lizard-Wood Elf Hybrid Rogue Army from Hell is a fantastic title for the video. An apt description for a powerful, yet not invincible, rogue army of Lizardmen and Wood Elves.
I just beat this recently in my Volkmar crusader themed campaign. Empire nights and nights of the Blazing Sun dominated the flanks, taking out their cav and Waywatchers. Then they ran around drawing off units. The units that came at my main army got destroyed by mass fire from Free Company Militia. Volkmar buffs them like crazy in his army
I conquered southlands, southern wastes and lustria with just volkmar, few hellstorms and heroes and rest were free company militia, on legendary. They are so good for that price.
Some of these rogue armies are pain, apparently there's one from the Imperial college of Altdorf, and it's an Empire Weapons Teams doomstack, with hellstorm rockets and siege tanks.
This army actually exists for other factions, I distinctly remember throwing Grombrindle with a Thunderer/Longbeard/Cannon/Bone Giant Ally stack at it while playing as Thorek
These rogue factions are pretty cool. I wish there was more of them, tailored to each faction, to be challenging. I can think of a number of factions who would have had no trouble dealing with this, such as Chaos Dwarves cleaning everything up with spells and mortars and dealing with the single entities with their bale taurus. Khorne charging in with their bloodthirsters.
I remember these guys. They are the first army Arkhan needed to fight in order to obtain a book of Nagash. If it is duable with tomb kings with just a couple constructs, the Empire can handle them 🙂 I think you committed too many heroes against the monsters. A couple should have been free in order to be in melee with the ww
As much as you were saying you didn't need to keep units pinned down, engaging weightwatchers in melee packs them together and keeps them visible, letting helstrom batteries wipe them easily. Putting 2 captains at a time into such engagements would be worth the blobs for the Helstroms to take out. First the weightwatchers would blob around them, then the melee infantry sent to kill the captains blobs up right where your artillery is firing. Also setting the cannons to hold fire and targeting them on single entities earlier might have helped. But killing shielded infantry with handcannons is easier than killing weightwatchers with them. Just need to move your infantry apart and crossfire so your infantry are always shooting into the back or side of an enemy unit.
It's funny how bugged these armies are in multiplayer. I played as Khatep with a friend who played as Alith Anar and went after the DE army with chaos units in it in Lustria, I forget the name. I beat the army but didn't fully wipe them out. They continued to make more armies and raid all of my friend's territory for the rest of the session after he conquered Lustria and he was unable to declare war on them for some reason.
Rogue armies are such a cool concept that it's a damn shame they have no real purpose in games. Should be dogs of war, should be hireable via the alliance mechanic.
Laughing that something supposedly made as a small tribute to Turin is from Hell-what you tryin’ to say sir? I laughed slightly harder at Temple Guard “not being the problem” As an unashamed fan of Rouge Armies (and especially Rouge Pirates), always enjoy watching these folks be a massive pain in your ass
I don’t agree about bringing two armies to beat this rogue army. You can beat them early without artillery by attacking, skirmish kill as many dangerous units as possible, then retreat from the battle before taking too many causalities. Then just attack again on the same turn. If done right, the second fight should be easily doable. Most enemy units are fairly slow.
@legendoftotalwar, I have 2 questions. First are the vampire counts still a great option in TW Warhammer 3? Second will you ever get back to that Nagash campaign? (If vampire counts are still good should I do Manfred or Vlad?)
Honestly some cavalry instead of the cannons might not have been a bad idea. I know that cavalry isn’t great in Warhammer but it could have tied the waywatchers down
Playing Palword at the moment. I probably would have started it by now if not for that game. Thinking about maybe trying out araby first, but the empire no defeat run is on my to do list still.
......why do the AI not get to do the Books of Nagash stuff when you're playing as other factions? That's super lame, every legendary faction should have access to their full complement of options, secondary objectives included. So what's up with all the neutral pirate armies (that hold Pieces of Eight) spawning on the map still, regardless of what faction the player chooses? Do the AI still go after those, speaking of which? I can't think of a time when more than 1 or 2 of those armies were defeated by the AI, they always stuck around into the late-game otherwise. Why do those spawn but not the Books of Nagash armies etc? Muh lag? It's not like CA cares THAT much about grand map optimization, they've done a great job post-release but there are still plenty of well-known performance bugs that go unresolved, so that's a poor excuse/couldn't be the actual reason. Edit: Good fight and good video regardless, I just never noticed that discrepancy before you pointed it out at the beginning of this video.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a little late in the campaign ? I usually just declare war on this faction and let it run to the closest garrison and die
Dont Underestimate The Lizard-Wood Elf Hybrid Rogue Army From Hell
"I was reincarnated in a parallel universe and my lizard-wood elf army is ridiculously op" ~ Nicolandor
“Hey Peter remember the time we fought the lizard-wood elf hybrid rouge army from hell?”
“Legend of Total Wah heeeyahhh”
i remember attacking this army with 4 full stack of tomb king skeleton spears and the way watchers shooting at my men and loosing there balance of power for it
You mean your boney boys ☠️
You mean your boney boys ☠️
ngl this is the most hilarious way to win a fight i could think of
That’s beautiful.
I used 2 stacks of Vampire Counts skeletons with 2 Mortis Engines, all blobed up and positioned in a forest to block arrows.

Hellblaster volley guns are a good substitute for cannons
In my first Tomb Kings campaign I conquered all of the territory that this army patrolled through and then used the Sandstorm edict to attrit them to nothing.
i did the same thing back in wh2 :D
That hybrid faction is a menace. Those races are great at covering each other's weaknesses.

It's rare to see you struggle on a fight. Just shows how strong this rogue army is.
The Lizard-Wood Elf Hybrid Rogue Army from Hell is a fantastic title for the video. An apt description for a powerful, yet not invincible, rogue army of Lizardmen and Wood Elves.
7 artillery, 6 ranged units, and only one unit of melee to stand in the way? Glad you managed to sort this out for him.

Shoutout Turin the wood elf general

I think you did really well, this is the kindov fight that is hard for the Empire and I feel like one or two mistakes is all that it takes to lose.

Usually, I assault such rogue armies multiple times with a captain and attack them only when they lose half of the health.
Empire battles just hit different
Looked good to me legend. Only thing i would consider different is splitting up the heroes to harass the range
LEGEND YOUR MEDIEVAL 2 BLITZ RECORD HAS BEEN BEATEN!
Legend you can only start your video title with "Don't underestimate..." cuz you made that a meme now.
I don’t think I could’ve done better without a couple of failures. I think the few mistakes made you mentioned while correcting.
these armies cannot replenish, so causing attrition to them in any way can pretty much render them harmless and autoresolvable.
Mmmm I love the smell of Hellstorm Rocket Batteries in the afternoon...
Welcome to the Araby, jentlemen! I will not lie, the chances of your survival are small...

Question unrelated to the video (sorry): if i ally or vassalize the chaos dwarves, how much of their limited number units can i recruit in total?
One day ill have that micro. ❤
There was no Video yesterday correct? Kind of worried me.

gryphon knights with halberds would be useful
Decent job mate😂
What purpose does that one unit of spearmen serve exactly?
We are Sigmar’s ass!
I truly hate fighting wood elves in any way shape or form
You did, as always :)
it's me or this video looks over sharpened?
When is the no defeat empire campaign coming legend?
After Pharoah, Legend's favourite game.

Do the units shout: "For friends" or "for France"? Is this a joke?
Neither. They shout for Franz. As in Karl Franz, the emperor of the... Empire.
no man ; :P they say "for Franz" as in Karl Franz
Omg, okay... that makes more sense. :D
Kinda feels like fighting thr Vietcong

rogue armies always suck, would be suck if we could pla y as them
Jesus, is that really WH3, the latest total war game? This shit looks SOO bad lmao
