Solo Surfcasting on an Abandoned Island

This time Im heading out to Virginia Eastern shore barrier islands to go surf fishing alone, but Im taking you along. I actually sat & carefully weighed the risks of this trip before I left. Being as Ive done plenty of trips like this & the weather looking favorable it was decided if I was careful I should be good ! So I headed out on my Ocean kayak Prowler 13 hoping for drum or any other big game inshore fish available with a 6 pack of frozen Cobb mullet. My surf rod setups are - Penn Prevail 2 12' Heavy action surf rod coupled with a Diawa Emblem 10000 spooled with 20# Trilene big game mono as my spinning outfit. MY conventional is an Offshore Angler surf rod 12' Heavy action, coupled with a Penn Squall 2 115 spooled with 20# chartreuse mono. I was using 8/0 extra heavy circle hooks, with 2 feet of soft but very strong wire leader attached to my 40# top shot with the sinker slide. early August when I took this trip this year, the bugs were so bad I had to totally cover up, & ended up wishing I didn't leave my face mask at home. The wind died off from when I launched & the bugs were out in FULL force. There's a nice fail if ya watch till then end on my way back, thanks for watching enjoy !
