They are often made in a way that makes it look like a Barbie doll in a big poofy dress. You make the cake look like a dress and then you place a Barbie dolls upper body on top
I just made this and it tastes amazing! I used homemade strawberry jam instead of raspberry jam and I think it turned out really well but my decorating skills are very minimal so it doesn't look the best. Overall its completely worth all of the work 😁
In grocery stores in Scandinavia are there sold finished marzipan. We often use it to decorate cakes like Americans use sugar/marshmallow fondant. I'm not very fond of marzipan as I think it tastes like alcohol for some reason, but my parents like it ^^

Working as a Swedish Pastry Chef, this made me soooooo happy to watch! It looks beautiful! ♥ There's so many different ways to make Princess cake today and this was one of them. The traditional Princess cake from back in the days has no jam in it andcustard and whipped cream are put separately. This is technically actually called an Opera cake, but it's very common today to just put jam in it, I like it better with jam too! ;) Hope to see more videos like this! ♥

Edit: Though you didn't use marzipan cheese, I totally loved that you used almond flour in the fondant. It's just perfect!!!♡ Edit2: I thought it was fondant because we used egg whites while using marzipan. My mistake! Now, I know it's marzipan without eggs.

Amazing job! 🎂 You are supposed to put the whipped cream in a dome on top of the custard though and then put another piece of cake on top of that before you coat it all I whipped cream and then put the marzipan on, that way I holds up better and you can work with the marzipan for a while to make it super smooth and you don’t have to put it in a freezer 👌🏼

Love it! But we don't usually mix custard and whipping cream as a top layer under the marzipan, just whipping cream. And we don't put it in the freezer even though I guess you could.
