Nince one! You don’t make the best of ultralight reels and rods of the year anymore? It will be nice if you can.You make, like always great Videos. All the best, and Mary Christmas 🎉
sorry, i don't go there, its dangerous.. people get issues with shipping from overseas and then they blame me.. Just google and u will see the most popular shops..
Great review thank you! I'm a little disappointed that shimano fumbled the ball when it came to the sensitivity, but it still seems like an amazing rod for the price.
I said in the video that i use oil based polyurethane. I have a How To video if u search for it. U-40 is safer butnoffers less protection and doesnt look as nice. But its safer.
"Don't tell me you don' t some free time today"....SO TRUE, hilarious! Glad I saw this as i was going to purchase for twitching w/my BG-1 jig heads. What are your rod recommendations for twitching, fishing of the bottom and for 2" Keitch swim baits? Love to purchase several technique specific rods but do not believe my better half would agree with me. Tks for the vid!
for 2" Keitech swimbaits this rod is amazin. Incredible distance from bank. For twitchng.. god help me the best rod right now is the 6'6 Shakespeare Micro Light L-power. If u can tolerate short rods, there is a great rod from Fenwick HMX 5'6 UL, that is super sharp and has very expensive guides. But its kind of short for fishing from the bank..
I'm a recent subscriber and am enjoying your content and knowledge. I recently picked up this rod and cant wait to try it with spinners for trout. Can I ask if you sealed the reel seat cork as well? Happy fishing and thanks for posting!
Thanks for the excellent rod review. It sounds as though this rod (with the Sahara reel) would be a nice combo for trout fishing in medium sized streams using small spinners and spoons. The moderate action would likely help in casting accuracy, based on my experience... Best wishes to you and your family !👍👍👍
I use my ultra light on my small river we got huge trout 5-10lbs get to cold so weather breaks a lot of em. 20 to 10- what a good cold weather rod that not going to break due to weather. Also you try the Shimano scimitar. 39$
Thanks for the advice about sealing the cork. I love this rod. I was going to buy the ShimanoFJ to go with this, but now I am up in the air about what to do. Daiwa is clearing out its old reels & replacing them with Zaion , all the way down to the Revros, so I am thinking I can buy the new reels that are stronger and lighter…..or buy the older ones on clearance prices………including the Procyon…as low as $119. So many models, too many choices…..but for $50, can’t beat this rod and the Shakespeare micro is fine for light fishing, too. I don’t need super light and expensive breakable rods
Any thoughts on Fenwick’s HMG, HMX or their Elite Finesse lines? I’ve been using their HMG rods for salmon, bass and other fish, and they have some UL offerings in these three lines that look pretty appealing.
looks like they renamed the old model panfish. Desn't look like a 2024 rod. Just check my channel for review of the old sensilite. Looks like thats the rod.
@@spinningrodfisherman i think they renamed the old models and are selling them out at lower price but different name.. Not a bad rod at that price.. watch that review..
Привет, скажи пожалуйста, какой по твоему ТОП -3 удилищ у тебя для лайта и ультралайта на сегодняшний день? я имею ввиду чувствительность , огромное спасибо
I have a playlist with rod reviews.. Everything from Japan is super sensitive. Corto, Barbatos, Eradicator, Presso Air AGS, Yamaga Blanks.. all of these are incredibly sensitive
I just went back and read what I wrote. Sedona FJ was my first choice to match this rod, but then the Daiwa avalanche of choices was put in front of me……but one thing I forgot: New Shimano Stradic FM. Lordy mamma………hard to not consider going to $200 to get that one.
I use 6'6" Presso's for fishing floats for panfish mated with Daiwa Exceler 2500 xh's. I love them very much. Having said that, I might considering adding these as my primary backups. I have a Sensilite from 2 years ago. It's not fantastic at anything, but very good at several things. I use it as a backup float rod and could easily press it into service casting small cranks and jigs. I just ordered 2 of last years Daiwa Fuego's at $60 each. They will replace my old Shimano Sahara 1000's on my walleye vertical jig rods. They will be mated to St. Croix Avid 6'3" ml jig rods. these rods are almost 10 years old and fish like brand new. Even landed a 40# flathead on one of them. I want to thank you for your reviews. You were directly the reason I picked up the Presso rods and Exceler reels. I got the reels for $45 3 years ago. They are bullet proof. Subbed a long time ago. Loved those perch videos in Chi-town.
Is it compatible with 20 version 23 version spool? Legalis
I dont know
That’s a good looking rod. I love rods with a finished locknut that hides the threads. It makes cheaper rods look more high end. Great review!

I will try
That is a nice looking reel.
👍🏼
Amazing video and review. Where could could I order a soare xr from and what size/weight reel would balance the 8ft model?

Ok no worries:) people really shouldn't blame you it's not like it's your fault that shipping companies don't do their jobs properly
Merry Christmas Victor!🎣🎅🦌🎄☃️🎁
thanks Buddy
Great review thank you! I'm a little disappointed that shimano fumbled the ball when it came to the sensitivity, but it still seems like an amazing rod for the price.
Its still a great buy for swimbaits and float! Even dropshot if u like braid!
Can’t expect good sensitivity when the rod is $50. The zodias and exprides line up have excellent sensitivity but those rods are $200-$280.
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!! Thanks for sharing . great review as always. very detailed.
Thanks, another Ul rod video, maybe Santa will give me for Christmas!
What oil do you use for the cork?
As a rodbuilder, I always recommend the U-4O cork seal. Great product and easy to apply to cork grips. Keeps them clean and safe!
I said in the video that i use oil based polyurethane. I have a How To video if u search for it. U-40 is safer butnoffers less protection and doesnt look as nice. But its safer.

I seal the corks on every single rod, from the cheapest to most expensive. I have a video called HOW TO SEAL, if u search my channel u will see it

THIS rod is perfect for thatt! Scimitsr is not a ultrslight rod.. i have no experience with it
When will you get the st croix ASPS70LXF
why would i be interested in such rod?? 1. it is too long. 2. it is not ultralight. 3. i dont touch anything XF.
Let’s hope Shimano is hearing your criticism and taking it into consideration to fix the flaws
👍
Thanks for the review that was great. Appreciate the time you put in doing this
thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!!
Best of the season to you and yours. Nice cheap rod.
u too, Bobby!
the color of the blank is dope , but i will never understand why ppl go with cork its a big turn off
Iltralight fishing is easy.. no need for heavy duty parts..
Anything but cork is a turnoff. Also hate any split grip.

Themnew sahara is rhe perfect
Match
What size? I was thinking Regal for $49 now…..same $$ as the rod! I thought you advised against the Sahara FJ for ultralight…..
which one is FJ? I don't know the letters but the new sahara is great.. perfect for this rod. I have never advised against it
what daiwa regal is that? it doesn't have the purple color.
this is Legalis with spool from Regal. I sold the Regal but kept the spool cos i like the color and it accepts bearings
@@ifishcatfish oh ok I was going to say it looks really nice I’m not a huge fan of the purple color the regal has

Yes, I am. Sorry if my accent bothers you..

i really miss the perch fishing in Chi-town..
Why do you think manufacturers are scared to put moderate power?
Because it sounds inferior to FAST
I have the 8 footer.....love it
If it had better guides it would be a true steal
