Bae spent her 1 million yen on this project and it definitely shows with the quality of everything
As Bae puts it, they had to get someone to mix this song that had 15 different vocal tracks with 15 different mics and 15 different environments. Might be slightly exaggerated since I would think FuwaMoco should be in the same set up but point still stands what they had to mix.
Mumei has a great voice and I'm glad a lot of people got to see this side too her singing. You rarely hear it outside her unarchive karaoke streams its a real treat.
Mumei took me the most surprise. My god, her vocal for this song is a surprise for me. Top notch.
Mumei, for me is goated from the beginning. She was shy at first, but even then you could notice the monumental talent behind her beautiful voice. All in all, she's in my top3.
Yes, this is such an important thing to consider when thinking about the mix. It's an impressive undertaking.
Everyone, including Bae were surprised by Mumei's sudden deeper voice. Truly a gift and amazing how natural it sounded. As for the "favorite grouping of voices", they have quite a few collab streams called the C.H.A.D (Chaos, Hope and Death) Cast podcast, In case you were wanting to hear more of them.
7:40 you also need to consider everyone has different recording conditions and hardware. Even in the same setup switching mics can affect how someone sounds, so there's bound to be some inconsistencies when trying to mix vocals from so many different recording setups.
You make a very good point! And if that was the case, I'm very happy with the mixer's choice to let the more open tracks remain clear, even if it stands out a bit!
I love Ina's singing voice, honestly, probably one of my favourites among the ones in this collab. I'm very partial to that very soft singing voice she has compared to a lot of the others. If you haven't heard her original song, Violet, before, then I highly recommend it. It's about 2 years old by this point, so she was less experienced as a singer at the point, but it's a great song that's basically just a showcase of why I like her voice so much. Her covers of Nai Nai and of Tabi no Tochuu are also wonderful
I'll have you know that Kiara loves to practice imitating Mococo, so I'm gonna pretend that is the reason why they sound so good together.
I have always thought Mumei was one of the better singers in holo technical wise as soon as I heard her sing 2 years ago. My first impression was that she sounds at ease and isn’t as strained. Mumei most likely has a ‘supported’ range and will improve even further with proper vocal training.
Her lower range in this song reminds me of that perfect Hank Hill impression she did shortly after her debut. She definitely has the control and range, she just had to work a bit on her technique and especially confidence.
Lot of people been surprised by her low voice but she has done it a few times in karaoke. There might be clips. But respect to ame too, she has really improved
I can just imagine the producers saying all in unison... this will not be another Country Road! I believe they succeeded spectacularly.
