I've watched about 10 of these videos so far and can I say I appreciate how you took the time to learn how to use a tool before you made the video instead of figuring out how to use the tool while filming the video. Informative comprehensive well done
Always great to watch your videos. As a hobbyist for so many years and often gone the route of quantity above quality, i have now been converted to practicalities and quality. I am now for my limited use fully Festool, Knipex and Wera. Loving it all. Really enjoy your clear straight forward and real world approach to tools. Please keep it coming
"Might as well use a 10mm (socket) here…" And that was the last time that socket was seen, gone to join all left socks and other 10mm sockets in dryer-ville. :-)
I like mine , I just bought the Ratchet as a bare tool , I made a consolidated kit with my two tool checks , saved some space by putting the metric sockets on a scrap piece of Snap 0n , put the possidrive , and metric hex in a bit block , I already had a shit metric ton of extensions ! All up , it’s lighter and more compact than a full set ! Bottom line , love the ratchet !
Wera isn't inexpensive, but they replace so many tools that it about evens out. So much less to carry as well... Thanks for making it easy to understand,
Yup, the ratcheting screwdriver replaced most of my screwdrivers. Just put in my own 1 inch bits I use most and I’m good to go. I just carry another #2 square (most used) && a beater flat head
I got this set on black Friday. It's in my everyday bag. It really comes in handy. I bought the extra standard sockets to go with it. I highly recommend adding it if you haven't
I’m with you Sir , I totally hate dedicated nut drivers , good 1/4 drive can easily handle up to 5/8” . If you have both standard , and deep , and a couple of other adaptors , you have it made in the shade !
It depends on which extension you buy. I believe the one I linked below is the locking version. Wera does have both kinds available though so depending on which type you like
It should do just fine, mine are normally involved in plumbing type uses, fixture installation etc. its just 1/4” ratchet though so I would assume you could push it beyond its capabilities. Wera makes some very nice 3/8” drives as well in this style for heavier work. Overall its a solid little ratchet, I think I have 3-4 of this model at this point. They’re just handy.
That’s true… almost every kit they have has Robertson in it though. I’m guilty of moving out the pozi bits and adding #2 Phillips and Robertson instead from another set
I purchased the Wera 1/4" Zyklop (stand-alone tool) with the bit drive holder and extension. However, I'm quite surprised by the amount of play in a socket, the bit drive holder, and/or with/without the extension bar added. Is this normal? I've watched many TH-cam demos on the Zyklop but see or hear no mention of it. Can anyone provide input/feedback on whether I might have received a defective tool or whether this is normal? In advance, thanks!
I don’t think an excessive amount should be normal at all. I wouldn’t say mine have no movement but it’s minimal and what I’d expect. I’d warranty it. I believe they’re lifetime on defects.
@@MillisConstruction Thanks. On further inspection, I don't feel much play in the Zyklops itself. It's when I attach the extension bar and/or bit socket when the play arrives. I'm suspecting that this may be by design? Again, thank you for the prompt response and superb TH-cam videos!
Quick update. Got in contact with Wera Customer Support. They had me send them a video and have confirmed that the play is usual/standard behavior. For the little that I've used it so far, I'm in love with it. Thanks to you for making me aware of the Zyklops and just how handy it is.
KC has a very similar one in SAE www.kctool.com/wera-004019-zyklop-speed-ratchet-1-4-drive-sae-set/ That’s not an affiliate link there, but there is one in the description to the KC site if you’d like to use it 😊
Hey guys! Here’s an old but great tip video I did with this Ratchet and Extension! th-cam.com/video/emWUbBQzmgk/w-d-xo.html Check it out and don’t forget to like this video and subscribe for more awesome tool reviews!
6:19 not everything, the Wera joker ratchets are very meh level of engineering, I just got the Wera tool check plus and I will say that is very well thought out just that all of the components are very small, I was hoping they had a set with the same set up and the zyclops ratchet
@boogiedahomey Canada has half assed gone metric ( groceries , distance figures on roads etc ) , we are not so lucky on fastenings , construction materials , wire guages etc!

Thanks a lot! I try 😁
Thanks Joseph, love anything Wera 😎😍😎😍😎

Is this a Zack Galifianakis character? Getting "Baskets" vibes. Great review anyway!

Germans sure knows how to make amazing tools.
That they do!

Zyklop + Basin Buddy. Genius. thanks once again !

How much was it
What are the standard extra sockets ?

You're the only person that doesn't say "zyklops". And I thank you for that.
Have std & metric sets, got 1/4 ratchet for my plumbing bag with extensions to use with Superior basin buddy, love all the angles
U have "std". go to the doctor.
Awesome Wera tool… sweet review as well sir.. have a great and safe holiday weekend…👍👍👍
You too!!
Awesome engineering!
Welcome to the channel! Thanks for checking it out Norman 😁
Torx 27 are very common on chain saws, strimmers, hedge trimmers, that sorta thing.
Thanks for taking your time to make this video.
I will definitely buy this tool set.
You’re very welcome! Thank you for taking your time to watch it 😊
Just bought this set and can't wait to try it out, great review
Use this set myself very handy 👌
T27 is a popular Torx bit
I haven’t seen any recent videos??? Hope you are well and look forward to seeing more videos
Cool kit
Wera puts a lot of thought into them that’s for sure! Thanks for checking it out!
The T27 bit is for Stihl Chainsaws.
Now that I did not know, just an odd size that I haven’t run into before 😅
And found all over Harley-Davidson motorcycles too...most useful.
Thank you for your video. Do you think the screw bits can be used on a power tool/drill as well? Thank you.
Absolutely! Just remember these aren’t impact rated so a drill is ok but not an impact 😅
I’m going to have to order a set !
Tq.
I have a hard time removing rapid head from the extension bar...is there a release button anywhere?
The center of the ratchet head has the silver release button.
@@MillisConstruction I mean releasing the rapid head that is connected to the extension bar
with the extension, when i install a socket, is it locket too?
It depends on which extension you buy. I believe the one I linked below is the locking version. Wera does have both kinds available though so depending on which type you like
How rough, tightening can you get with this? Other than heavy torquing, I am asking just normal bolts, screws, etc that need good tightening.
I have one and it’s good up to about 25 NM
is the rachet 1000v rated aswell?
You are going to turn me into a wera user yet
Also everything was in metric but no Robertson bits :(
That’s true… almost every kit they have has Robertson in it though. I’m guilty of moving out the pozi bits and adding #2 Phillips and Robertson instead from another set
Very informative! Loved the “freedom units” 😂

do they do this in a SAE?

To be totally honest , I wish the World would go Metric , and 220 !
@boogiedahomey Canada has half assed gone metric ( groceries , distance figures on roads etc ) , we are not so lucky on fastenings , construction materials , wire guages etc!
Haha. Freedom units, or to put it another way units the rest of the world has given up on.
I wish someone would steal my existing socket wrenches so I could get this instead. I really do.
"Freedom Units" seriously ?
Seriously? No? I have fun on my channel though
It’s funny to me how people react to that comment. I bet it gets me 25-50 comments per day 😆
