    Im so glad that I was able to get a Quentel when they were made with 36 GSM. I like the thicker feeling better, especially when I flipping around the Bible.

    I’m saving for a Quentel, but still deciding between the NIV or ESV. Hope to be able to buy it for Christmas 🙏🏻

    I don’t read the Critical Text, but it makes me happy when I see a premium bible in those translations because I know people that read from them that would like to have a premium bible.

      I used to not understand the KJV only movement at first but after looking into it more it now makes sense to me. I have the Schuyler NiV, NASB, CSB, NKJV. I also had an ESV and an NLT but my Schuyler KJV and Humble Lamb KJV are my favorites. When you compare the different versions you know it is THE word of God. No other english translation will come close to it. All this to say I understand why you don't read the critical text haha
      As a french canadian I think it's safe to say anyone can understand the King James version with some practice.

    • @twiceborn_by_grace
      @twiceborn_by_grace ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blame1991 my main translation is the NKJV. I like the KJV, but the words trip me up sometimes…like the ones that we use today still, but have different meanings.

    • @blame1991
      @blame1991 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@twiceborn_by_grace I see! I’m a fan of the Textus Receptus. I used to read the NKJV but found out it barely uses the Textus Receptus unfortunatly. Who would’ve thought right? The NKJV has nothing to do with the KJV so I had to go back to what I prefer. But to each their own they say! Have a good one brother be blessed

    • @kylec8950
      @kylec8950 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blame1991 I'm sorry but that simply is NOT true. The NKJV is perhaps more faithful to the TR than the KJV, as it corrects places the KJV departs from the TR such as Acts 19:37, Acts 12:4, Lk 18:12,

      Agreed, the Thomas Nelson MacLaren with the words of Jesus in blue letter is amazing. Schuyler should consider doing so. Otherwise, nobody does premium bible offerings better than Schuyler.

    I just received mine yesterday (black calfskin) and it’s absolutely beautiful. The printing is outstanding and easy for older eyes to read. My only disappointment is the paper gsm, it’s thin… really thin! Now it doesn’t seem to effect the ghosting from a thicker gsm, but it’s the feel of the paper. The second complaint is the footnotes and concordance, the font is so small. Like the gsm, this just seems to be a way to save money. But if you’re paying for a premium bible, you want premium quality in the paper and font size in secondary print (ie footnotes and concordance). A slightly thicker bible is acceptable to accommodate a thicker gsm and a few more pages to a concordance. If you want thinner, put out a thin-line version that omits references, maps and a concordance. After all is said, I’m looking forward to my next Schuyler bible. I told my wife this bible is so beautiful that I feel I should have it on display instead of reading it. Ha…
    On a side note this is a great channel for bible reviews and in-depth looks into bible versions. I come here whenever I am looking for an honest bible review or explanation on biblical topics. Thanks for what you do.

      My ESV from 2019 has 28 gam paper, but the newer 28 gsm paper is thinner.

    • @filobiblic
      @filobiblic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thin paper does not equal less quality! I can understand that the tactile feeling of objects is subjective. I have the 28gsm paper in the PSQ so I'm keen to see if it's the same.
      FYI about that paper... (As per other Bible reviewers with more knowledge than me.)
      Schuyler use the most expensive paper- French-milled Indopaque with a premium coating and titanium pigment. It's a Royal Jongbloed exclusive. Cambridge RL Allan, and Crossway also use this paper for their premium Bibles made in the Netherlands.

      It's nothing to do with cost saving. It's do to with the thickness of the Bible.

      I also prefer 36 gsm paper. People were so excited when the 28 gsm Quentels came out because it was new and unfamiliar. Now, strangely, the Zondervan 36 gsm NIVs feel higher quality than the Schuyler. My search for an NIV is now between the Allan NIV1 and the Zondervan NIV Thinline. I wish I didn’t have to buy a Chinese-produced Bible to be satisfied. I hope Schuyler brings back the better paper. I have an original NKJV Quentel, 36 gsm, and it’s far and beyond better than their new stuff.

    Good bibles, but a disreputable company based on my experience. Purchased a $240 Bible but it never arrived. They blamed FedEx and have yet to refund my money. Sad that a company who sells God’s word does business this way.
