Hi Brian. A display port connector gives a better quality image on a monitor; what is the prevalence of display port connections on the latest monitors?
I believe ASUS have been stinking up the field quite a bit in recent months, but this *NUC 14 Pro* _looks like_ 👀 an exception: it's really nice (if a _wee_ bit pricey). 👍🏼 Thank you, Brian! 🙏🏼
Most big TH-camrs who complain about them have made money and grown there channels while promoting there products and most of them channels still review them like jayztwocents after making a video burning that company. Trashing company's gets massive views, so do they have your best interests at heart or is it about the views and money? I try not to get involved in that side of things. I myself have not had any problems dealing with ASUS.
@@Britec09 I get where you're coming from, Brian. ASUS is a brand that I've always thought of as 'top notch' in the area of PC components (they've been around *forever,* after all), but in recent years I've personally begun to feel like they're using that (well-earned) reputation to justify jacking up their prices unnecessarily (just to increase profits), so it's like your paying more for the 'brand' these days than you're paying for the actual _product._ (As a result, I've switched to ASRock for most of my motherboards, as an example.)
The other issues I have with ASUS have to do with their recent customer support practices (well documented in 2024), and the crappy build quality (again, well documented) of their *ROG G22CH* line of prebuilt PCs. (I'm also starting to look at other big brands like *Corsair* and *NZXT* the same way, for similar reasons: they're just not offering as much 'bang for the buck' as they used to.) I hope all that makes sense. 🤔
@MikeBob2023 You could say bad things about any company if you have had a bad experience with them. Comes down to personal experience, you could buy a MSI product and love it, the next person could buy the same product and have nothing but trouble, ask both the same question and they will both have different answers.
@@Britec09 Well, I've purchased ASUS products in the past but I'm not purchasing anything else they sell in the future, because other companies are making products that are *just as good* (or better), and *they're charging less for those products.* Same goes for Corsair and NZXT. A lot of these big companies have spent *decades* building up a good reputation (including all those I've named), only to turn around and 'cash in' by jacking up their prices while switching to cheaper materials and manufacturing processes, which puts the consumer in a really bad spot -- and I'm smarter than I look: they're not getting anymore of _my_ money. **shakes fist**
it is easy and convenient but i am not completely won over with tool less designs, i like a good screw, i find it more satisfying getting my kit out and doing something rather than twisting and pulling a few knobs.
Hmmm…..$1,250.00 Canadian, all in including $160.00 import tax. Pretty steep, even for the specs, which on paper look really, really good. But for that price, there’s a world of choices for a mini pc. 👍🇨🇦
wanna know the disadvantage? the fan in these burns out quite quickly due to dust build up unlike a normal PC not as easy to source also if you plan to use it as a server that will run 24/7 expect it to eventually die out with in 2-3 years. its a very common issue with these mini PCs thats why they are recommended in a office or work environment where you only use it for a few hours a day then power off
@@ShadowzGSD yes as i said they are much better in a office / work environment.. if you notice i said running "24/7 as a server". in the office they are using them for small every day task not workloads as servers do. its not like the office computers are rendering or running something hardcore 24/7 so if its idle on a web browser of course it will be fine lol. maybe read the comment before responding also learn up on how computers work before thinking a office computer is handling same workloads as a server
You can get usb to 3.5mm jack adapters.. Super cheap. I mean, you can get them in built in a "dock" that has SD card readers and more HDMI and ethernet ports and more USB.. and whatever else you can dream up.. For under 20 bucks... You can get direct usb to 3.5mm adapters for literally one dollar.
@Britec09 This is Windows 11 Pro correct? If it crashes or gets the BSOD how do you reinstall the operating system and does it come with the Product Key Label on the Outside of the unit? Thank you
it operates like a normal PC if you get a BSOD and need to reinstall most these small form factors have a partion build in with windows so you can reinstall but if not you can always get a 8GB or bigger usb download windows 11 from Microsoft website via another computer and reinstall by pressing one of the function keys to enter bios mode and select the usb on boot then you can reinstall windows
@MichaelandCathy1999 Don't be a troll, I was out for dinner. I do have a life. Also for your information, my last product review was Dec 9, 2024 so hardly QVC.
Mentioning that video wasn't sponsored....thank goodness. Unfortunately Brian's sponsor is "cd keys". Chis Titus has highlighted from an excellent video, slams "CD Keys sites" and 'others' as one of the many dodgy google ad flayers wrapped under the 'google ad sense' mechanism. Interesting.
Still have Asus -intel 775 dual core 3ghz win98, fedora -intel i7 rev 2 , 3ghz 4 core win7 ultra -intel i5 Gen 6 win7 pro Asus only board never failed 2 hp laptops 4&5 yrs old died-one day worked next day 👎🏼 Still running laptops-Toshibas intel i3 gen2 And i7gen 5. Re Outlook mail: Sent this also to your e ma il address, no reply. Can you answer please? Great channel, thanks very much! BUT, confused with this upload, see subject line! Because of this upload of yours I downloaded Thunderbird mail and donated approx £18 to them. I don't like it's settings and how it works generally. The thing is, it's now 1st Jan (Happy New Year) and my outlook windows mail on windows 10 is still working perfectly fine with no changes! Can you explain the point of your warning upload about outlook mail please? As I said, it's working just fine. I'm sending this email to you from that client.
£1200 and they put that crappy NVMe drive in. What extra would it have cost them to put something like even just an SN770 in, that you can guarantee has faster speeds and twice the endurance ... pennies.
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you
Cool, mini PC, Brian.

Looks like the last Intel design. Thanks!
Yeah, they don't change much

I agree, very expensive
Great machine,is it possible to cure thermal throttling without reducing speed.
Probably need throttlestop if it works, I will look at it.
Other than being smaller than a desktop what's the advantage?
Less power, more powerful are two things

Sound only possible through bluetooth? Read that there is no headphone jack on the Asus Nuc.
No 3.5mm jack

For the price, you could find a used gaming laptop with a rtx 3070.. or maybe better if you get lucky.
It just doesn't make any sense to buy new IMO.
companies will pay it
It is getting quite poor reviews on the Asus own website.
CPU throttles hard as you see in the video, I will look at throttlestop
I’d never touch an Asus product ever again absolute garbage everything they touch - riddled with problems and notoriously horrid customer service
Not had your problems with ASUS.
Most of my stuff is EVGA.. It's been great.

$1,099.00 😱 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Its pretty expensive, better options out there in my opinion for less money
AMD 8 core laptop Ideapad Flex5 has pen & is faster than my 6 core amd mini pc & nuc

That is your choice.
