- Mike Sigel faced Mika Immonen twice at the 2010 Predator World 14.1 Championship, and this was the first of those two matches.
The legendary "Captain Hook", Mike Sigel had won over 100 major titles in his illustrious career. Those titles spanned many different disciplines, but Sigel specialized in straight pool. He won the 1992 US Open Straight Pool Championship and was named the Billiards Digest "Best Straight Pool Player" in 1991.
In 2010, "The Iceman" Mika Immonen was at his career peak. He had won two straight US Open 9-Ball titles, was named the "Player of the Decade" and had been the #1 ranked player for two years.
Midway through this match, Sigel makes a ball with a questionable hit. Danny Diliberto notices the shot right away, and Immonen isn't too far behind him in asking about the shot. Sigel said it was a good hit and continued his run. The shot comes at the 31:23 mark in the match. You be the judge.
Danny Diliberto and John Bender are the commentators for this one.

@@allenhammond6172thanks
He definitely double hit the cue ball.🤣
The 10ball on shot 39:15 was a clear miss ......... I play pooltables where this particular shot never drops ............. But I still enjoy watching videos of Sigel playing straight pool (from the 80s and 90s). Still the best ever (at that game) in my book 😀
Was a foul. For sure, but great run nonetheless
Where was this?
Not a foul. Mika is a prima dona. Should’ve spent less time looking at the camera and more time looking at the balls. Missed an easy shot on his first rack and didn’t get another chance.
Danny was crying about someone making a mistake by using MA for Maryland, when it is MD, then he makes a mistake right away saying Mika won the lag so he will shoot first, when it was Mike who won the lag and he had the first shot.
Mika did win the lag, his ball is closer to the rail. In straight pool if you win the lag you get to decide who breaks and nobody choses to break in straight pool. It sounds confusing because he says you want to be the one who shoots first but he's referring to the second shot because the first shot is always a defensive safety and the second shot is really the first chance to pocket a ball or play safe. The person who shoots after the break has a much higher chance of controlling the game early on. When players are at this high of a level sometimes the person breaking will take 3 consecutive fouls and go -18
Foul
christ the size of the pockets 😂😂
This game is played on big pockets? That’s just the way it is.
He only won events in the US. Never competed vs the Asians.. only the ones that came over to the US. Efren and Ralf S have the most international titles @charlieb308
not true earl strickland

standard size on gold crown 5 inch
100% Siegel fouled that 10 ball and that shows you who mike really is as a person. I’ve never liked mike Siegel and this further help my dislike for him.
I remember this. I have always agreed that this was the result of the old generation 14.1 vs the new generation 14.1
My father saw guys like mosconi, west, mizerak and others play and those kinds of plays always happened and none ever called a foul.
Fast forward and we know how much the game has changed. That gets called a foul today all the time.
So honestly, who is right? Especially during this timespan in pool where this was seen as the swan song for all the old timers.
Mike long in the tooth.
Sigel is the greatest player to ever live.

Lol. Never won anything internationally. Only US

10 was clean 👌
Why are people saying he fouled? I'm new to pool.
@@onepocketnovice It's a double hit when the balls are that close. If the cue ball travels forward its a foul. And Mike Sigel is a scam artist
@@onepocketnovice because cueball went forward, so it's obvious that he double hit it
