    It's definitely a FatShark Teleporter Killer goggle.....lets compare apple to apples...Price for Price, I love your reviews but fair is fair and comparing a civic to Ferrari is a little unfair.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I don't think anybody should fly with Teleporters either, for the exact same reason: low FOV. But you're right that the Teleporter is even worse, with a 320x240 screen. I'm not panning these goggles because they have a smaller screen than an HD3. I'm panning them because they have such a small screen that I don't think people will have a good experience flying with them. And to demonstrate just how small the screen is, I show other (more expensive) goggles. But the comparison is just to show how really small the screen is.

      Joshua Bardwell I understand, I started with box goggles and did alright, when I went to Teleporters for past 5 months and have improved my flying significantly, recently I've been flying with these and Attitude V2, field of view doesn't bother me as much as resolution, I do prefer flying with V2 but these have same range (give or take), but range res and FOV on the EV's is leaps and bounds better than Teleporters and cheaper. I do love your channel and value your opinion, I'm just giving my opinion.

      good to hear.. i just bought these to upgrade from teleporters.. couldn't beat it for $100. I do ok with the teleporters so i should notice a bit of an improvement.. Next upgrade I will likely invest a bit more money.

    Hey joshua,
    Since its been 2 years and there are no comparable options for cheaper dual screen goggles.
    Could you test this one again? It has been upgraded with new firmware as far as i know to fix some blackouts. There are also some videos available to attach a 25 dollar diversity module and a little dvr to it and even a 3d printable case to increase its Fov and add diopters!
    This stuff might just completely change your view on this product as for 2020, for a beginners goggle.. (satisfaction of upgrading this baby to a fatshark killer! ;))

    Hey JB, I still use cyclops big box goggles.. They work well but I really want to get something that's a little better, a little smaller, maybe dvr.. Don't get me wrong I have no problem and great reception with my cyclops they do what they do ya know.. But I want the big box off my face and will use them to let people watch.. I can't afford fatshark I have a young baby lol.. What would you recommend,? I don't wear glasses but I will once I get to the eye Dr eventually.. I'm 42 and vision is going (has been for years).. So what in the "not fatshark" market would you say I should look into to come up from the cyclops?

    • @JoshuaBardwell

      Pretty much all the decent goggles on the market go for about $300 to $350 or more. There isn't anything cheaper than a FatShark that I personally would use. I'd say just keep using your box goggles while you save up.

    Sorry Joshua is not able to enjoy the EV100. This is not my experience after a month of use. He definitely has a defective unit - range & reception is as good as the EV800 or better IMO even with stock antennas. We feel your disappointment, but that is not what most users willl experience with the EV-100. The disappointment in your situation seems to promote the thumbnail of the video - whether for click bait or not - that we ALL FLYERS should NOT consider trying a pair.
    There are lots of people like me that would have missed out on a great experience if we blindly followed your recommendation.
    Diversity or not, it works decent IMO. What makes it worth it for me is I use glasses and able to see clearly w/o corrective lens and thats a godsend.
    I agree there is less situational awareness in the periphery but thats not where I am aimed so the small FOV is not a problem in flying and avoiding obstacles. Sure it is narrow as a flight cam DVR but the tunnel flight experience is like flying an X-WING in a canyon.
    What makes these unique IS the cost point. Add more LCD pixels, and cost goes way up. They are able to get bi-panels for the price of a mono. That's the basic compromise and you might want to point out why that is a problem in Drone flying versus other important considerations like cot and other feature values.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I firmly believe you can do better for the price at the time the goggle was released, which was $150. Can you get a good box goggle with brilliant screen and proper diversity for $150? Yes.
      For $100 the goggles are a little more competitive. But they weren't $100 when I reviewed them.

    • @Dreamcutter
      @Dreamcutter 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps if looking at it purely in terms as price/performance but the EV100 is Different animal from a box goggle IMO. So it needs to be compared with the additional desirable capability not possible with a box goggle. Most who look at these will be considering a light alternative from thier clunky box goggle ...and not looking like a horse grazing on a feedbag at the field. I agree these will be beat, but Eachine is the first to market with a adjustable bi-focal, low profile goggles for $100. That's probably the keystone price point so when a better version arrives they will be competing against a $60 pair of EV100's is my prediction.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you're wrong about that. The EV200 is the successor to the EV100 and it is coming in around $300-$350 just like every other half-decent set of goggles.
      It's my firm opinion that the tiny, tiny FOV on the EV100 makes it a non-starter at a price of $150. Eachine can do better, and they will.

    • @Dreamcutter
      @Dreamcutter 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that's insight!
      So I checked it out (th-cam.com/video/cg3vvHNvxe8/w-d-xo.html) - darn they changed too much and pulled the lens-focus and swapped it out with fat-shark diopter lenses. Not a bad solution, wish my box goggles supported them. However the adjustable focus worked well for y mild far-sightedness.
      So no compromise on image quality & fov on the EV200 but now t must compete more evenly with the market dominators ;D
      Other than box is there a better bi-LCD screen can you get for less than $200 anyways?
      Frankenhacks on the EV100's with addon's like external receiver and the like dont make it viable because less than 35 FOV is just un-acceptable is there an sub $200 alternative that IS better ? - might good video topic.

    So many YT reviews start with " Fatshark killer?" And we all know, including Eachine the EV100 was not designed to be a Fatshark killer, or any killer. It's Eachine's first foray into dual screen goggles and was deliberately designed to be cheapest they could make without making it a total failure. For the price it is worth buying plus the focus adjustable lenses and good receiver that some other YTbers were able to compare correctly is a bonus. I have never looked through a Fatshark, I do have box goggles and I do realize I cannot afford Fatsharks, or for that matter the Commander. If you remember the very first box goggles by Eachine, they weren't all that good but, that's changed. I have no doubt the next iteration or third will hurt or disrupt Fatshark's sales until they stop milking the fattened calf. You look at the history of Eachine products, they are taking notice, they are making improvements with each iteration and they will become a noteworthy addition to the FPV community

    • @JoshuaBardwell

    • @aleks3a00
      @aleks3a00 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do not forget - when the quality of EACHINE approaches to Fatshark -
      they will want the same money. So it was- always.
      For the screen area these glasses are 3 times- smaller. Therefore they cost 3 times cheaper.
      If you multiply this by 3 - get the price of Fatshark. People get right price - 100$ .( without DVR and Diversity.)

    • @Kabab
      @Kabab 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      PulseFour FPV yes display size and the lenses work together to make the final image. they can both vary but it would make sense to me that the FOV is supposed to be a constant so there is some comparable metric. the difference between this 28deg view and fatshark 32deg view is absolutely enormous. 4deg shouldn't be that significant of a difference. than again it could mean the difference between not being able to see anything and having enough view to at least fly.

      yeah i'm gonna do some more mods... made the cheek pads wider with some foam but the foam wouldnt stick easily, it did spread the load enough to stop it tugging my eye wide open... my forehead part seems to be flpping inwards onto my eyes... i added a triangle of dense foam to make the centre strap go upwards before it would normally, its possible with some sewing skills to add some strap directly on top of the springy strap to stop it bouncing around... i did try removing the battery but it didnt help as much as i thought it would. i did a direct comparison between my old quanums with the screen velcro'd on the outside, and somehow the eachine fresnel lens manages to slightly outperform my double acrylic lenses in the quanum, goodness knows how thats even possible. and absolute plus for the eachine is that thanks to tigger rc's review i tried putting my reading glasses minus arms inside the v800d and it fits in there like it was designed to do it. but that face plate is gonna need some work.

    Well I love your channel and the good advice you give. But I still ordered these goggles. Why? Well I do not see myself standing around wearing a small TV on my face. And face it with a budget under 150 $ that is what I'm in for if I want something I can use for fpv. But after hearing your comments I got very nervous about the goggles I thought were perfect for my needs and budget. Still I looked at a lot of reviews and many people seem to be satisfied with these goggles. I know they aren't fatsharks and yes I would rather have those but I cannot spend 300$ for a low end fatshark. These goggles should be reviewed as someone who gets his first pair of goggles, will it give that audience a good time.? If you come from a 50° fov to 28° or less. Well I will not be buying a 17 inch pc monitor any time soon. But my first 17 inch monitor blew me away. Weird. to bad you wound up with what seems like a dud :( I have 5 EV100's here, and I can fly with them as well as my other goggles, or with an Aomway receiver..
    I run the EV100 with 1 cloverleaf and 1 of the stock antenna, which work out ok so far.. The entenna aren't just plain both connected to the receiver by the way (try that with a multimeter)
    Image small? Yep.. the image IS small.. (my daily goggle has a 30 degree FOV)

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know the two antennas are not simply wired in parallel.
      30-33 degrees such as in the Attitude v4 is acceptable. The image in the EV100 is much smaller than this. It lists at 28 degrees but RCSchim has measured it at closer to 24 degrees. I'm sure you CAN fly with it. Obviously you can. But the question I am trying to address is, is this a good place to spend your money? And there are too many superior products for $150 or less for me to recommend this goggle. If you are simply DYING to put a goggle on your face, this is the cheapest way to do it... that's true.

    Also, coming from a casual fpv pilot on a budget, I do think you have become a bit spoiled with the large FOV you've become used to with your top of the line Fatsharks. I tried Teleporters, and I also couldn't stand the tiny screen. I also hated lugging around my giant Quanum box goggles, although I love the image and immersion. That's why I mostly fly with a $100 true diversity monitor with DVR from Eachine. It has incredible reception, it's super slim and easy to transport, and if i want the immersion, I can plug in my Quanums and get true diversity without needing an rx on the goggles, and I get DVR and a screen for friends and bystanders to watch. I feel like if you're the kind of person who hates the huge size and discomfort of box goggles, if you wear glasses, if you want to share your experience with friends and family, and if you aren't willing to shell out $500 for Fatsharks, you should consider a monitor. The features and image quality for the price can't be beat, and if you ever decide to step up to true goggles, you'll always have a bench screen and backup monitor for onlookers. And for $100, you'll never regret it!

You can actively seeing it switch back and forth when it needs and it seems to do it logically. I'd love to see someone do a good controlled test between true diversity and antenna diversity out of something like the VR D2. I've seen some side by side 'testing' and the results are nearly equal.

  • @SimRacer101
    @SimRacer101 7 ปีที่แล้ว +42

    1. Looking at your 3 images though the clarity on the EV100 is by far crispest. 2. Because of the price these really have to be compared with box goggles. Can you fly with box goggles at all either? I would expect the same issue. Unless its the huge boxes where you can wear glasses. 3. Holy Cow, yea, you he a defective set. Mine are way better than that at range. I would hate them too if they worked that badly. 4. I have the VR-D2, VR-D2 Pro and EV800D. The EV800D are the way to go. And in my review I recommend those over the EV100s. But some people just won’t fly with box goggles... 5. Albert Kim has a detail video on how to set these up so you can use diopters. But that won’t fix the terrible reception in yours.

      +DroneRacer101 I agree the image quality is good. Bear in mind I didn't adjust brightness contrast on the fatsharks when I took the picture. I was just trying to compare size. Ultimately the FOV kills them for me.

      Of course the image will look sharp when it is so small. The pixel density increases as the screen size goes down and you can no longer distinguish individual pixels.

    The main point you forgot to mention is the modifying potential the the goggles have. For starters, if you had taken the time to remove the foam and the face mask and tried the goggles on like that, you would see that with a tiny modification you could increase the FOV to a much more reasonable one (about 32-35 degrees). Also, you can add a DVR with 3 solder points inside the goggles, and add an external receiver module by adding a 5V regulator, coming in at a total of 5 solder points. I think this is important to mention because the better part of that he fpv community is able and willing to modify products to save money, and with $100 spent on the goggles, and $150 spent on modifications, you can get goggles that rival with Fatsharks.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Please forgive me for not putting every single mod that I did on video. I did try the goggles with the foam removed and the goggles right up against my face. I don't think that the FOV is 32-35 degrees under those conditions. The screen is still much smaller than the Attitude v4.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I didn't mention a lot of things that didn't change my opinion of the goggles. Putting thinner foam on them does not make the image bigger-enough to be usable. So mentioning that you can do that is pointless, because it doesn't change the conclusion.
      "Your FPV buddies." You have no idea how many pilots I gave them to or how I selected them based on their background to give me a wide variety of opinions. But you just assume I didn't do due diligence because you disagree with my conclusion and now you are looking for excuses to discredit me. Don't bother. You don't need any justification to disagree with my conclusion. If you want to spend $150 on these goggles, you don't need my seal of approval to do it. If you have these goggles and you love them, more power to you.

    How can you tell about image quality if you are not able to see it? You have -6? Why you buy a product that clearly says until -4 is fine? Screen and FOV too small? Get rid of the huge foam and buy a smaller fatshark replacement foam and it's good to go. Your goggles must have a defect regarding the reception. Don''t compare products that are by far not in the same price range. I like your reviews but this one I find kinda fail. The EV100 is a great option for beginners or people that can't or won't spend 400-500$ on a fatshark/aomway + lenses. I hate box goggles and wouldn't get a clear image on a 800D with my +2 hyperopia but I do get a crisp and clear image on the EV100. I payed 80$ for the EV100 and this was a great deal. Happy to own it!

      Hi, I was surprised your review is not as fair as usual Joshua. Then I received my EV100 yesterday : the main point is I see DOUBLE image, They are no use to me :-/ I am just a regular european guy, no big head, no crazy eye : good vision, I start to need reading glasses at 44, ~70 IPD. No matter what tunning I made, I see double image in the goggles :-/ I have to close one eye to be ok ! Otherwise, I can live with small display, this is the compromise proposed to us on this product : 20% less image for 80% less money :-) not a deal breaker if you accept it, and are lucky enough to have < 68 IPD.

    • @marlin-fpv

  • @KrotowX
    @KrotowX 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got out already from preordering and don't remorse that. Joshua already mentioned the main problems - screens are a way too small, is not possible to add extra lens for people with sight issues, no diversity receiving for 2 antenna configuration. In addition receiver is prone to fail randomly and blue LED from battery create light pollution at right eye through plastic casing (white EV100 owners, beware). The idea about cheap binocular googles is great but unfortunately USABLE binocular FPV googles can't be too cheap. If Eachine want to get idea about cheap binocular FPV googles, they should look how F640 googles are built. Except of non-configurable IPD and no adjustable focus, other things if F640 are more or less good. However I believe that EV100 was a test drive for a new line of non-expensive FPV googles and more will follow. I hope that next googles will have 32 degrees FOV, possibility to insert diopter lens, black mate covering around screen holes (black color is not expensive), foam pad not twice too thick as is needed, a real diversity receiver or module bay for upgradeable diversity receiver module. Eachine do manufacturing of these modules by themselves, so it shouldn't be a problem. Built-in DVR would be good too. Also internal OSD in googles must be off by default and show up only when
    - Changing/selecting features in menu.
    - Channel/Range switching.
    - Low Voltage warning.
    - Low VTX signal receiving warning (warning level must be configurable in google settings in percents).
    Otherwise screen must remain clear. But google OSD may came up to a few seconds when pressing on channel change button etc.
    I believe that upgraded version which by the way shouldn't fail randomly, would fit in 230-250$ price range (around 200 euros). If Eachine can accomplish that, I will take mine googles right now. I have their box googles - EV800 and EV800D and from value google perspective they are awesome. Especially EV800D - I still use them. C'mon, Eachine, I know that you can do that.

    The goggles are good for beginning in FPV. The Fatshark is a more Pro option for the future if u begin to like FPV. obviously the EV100 "fatshark Killer" are a bad goggles in comparison with another 300-500 dollar models but you can with less spent learn to fly a drone with this. You can do mods to the goggles for a decent performance. Not the better but good.

    Why havent I watched this Video before I buyed the ev100. I use them for a few months now and I can only support your ratings. Yesterday I actually took a drill and cut off the internal receiver to use an external skyzone receiver and now it works much better, I have much more range than before. I could also use the AV in but on the one hand it uses a very rare plug and on the other hand I even soldered it directly to the AV in on the board and it still didn't work. Unfortunately I didn't know about the low range and also not about the low FOV when I buyed it. But for those who have the ev100 I can say you get used to the low FOV.

    I think the reviewers not afraid to give something a "not recommended" review are telling it like it is. The others are not really seeing the huge problem with these goggles. The field of view and the tiny size of the screens make any of the other features unimportant. Kabab FPV and others, said the same thing. Not honestly flyable in an adequate way. Sure, you can fly with them, but your results won't be as good as with other options.

    Hi Josh, sorry to hear you did not like these. I am waiting for mine to arrive so cant give proper respond to your claim but I think you made mistake trying to compare these goggles with fatshark goggles. You want to compare 100 dollars quality product with 400 dollars one. you just cant do that.
    Also because you are fatshark user now downgraded to these it would be impossible for you to get used to them and fly with them. I am sure these are goggles for beginners. people who are getting into FPV like my self. Good start point not to spend too much just in case I did not like the FPV experience.
    I think your review is not totally fair and maybe should be changed and look at from beginners point of view and then see if you could recommend them or not. Think about it.
    by the way you can insert lenses you just have to mod the goggles. there is video on youtube about this.

    I'm sorry, but antenna diversity is not BS. As long as they make it clear that it's not true diversity with 2 separate rx's, I don't think it's a problem, and I do think it's better than a single CP antenna. Most people testing these have found that the range and coverage of these is actually very commendable, you definitely got a defective unit. The main issue with these is the FOV. People have been taking off the faceplate and find that just getting your eyes a few millimeters closer to the screens makes a pretty big difference. And Albert Kim has a video on adding Fatshark diopters and a DVR. So yeah, far from fatshark killers. But I love that other companies are challenging the huge monopoly that Fatshark has on the goggle industry. If these force Fatshark to make a good set of goggles for around $200 to compete, it will be worth it for these to have been made.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know I got a defective unit. I said that.
      I agree that the FOV is the biggest issue with them. I said that.

      Fatshark has a $200 goggle already. It's the Teleporter. And it's not worth having either. 320x240 screen and 25 degree FOV. Bleah.

      That's a dumb saying which isn't always true. There is no reason a fatshark should cost $400. You can get a ps4 pro, mid range laptop, or a 4k tv for that cost. Fatshark has been ripping people off for years now and someday a company like eachine will expose them.

    Have you seen this analysis of the diversity circuits? Not saying it's better or worse than what you thought it would be, but at least now we know. fishpepper.de/2017/09/22/eachine-ev100-diversity-to-be-or-not-to-be-that-is-the-question/

      I wasn't aware of the specifics, like the 500 ms switching logic, but in general, yeah, I understand how it works. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it's nowhere near as good as proper full diversity. Especially in scenarios where you are on the edge of coverage between the two antennas, or where RSSI is changing rapidly due to environmental conditions. Like I said: I did a head-to-head between a regular Nexwave and the Nexwave antenna diversity, and the diversity module did worse! I'm not saying that will happen in every case, but I'm just not pleased with antenna diversity.

    Ok, here goes some tecnical info about these googles (why are they different from other brands, meaning the diopter adjust and FOV)
    I should'nt be commenting on this and I really thought that by now (with so many reviews) someone would know this, but since what I'm gonna say it's not spoken anywhere, here goes:
    No other brand has (build-in) diopter adjust just because brands like FS, Aom..,etc (including Eachine) don't manufacture EVF (the image module), they purchase them from brands like Kopin, Oriscape, and not many other brands (for OEM consumer market).
    Those modules ussualy use "low cost" optics (an optical array with >45 FOV, and diopter adjust is to expensive for consumer products), so what Eachine did was just what others do (integrate RX electronics with EVF's).
    In fact they went for a very know company (not chinese), that makes products that I believe many of you already had in some point of your life (if your >40 old at least) and created something different (but, yes, the FOV is questionable).
    I can bet with anyone that the tecnology of this EVF is far better then Fatshark EVF's (it's like comparing an one screen LCD projector with a Texas DLP).
    Sorry, but I will not share the brand of this EVF where on this post (I don't want to get in troubble by revealing that), but if someone (more tecnically inclined) wants to know, just PM me.
    That said, don't expect FS with build-in diopter adjust (there are no OEM EVF modules with that available for consumers) at least for now.
    In the end, Eachine could had choosen the 16:9 from the same brand (those have bigger FOV and double the size and resolution) without making any changes to the driving electronics, and that my friends would had been the FS Killer hands down (will they do it ?, don't know, in fact I don't know how they got their hands on those modules, market rules I guess)

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, internal diopter adjust is not a big deal to me because nobody is going to cover my prescription. But I understand it could be great for others.

    Instead off comparing too the FS Doms etc for FOV compare them with the FS Teleporters V5 or something with a similar price and features. Apples to Apples not Apples to Oranges.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not putting them down because they compare badly to Dominators.
      I am putting them down, because, all on their own, independent of any comparison to anything else, the screen is so small that I don't think they are the best choice for most people.
      And then, to give a perspective about how small the screen is, I showed the size of two other goggles. Because most people have no perspective on what a difference there is between 33 degrees FOV and 28 degrees or 24 degrees or whatever.
      I'm not comparing apples to anything. I'm looking at a rotten apple and saying, "I don't want to eat that."

      +Harmen Steerenberg that's what I meant.
      I have a suspicion that most people who are happy with EV 100 don't know how bad they are because they haven't owned better goggles. But ultimately it's your money and your experience so more power to you.

    I wonder how they'll be.

  • @thesquisheee
    @thesquisheee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    You're doing the same as everyone else is regarding these. Yes they're not great and compared to the fstshark dominator whatevers they suck. But you can't compare a £100 fpv goggle to a £300 set. That's like comparing a Nissan Micra to a Mustang. For their price I believe they are perfectly reasonable, and let's not forget the focal adjustment which no other brand has yet...us glasses people finally have goggles we don't need to modify. It's eachines first binocular goggles, I'm sure the first and cheapest fatsharks were crap too. We don't all get sponsored by the big brands and get given free stuff or made it big enough on TH-cam to get all the ad revenues, for some of us this is a hobby that can only be indulged around our working and family lives, and can't be invested in to the crazy money some of these companies want for their hardware. They are a fantastic entry level product for those wishing to get away from the face box. And let's face it, if you can learn to fly great with this piece of crap, think how much better you'll get when you upgrade down the line. (I bout a set of these btw and I and I'm having a great time with them)
    I'm sorry to piss on the parade a bit but I respect you, you're well known and do great things for the focal community but I think this method of judgement is unfair. Compare them to non box goggles of equal price, oh wait...there isn't any.

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am really tired of making this comment.
      I am not comparing them to a $300 set of goggles.
      I believe that the EV100 is fundamentally not worth the asking price of (at the time this video was made) $150. Period. Compared to everything else you could possibly get for $150.
      You can get an EV800D box goggle for around $100. It is infinitely better than the EV100. It's bigger? Sure. It's not a goggle. How much are you willing to give up? Are you willing to sacrifice basically your entire flight experience to a postage-stamp sized screen, in order to have a goggle on your face instead of a box-goggle? Okay then. The EV100 is for you. But there is no way in which I am going to put my reputation behind the goggle and be responsible for the hordes of people complaining that they hate it.

  • @seanmetzger4780
    @seanmetzger4780 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Finally, 2 reviewers that actually know what they're talking about and aren't just trying to shill bangood affiliate links shit on these goggles...idk how people can waste their money on these...I understand the portability of a binocular goggle is awesome, but the image from just about any box goggle will blow away any binocular goggle until you get to hd2-hd3 range of goggles. Stop wasting your money people

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand the appeal of a goggle, and I understand that people are willing to give up some picture quality to get a goggle. But I just think the EV100 is asking you to give up too much.

    i saw few reviews and one MOD video and i think this could be the way to step forward with EV100. You solder 3 wires a you can plug trueD LaForge or another FS module. JB can you try that MOD and say something about it? thanks

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure so then you have paid $150 for goggles plus $50 to $100 for a module, and you still have a tiny 28 degree (actually 24 degree according to RCSchim) screen that you can barely see. For $200 to $250 I would rather buy a Fatshark Transformer. It has an AMAZING screen.

  • @JC-zg2id
    @JC-zg2id 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Eachine vr006? I know it doesn't have 5in screen or 800x400 res but the smaller 3inscreen paired with the 500x something res makes it similar to a 800x400 screen. Also the 3in screen makes it lighter. Maybe try them???

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      3" screen box-goggles I have tried are so small that they don't really fit my face well. They might be right for some but I feel like 5" is a better all-round choice.

    The pictures there are in bad rate to each other. If I calculate with the sinus of the angles (same distance different size) then the rates are 200, 140, 159. So the EV100 is not soo small as on the picture. Or did you make the proportion for the resolution?

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you see is the result of holding the camera right up against the eye piece and taking a picture. I did not resizing of the image at all. RCSchim calculated the FOV from his photos and found that the actual FOV of the goggles is 24 degrees not 28, so maybe that is where the confusion is coming from.

  • @garssa2674
    @garssa2674 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The issues you number are:
    1. Low FOV (but you still having the big mask in stead of changing it to a thin fatshark mask to increase it the FOV)
    2. You can not focus due to your diopter (I suposse now in the description from Banggood its said the maximum diopters you can fly with them)
    3. Antenna diversity in stead of real diversity: for sure you have a default pair of googles, this is the first review I have seen with that bad recepción, I have seen DVR flying with these new googles in which the result is almost comparable with realacc diversity receiver with achilleas firmware (in fatsharks...
    So, for me, the unique thing I got clear from this is that is needed to mod this googles in order to have better FOV (I don't use glasses) and that I need to feed the future DVR from inside the googles in order to feed it with a powerbank via USB port

    • @JoshuaBardwell
      @JoshuaBardwell  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Garssa if you could get the FOV closer to 30 or 33 degrees, these goggles would compete nicely against the Attitude v4.

      ABMNS PRODUCTION I'm not mad about them, but put them up against ones like the teleporter v4 and ones like that... these are ev100 are better then them, I have the teleporter v4 and they are worse then these, the fov is even smaller then the ev100.
      Lobe to see your videos. But and there is always a but in there.
      For ppl that can't pay 350 for a set of goggles these will work fine. And you can put tru D on these.
      And u can move the osd around to see that in them? A least I think you can do that right?
      I know I know, if you can't afford paying 350 for good goggles then u shouldn't be in the hobby as mostly all would say, but in fact it's the millions of small ppl that help the hobby grow, no one remembers where they come from anymore.
      But this is my opinions, and I'm just the guy that likes to go out and fly for fun, bc it gets me away from all my disabilities I have for that brief moment.
