Legend has it the song was almost rejected for being to silly for dwarves, then Karl threw that party no one quite fully recovered from. The pod no longer drops to the bottom of the shaft if you get me.
@@Jarate_gamingDRG (company) propably wouldn't get much from it so i think it could safely be not added, but if it would be something like lost cargo, then maybe it could happen.
@@tez07770 If you can get it timed up just right it matches the steps of standard Gliphids (grunts, slashers, and guards) [at least for haz-3 and lower]
It doesn't sound *super* silly to me, but I can get that parts of it just have that bumpy feel to them. It honestly feels tense to me, but in a good way, like... excitingly intense I guess?
I feel this song perfectly encapsulates DRG. Whenever I hear it, I immediately think of the dwarves shooting bugs on top of the drilldozer yelling “we need to protect Doretta!”
-You think you can kill me? Well think again! -(yawn) I could use a good rest. -GREAT ANCESTORS! Stay back from that thing, it's unstable! -Steve, you're my bestest friend.
This is probably my favorite swarm track, it just really is the most iconic. It enscapsulates both the sillyness and seriousness of the game pretty well! And it's not just we the dwarves that think that... I think this might be the _"canon"_ swarm track considering there's a motif of it baked into the literal caretaker fight during Industrial sabotage! I cant be the only one that heard the jingle when it transitions into the awake phase... So naturally I always pray that this track plays during that fight ^w^
This game's full of cinematic moments, that aren't cutscenes. One mechanic saved 3 of us to this tune, and we ended up completing the mission, and it's burnt into my brain now.
I love it when this song plays during Off-Site Refining, it fits perfectly with having to defend and repair the pipes and the refinery normally backs up the song really well.
This was EXACTLY the kind of music I was expecting when I first started. A "mysterious/mystical" but also "serious and..." uh idk, "rubberbundy?" kind of beat to fit not only the the theme of playing as dwarfs but also to fit the action of having to defend yourself on an unknown planet from a massive swarm with your fellow dwarfs. I am shit at describing my thoughts but I hope this at least makes some sense ._ .
Everyone loves how this lines up with doretta digging up the hearthstone, but I think this theme also goes perfectly with a caretaker fight. This song SCREAMS fighting alien tech!
YES! I always love hearing this start up as the Caretaker activates! It’s silly, which I feel fits with the Caretaker’s goofy spinning, but also frantic, which fits how chaotic the fight can get!
God i love listening to this soundtrack warching the gunner on dorreta blasting away while watching the driller shoot flames at the sky to get rid of grabbers and the scout shooting lights everywhere to let us see
I swear whenever this song plays hoxsys just decides to unleash its full wrath on the team im on Like the only time I got 4 bulks back to back was when this played I have come to feel fear and lock in whenever this goofy ass synth steps starts blaring
I got it the first few times I faced the Caretaker, and it goes really well with the Caretaker's pre fight animations and it's spinning, so to me it's the Caretaker Theme.
you are with your comrades. like any other day at work, when the supervisor warns you and your coworkers about a seemingly endless wave of abominations that emerge from the penetrating darkness. You start to feel adrenaline throughout your body, you know that the only thing you can do is fight or escape. In a matter of seconds you realize you are surrounded by monsters. but this time, there are so many of them, this time... fighting doesn't seem to be an option. You try to escape with your coworkers but you instantly lose sight of them. Now you are lost and the poor light of your flashlight does not allow you to see beyond a few meters, the only thing you can perceive are the screams of horror of your co-workers... they are not alive now... you are... completely abandoned... this is the fate of your life
I have a little out-of-the-blue theory that isnt really backed up by anything: What if Karl was behind the Rival Tech? What if Karl hid is location in one of the data racks found in Caretakers or Prospecor bots, deep in Hoxxes? Its far-fetched, but its still mildly plausible. Assuming the "Rival company" (which wouldnt be real here) has no dwarves working in it, then how would the Nemesis bot, assuming once again that they enter the mines with no knowledge of Dwarf lingo / communications and dont learn from dwarves (since it would die first), how could they know the dwarve's voicelines? Who recorded the lines? Karl. Maybe the Shredder bots were inspired by the shredder swarm grenade, and Karl reprogammed them to attack dwarves? Just food for thought, though.
I always love when this kicks in in an escort mission and the beat lines up with Doretta pounding

They should make a mission type where you just go find evidence that Karl is still on Hoxxes.

@plantplayer303 plus, it's likely that DRG isn't even aware of the existence of Karl, from what I have heard anyway.
