10 Le Mans Legends from past GT games that are not in Gran Turismo 7

- Gran Turismo 7 has brought back several iconic race cars from GT 1-6 after their absence in GT Sport, like the legendary Mercedes CLK-LM from the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1998. However, there are many other Le Mans Legends from GT 1-6 that have not returned to GT7 thus far. Here you can see 10 of those cars in action on 26 different tracks and also their showcases at the car dealers in all of the different games. Almost all of these cars were able to get a podium finish at Le Mans at some point and 6 of them were overall winners.

Each car is shown at the dealer or garage in every main GT game that featured it and also on track in every unique-looking game, so for the track footage I am treating GT5 and GT6 as one game, since they both look the same when driving. As usual GT 2-4 are played on emulator and GT 5-6 on original hardware.
The Toyota GT-One competed at Le Mans in 1998 and 1999 and it was one of the fastest cars in both years but due to various incidents only 1 of 6 entries got a good result, finishing 2nd in 1999. The '99 car is featured in GT 2-6 and GT2 also features the '98 car. GT2 and GT3 also feature the road version of the car.
The Nissan R390 GT1 competed in 1997 and 1998. After poor results in 1997 the car showed great reliability in 1998, finishing in the top 10 with all 4 cars and getting a podium finish. The '98 car is featured in GT 2-6 and GT2 also features the '97 car. For each year there is also a road version that is featured in the same games.
The Panoz Esperante GTR-1 was not as successful at Le Mans as the other cars in this video but it did get a top 10 finish in the highly stacked 1998 race. The car is featured in GT 3-6.
The BMW V12 LMR was able to get first place at Le Mans 1999 and it is featured in GT 4-6.
The Audi R8 LMP car is one of the most successful Le Mans cars of all time, getting 5 overall wins between 2000 and 2005. The '01 car in red and yellow is featured in GT 4-6. In GT 5-6 there is also the '05 car with the PlayStation Oreca livery.
The Bentley Speed 8 competed from 2001 to 2003 and it got the overall win in 2003, being the only car to defeat the Audi R8. It is featured in GT 4-6 as the only Bentley that ever appeared in Gran Turismo so far.
The Peugeot 905 competed from 1991 to 1993 and it got the overall win in both 1992 and 1993, claiming 5 of the 6 podium spots in those year. The car is featured in GT 4-6.
The Audi R10 TDI replaced the Audi R8 and it won at Le Mans 3 times in a row, from 2006 to 2008, being the first Diesel-powered car to win the race. It is featured in GT5 and GT6.
Pescarolo is a private team by 4-time Le Mans winner Henri Pescarolo that competed at Le Mans for many years. With a car based on the Courage C60 the team was able to get a podium finish in both 2005 and 2006, being a serious competitor for Audi. The '03 and '04 cars are featured in GT 4-6 and the '05 car is featured in GT5 and GT6.
The Ford GT40 Mk I race car won at Le Mans in both 1968 and 1969. GT7 features a GT40 road car and the Mk IV race car from 1967 but the iconic Mk I race car is only featured in GT 2-6.

This video took me several weeks of work, involving research, planning, hours of grinding for money in GT6, hours of cycling the used car dealer in GT5 and hours of recording and editing. Now the video is finally complete though and I am very happy with how it turned out. I even used a different track for every single clip of driving to make the video as interesting as possible. Hopefully other people will enjoy the video as much as I do. :)
If this video ends up being very popular, then I might make several more videos about things from GT 1-6 that have not returned to GT7 so far, featuring other categories of cars and also different types of tracks. I already have several other videos in mind in this regard. - เกม

Maki Nishikino's Toyota GT-ONE 1999 still OVERPOWERED even in GT6. In GT3, it has 1189bhp.

@@Raybrig8488 is it not because if you're modelling them realistically they don't really fit with their categories? despite their striking/muscular looks theyre not powerful enough to be in gr.2, and would look a bit odd beside all the gt3 cars in gr.3. given that theyre iconic cars from previous games they maybe dont want to make them look like just ordinary race cars

Considering they have the successors to the GT-One, I'm a bit shocked they don't have the original here in the game. It was the car you had to get the S-10 license with in GT2 if I remember correctly, on Cote de Azur.
No, it was on Apricot Hill Speedway. Cote de Azur didn't appear until GT3.

@@RacingGamerJosh Officially it debuted on GT3, but Cote de Azur was planned to appear in GT2. You can find it in one of the demos for the game, but it's unfinished. The road was basically done (however, you had to break through an invisible wall on the start/finish stretch first), but the rest of the scenery was missing. It did have an almost fully modeled inside of the tunnel tho, and a unique skybox that was not used anywhere else, too.

Great list, the CLK-LM and F1 GTR need new competitors as the GT500 cars are simply not on the level of the GT1 cars in GT7 despite being Gr.2.
PD have a good relationship with both Toyota and especially Nissan so I would be very shocked if neither of those came to GT7, the R390 I feel would be the most likely of the 2 as PD obviously have access to the cars at the Nissan Zama Warehouse/Museum as both the Skyline GT500 R34 and the Skyline Silhouette are housed there along with the R390. The Panoz would also be a pretty cool addition but I doubt PD would include that before the Toyota or Nissan. The Panoz also sounds super sick irl and on the PGR series so would love to see and drive that in GT7.
The GT40 racecar can also be replicated very closely in GT7 with almost exact specs with a custom livery and the Widebody upgrade.
What? The GT500 cars are faster than the CLK and F1 GTR on most tracks, which they should be because they are faster irl.
@@Stance1988 i honestly think this is the reason the gt-one and r390 arent there, the mythology of classic race cars (and in the case of the gt-one an iconic apex predator car in gran turismo history) coming up against gran turismo's evolution from a arcade console racer into an actual legitimate sim. the "im 12 years old and listen to led zeppelin because music from my generation sucks" crowd dont want to be confronted with the fact that present day race cars are generally much, much faster than older ones. the mclaren and clk just squeak into gr 2 barely, but theres a reason you dont see a lot of people racing them (and in the case of the f1 gtr hardly see anyone racing it at all)
Panoz is one of those brands that unfortunately doesn't get licensed that much although it's understandable given that it barely exists nowadays.
I'd love to see them in quite a few games because they've got both interesting race cars and road car. Although they're not particularly beautiful they're very distinctive appearances have grown on me a ton on recent years.
The Bentley is another one of my favourites, easily one of the best looking LM Cars ever produced alongside the Lola-Aston Martin B09/60.
The Panoz was actually in multiple recent games. Project Cars 3 and Grid Legends both have it. PC3 actually had a ton of awesome Le Mans cars (including the first 6 from this video). Sadly it didn't have Le Mans as a track though.
@@Paragleiber Yea PC3 actually has a phenomenal car list, I'm surprised at all the Race Cars and even concepts they managed to get crammed in there. Pity the game didn't get received well because with some more tracks and additional tweaks it would've been a very strong contender to Forza Motorsport 7 for me on the Xbox.
I haven't unlocked it yet in Grid Legends but that's also got quite a good car list, from the M3 GTR to the new Alfa Romeo GTAm and some of the fictional cars too.
Polyphony Digital made errors with the Panoz specs probably on purpose to handicap it. In all the GT games it was in they made the car overweight. The Panoz Esperante GTR-1 was 900 kg in real life but PD made it 1150 kg like idiots. Also they shortened the cars wheelbase and track F/R in the game handicapping it's stability. The Panoz was actually just as fast as the Nissan R390 GT1 in real life but in GT the Panoz is way worse because they purposely made the car worse. Another scummy thing racist PD did is handicap the highly successful Lister Storm Race Car. In reality the Lister Storm GTL was light weight at 1000kg but again like with any successful non Japanese race car PD purposely handicapped the Lister by making it 1438kg!!! They apparently have zero knowledge on race cars and class weight requirements. What drugs do they have to be on to think a race car would weigh as much as a luxury sedan? Any respectable car lover should hate PD and boycott their pos national bias games.

The GT-One and R390 will surely make a return with the 88C-V.

However I feel like with how the DLC lifespan is going with this game, we'd be lucky to at least get one of them.
I'm also curious as to where the GT-One will be grouped... the R390 and Panoz will easily be Gr.2 cars like the CLK-LM and F1 GTR Longtail since they're from the same era of GT1 and everything else (except the GT40 Mk1 race car) will be Gr.1, but the GT-One is a confusing case because it started as a late 90s GT1 car before being grandfathered into LMGTP/LMP900, the same class as the V12 LMR, R8 LMP and Speed 8.
It would be GR.2 because the cars that occupy the GR.1 are lmp1 and groups C and given that these cars far surpass the GT One unless they give it a buff in its configurations so that it is at the height of its opponents
@@user-wu6ov7jh9w The Group C cars in reality don't far surpass the 1999 version of the GT-One at all. A sauber C11 did a 3:31 at le Mans while the 1999 GT-One did a 3:29 ...
The only Group C cars that surpass the GT-One (and a lot of cars until 2007+ LMP1 cars) is the 3.0L V10 Group C cars like the 905, XJR-14 and the Toyota TS010 which if any are introduce to the game, they will be Gr.1 ... To make that class of cars even more confusing.
If GT7 introduces the 1998 GT-One, it will be a Gr.2 car since that car was basically a rival to the CLK-LM, the Porsche 911 GT1, the Nissan R390, the McLaren F1 GTR, however, if it's the LMGTP 1999 version, it's Gr.1.

11:21 I feel like the Audi R10 TDI is one of the most important cars to ever race at Le Mans, especially because of its game-changing diesel engine instead of the usual gas guzzling engines. That and its domination in the American Le Mans Series. I don't have it as my profile picture for nothin'!
The pescarolo is really sad, I grinded for 4 million credits to get that thing on gt6 because I had a bug and couldn't update the game to the newer version so in the earlier version a lot of the cars cost a lot like the pescarolo was 4 mil instead of 1 mil. Its just sad I couldn't use such a classic in the new one.
The GT6 Updated versions only costed $1.8M on average.
what patch were you on? also you can go super fast in the first version of gt6 so you might've needed to grind more due to payouts not being increased yet and cars not having reduced price but hey, it would pay off (if you like fast cars)

Racing in either of or against the GT-One, R390, 787B, Esperante, XJ220, Storm V12, Corvette C5R and Zonda C12 with all LM liveries on Test Course in GT3 was special.

Now the gt one is back in gt7. But the problem is, the livery of esso need to change to exxon for the ntsc us, while the esso for ntsc-j and pal
People can create custom liveries in GT7, so someone will probably create the Exxon version if you prefer that for some reason.
We have the Toyota GT-One now in GT7. All that left is Nissan R390 GT1 to comeback as necessary in future updates.
My hoping for future GT7 updates I would like to see this happens is Toyota TS020, Nissan GT1 R390, BMW V12 LMR, Audi R8 LMR and Bentley Speed 8 🤞

Gran Turismo 2 GT one has the coolest car sound.
Took them 2 years just for the return of the iconic racing car brand, the identity missing from GT7.
I'm impressed by how superior the GT4 is compared to the GT5.
Gameplay, sound, physics. The real leap in quality only came in the GT7.

My number 1 pick is the Bentley. I miss Bentley in Gran Turismo, especially as a brand. It's the LMP I miss the most.
Wish Yuu Takasaki's Audi R10, Maki Nishikino's GTONE, and Rin Hoshizora's R390GT1 LM 1998 returned on GT7 as some kind of update patches.
R390 GT1 LM, this car is insanely fast&powerfull in GT3, but this car got nerfed by PD for GT4 onwards
Realistically it's still lighter than it's real life specs.
I honestly have to research why Gran Turismo has always had engine sounds that sound like glorified vacuum cleaners and not actual engines.
for real. im playing gt6 and all the cars sound horrible. especially with the racing exhaust, you would think after the 6th damn game they would have figured out engine sound.. Kaz should have been replaced over 10 years ago imo. keeps turning out worse and worse games
I’d love to see them all back but they (prototypes) would be useless as shit in GT7 since all those cars are about 5-10 seconds slower per lap than even the toyota GR010 (which is about 7-8 seconds slower than the 2016 LMP1) which is useless at tracks where you have to turn more than you have to go full throttle

Definitely miss the Audi R8 lmp900 an absolute beast with the best durability and reliability with its fuel consumption and tyre wear in GT4 - GT6 and as it was in real life. And was pretty damn quick too not as fast compared to LMP cars like the minolta,sauber,C60 hybrid or R92CP on the straights, but could definitely keep a pace against in other sections of the race
