The bolts on what go through the door to the actuator arnt Allen or torx they are actually splines,many think there damaged by someone previous

Took mine out and absolutely drenched it in contact cleaner and worked first time. I’ll see how long it lasts. Took photos of the part number if I need to order one in the future.
I don't know if you found out later. But they're not rounded off. They're spline drive fasteners, not torx. You've got some now ofcourse as I see you get a Halfords Advanced set further down the line. But I haven't got that far yet.

@@stuartwinstanley4949 how does the actuator connect to the outside door handle ? As my TT seems to have a similar problem? It will open from inside but not the outside handle.
Do i need to replace the outside door cable if there is one or the whole actuator ?

would u be able to open the panel with the door locked? my passenger door wont open, need to replace the window motor module
I should imagine it’s going to be very difficult to get inside with the door closed but I would definitely give it a try, even if you damage the door card to do it, you can always replace it.
Hi fab video!!! - can I ask please - before I fork out for an actuator and find out I explored the wrong issue. My central locking unlocks the passenger door but not the drivers. I have to wind down the windows and unlock from the inside to get in... is that the door lock actuator?
Hi brother, can u help me with a problem I have with the Central Locking Switch. With the key it closes and opens the door, but with the driver's Central Locking Switch it doesn't work, when you want to lock it it just blinks and doesn't close, what could it be? Thank u and nice video ッ

Is the Torx tool to undo the actuator part of the tool kit in the boot?
No sorry ... its not torx its a M8 spline to undo the actuator ...

@@RevivingSalvage Good evening, it started not to open from the outside and then from the inside .. I also found the key on the side of the passagere door. but basically I was thinking more about a severed electrical cable d or not power to the lock .. in any case I think I need access to the beam at the level of the black sheath before redoing?
I would say check the wiring in between the door & wing it could be split. Then check the acuator

I bought the door actuator from Ebay you just need the serial number for the correct parts.

@@Fanzyann It is NOT a 'drill bit'. [That is something else] Not Torx but M8 spline. As below.
I would remove yours & match the serial number from that... I always check with the serial numbers.. can be so many versions 😫
Hey mate love the channel would there be any chance I could pick your brain I have an Audi TT 2008 when I push the fob it makes the sound of unlocking but the doors do not unlock have you any idea the fob is definitely working it's like the central locking is not working on either door I have to put the key in put the window down and open the car from inside to get in. Any help would be much appreciated thanks but 👍🔓
I have the same exact problem but now I’m not even able to get the window down! Panic, unable to get in the car.
It could be a fuse or just need some WD40 on the locks 🔐... I dought the two door acuators would go at the same time?
Try some WD40 on the locks 🔐...

What happened to the yellow cable that came with the module? Isn’t that the thing that connects to the outset door handle? I don’t see the part where you disconnected and re connected it
The other end of that short 'yellow' cable has a ball on it which sits in a cup on the back of the exterior handle, then hooks upwards so it engages, then immediately down. The plastic collar locks into place below it. If you look into the door when it's cinnected, the 2 ends will be at rougly the same height as eachother and the cable will form a U shape

@@c7uk Thank you, can you remove the cable from the exterior handle without disassembling the exterior handle? I have access to it from inside the door panel just like in the video but not sure how to go replacing the cable.
@@PhoeniXSkye8 Yes it comes out really easy without removing anything else. Twist the yellow part a quarter turn towards you, then unclip and pull forward, then the white piece at the other end unclips inwards. The cable above is just looped upwards

Sounds like it try some WF40 in the door. Mechanism first
Hello, new subscriber here! Great video and content! I have the same model but with a key lock on the door. Doors don't open with key fob but they do manually. Do you think I need a new actuator as well or key fob programming?
I would try a bit of WD40 first it might just need a little lube... could be a battery in your fob that needs changing...

I honestly don't have time to work on my own cars at the moment. Is it the same fault 🤔 have you bought a replacement door actuator?
You think taking it off was hard? Putting it back on is even harder.

Bad tutorial, you didn't show how you unplug the 2 plugs from it, that's the hardest part..
To be honest I didn't know how to do it myself and it was very difficult with the camera lol
