      Excellent to hear that. They are not fantastic but they do work OK

      Agreed :) I would have been very happy to have these as my first goggles for instance :)

    Andrew:
    This was your usual concise, clear, fair review. Outstanding!
    I'm wondering if you have dealt with their inability to provide audio despite ads claiming to do this. Your variometer videos suggest this might be important to you. Thanks.
    Jim

      Thanks James. The vario audio is produced by the Taranis. I have never used the audio capabilities of goggles or FPV cameras.

    I have a problem with ev100. Sometimes the screen suddenly overexposed or darkened during flight.
    Is there a way to solve?

      If it transmits 5.8GHz video then yes these goggles will work. Maybe check on RCGroups first.

    Yes Andrew, these Goggle manufacturers ALL skimp on the IPD adjustment range!!!!!, 68mm is not quite enough for the European Market...75mm would be ok...At least Eachine attempted to increase IPD and also introduced individual eyepiece focus adjusting. Given the very small size of the 4:3 screens, Im guessing the 16:9 Eagle is going to get compressed and or cropped badly, but a 4:3 set FPV camera won't be too bad. I recently invested in a very nice 5 Inch Little Pilot Monitor for relay use, and pretty pleased with it....it clips on my Taranis very nice, light too....th-cam.com/video/wAxZo7njq7M/w-d-xo.html

      Nice little screen, is that all you fly with?

    • @EnglishTurbines
      @EnglishTurbines 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andrew Newton Hi Andrew, no...I use this 5 inch screen with my 1280mhz / 5.8G Relay GS....The monitor only has one 5.8G reciever, but since I only need about 100mtrs range max to my GS, its not a problem at all. I got this Hawkeye screen because it has a proper matte screen and high brightness LED backlight. Yes, I can use it in direct Sunlight just fine. I usually stand with my back to the Sun if its out. It doesnt need a shade...:)
      It also has a built in Lipo you can charge via USB Port, about 2.5hrs runtime depending on screenbrightness.

    I have been looking to get into FPV for a long time - I did not want to use the "box goggles" and have watched so many "reviews" I am about to pull my hair out!! ( I can't afford to do that at my age either) you have the BEST review as far as addressing the screen size and that seems to be the biggest complaint so Thank You very much for your review & post!!!! I have ordered my EV100 & I agree Fatsharks are just WAY over priced for someone like me who just wants to cruse around my back yard!!!!

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect for that, I'm sure you will love it.

    It looks like the receiver sensitivity is very good but they're going to have to increase the FOV on those Goggles. If they can make that change I'd be up for a pair on their version II's. Thanks for the review and Happy Flying!

      Range about 600m max. It's almost there but not quite. Next version might be on the money

    Good assessment, your simulated view over the Aomway was great, very good comparison but for FPV Fixed Wing would you prefer the EV100 or the Headplay goggles you have for pure enjoyment?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Headplay is way better (and much more expensive) than these for range and size of view and included DVR, but they're so big and cumbersome.

    • @kenoath007
      @kenoath007 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate that Andrew, I have several cheapie box goggle sets already... I got burned buying pre-order on the VR-D2, firmware bricking my DVR and no support from Banggood (they arrived while I was on vacation)... so I'm keen to get something better quality that I will be happy with. The Headplay SE are $216AUD currently not so much difference and the arguably better SJ-V01 can be had for a similar price. I'm glad I didn't pre-order these as well because of the problems with it... I see there is an updated version of the EV100's where they have fixed some issues with OSD etc... problem is how to tell if you're ordering the updated version?
      Grayson Hobby did a vid on their new stock of the updated version.

    Nice video.....!I want to buy Goggles, but I have never used Goggles before and also i have no experience in FPV.......,So therefore I want to ask that which are the best Goggles in your opinion according to Good Range,Best Video Quality and with no other problems...?-------(1:Eachine VR006)-------(2: Eachine VR-007 Pro)-------(3:Eachine EV800)-------(4:Eachine Ev100){And I want to use it for Eachine Wizard X220}!Thanks!

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My favourite of your list is the EV800 because the screen detaches. I have needed to add extra close up glasses to use all the box style goggles. The EV100 are OK but the range is not as good and the view is small and dark. You will also need to replace the rubber ducky antennas with clover leaf antennas if you want the best signal and range.

      I thought I would just point out that I have no axe to grind here. I can't actually use this type of goggle as, following eye operations, I don't have the natural "accommodation" focus length that they rely upon. I haven't yet found a box goggle I can use either. :( What I do appreciate is balance in reviews.

    • @AndrewNewton

      Will all these goggles you really do have to try before you buy. Not easy unfortunately. Many thanks for your feedback

    Will you be getting a SJ RG01 to review ?? They look interesting. Kinda like VR goggles - so I'm hopeful they would work for my eyes. They have a 42 deg field of view apparently.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, it is likely I'll have a look at them in the future.

      Couple of reviews th-cam.com/video/m1SFdKm_evo/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/Opknl6il_fA/w-d-xo.html Both equally bad. I've just bought a pair of Gwy Cobra V - now waiting for them to arrive. 7demo7 gave a good review.

      Drew R what are those transformers like. I've been thinking about those for a while. I've got the dominator V1 and wanted something a bit clearer and bigger FOV.

      @CP_FPV 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Drew R thanks for the info.
      Is the 55 degree FOV too big ?
      My dominators are 30 degree and feel like being seated towards the back of a cinema. Is the 55 degree to in ur face like sitting in the front row of a cinema ?

    great review as always Andrew, thanks :)
    I'm long-sighted too & would have to use reading glasses for box goggles. do these Eachines work okay without correction for you? what prescription glasses do you need, if you don't mind me asking?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andy, I just use +1.0 for reading glasses but can focus no problems with the EV100 goggles as they are.
