I was using the Bungee rig some 30+ years ago in my fishing. There is nothing new in carp fishing, it's just reinvented/evolved. See the beach caster rig has suddenly reared its head again and even the shot on the hook.

Brilliant. It performs exactly as I envisaged it would. A fish pulling into weed running from you, of course it will lie flat across the fishes flank with no prongs sticking out, and when the twig “ leads” pulling in front of the fish anything it brushes against will push the arms flat. It would be almost impossible, with the fishes head one side, for both prongs to latch onto a snag at the same time, and when it does so one side only, that eccentric load rotates it so that it pings free. Having been involved in product design myself, everything you display here behaved precisely as I thought it would. Meanwhile every day heavy leads which are not set to drop away hit snags and drop through branches into creases and crevices, locking up and jamming permanently, the real “ death rigs”. Of course the easy advise would have been just don’t use it in heavily weeded or snaggy waters if you have any remaining doubts. To that end the magic wand is a perfect alternative in that situation but giving the same effect. I knew the hanging boily bags, equal weight tight at each elbow, was a ludicrous unrealistic scenario. Ignoring firstly as that “ scientist” did, that things weigh so much lighter under water. One arm would always hit a rigid obstruction before the other, rotate and ping free. I had a designers vision, much rarer I think now than I previously realised, to envisage that would be the reality of how it would behave under water. As for the morality of self hooking rigs, we haven’t struck to set the hook for a long time in carping now, since the hair and the bolt rig, both exclaimed by some as cheating and death rigs at the time, because “unattended rods would be pulled in”. I remember so clearly club water committee Neanderthals trying to get those banned too. The personal abuse for you Ali, the social media “ pile ons” genuinely shocked me at the time. Every brainless carp angler jumped on the bandwagon and even those like me, trying to look at it more objectively, got a tiny fraction of what you must have had in terms of abuse too. Some well known angling names, sponsored anglers, tackle trade men, frankly I will never respect again, not just because they had a different opinion, but because with their “ lynch mob” supporters encouraging them, they didn’t discuss these things privately and directly with you Ali, but chose to castigate and embarrass you in the full glare of carping social media. That for me was both wrong and unforgivable too. I hope now that they think again and hang their heads in shame for the way they over reacted. An apology or two would be nice, but I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting!❤

@@OMCTH-cam Thank you for taking the time to reply. Astonishing that there are still those “ Luddite” jokers quoting the attitudes of the likes of Chilly to product development and invention who clearly don’t even have the attention span to watch the whole video and the Magic Wand at the end of it, which is an utterly brilliant evolution of the idea for me and I cannot wait to buy and try it. These fools are going to look very silly in a few years time, just like those banning hair rigs and bolt rigs on “safety grounds” back in the day, which itself spawned the incredibly successful lead clip idea the very same people use and take for granted now. Bait boats too, the “noise” over their unethical use, that roar of disapproval now more a whisper too. My god my brother has just bought a cheap boat to stick a deeper on for rapid lake mapping. It cost just £70, lights on and off from the handset, lithium battery…oh and a huge 500m range. There’s no stopping invention and product development, no matter how the “ knuckle draggers” try! Lol
@@Henrycf It worked then. It’s a filter for those with a short attention span. I get it, the cheapest way to dis any comment. Whilst yours, even though it’s a few words only, is a completely pointless one to make.
Couldn’t have come across better! You can see how much care went in to this and addressed everything professionally and without hunting for drama. That’s how it should be 👌
Huge success 🤔 Ali must live in a different world to the rest of us, a career in politics beckons, it’s literally banned on every carp lake I’ve checked out in last 12 months
I agree, ive had the same conversation with a few people over the past days... A few saying it has not been banned... Non of which would name the the lakes where it hasnt been!!! The idea is based off a couple of simple rigs that were made with pole elastic to have a spring action... These are very safe and do not cause a risk to the fish if they get snagged... I like Ali but, I think this is definitely a no no!!! Do not let what YOU think is a great idea, bury a great company that you have started... Please accept that fisheries do NOT accept it!!
@@lespaul3717 You need to watch his video until the end. The “ Mark 2” magic wand has no projecting arms to hand your boily bags from, now what are you going to do as an excuse to dis and ban that? Lol

This is a brilliant way of explaining the twig. I cannot fault any of your products, I used the lock hook for the first time a few months back and I’ve never had a hook hold so well, I will always have them in my tackle box. The putty is 100000% better than any other I have used, holds in place like sh*t to a blanket even when casting 35+ wraps. I have personally not been able to use the twig YET due to rules on the lake I fish. I will definitely go to a lake where they allow them and bank some PBs. I really hope fisheries watch this and lift the bans.
Yes, yes ,YES ! IMO this is much better product. I had nothing against the magic twig, but now the people shouldn't have anything bad to say about this, Keep up the good work ali
People see someone who is building a new brand and challenging new ways of fishing. Basically people don't like change, what people forget is how things have changed over the years, spodding to bait boats, walking a lake to Drones. Keep doing what your doing, OMC Ali, you are the brand mate and I love ya. You have been around for years, on TV taking underwater to new levels. Everything you do is for everyone to enjoy our amazing sport. Keep positive mate, look after yourself and your family.
I came away from carp fishing about 4 years ago and remember this setting the internet alight. All the comments I saw slating Ali and The Magic Twig made me sick. Carp anglers put themselves on a pedestal and think they know everything. It’s the reason I wanted to get out of it, I was sick of all the bullsh*t. I thought Ali would pull the product but I’m glad he stuck to what he knows and ignored the haters. Fair play mate, keep coming up with your innovative ideas and transforming angling even if you have to explain everything to keep the idiots happy 👍🏼
@@bomberharris1681 so you HONESTLY think OMC spent another boat load of money on the wand, aka twig mk2, just to please the eyes of the haters? he is a salesman and this was 51minute sales pitch for a NEW product. If the videos prove its safe then why wait so long to respond after most fisheries banned its use? Surly you would want them to lift the ban so you can sell more twigs, so why not respond with this footage when it happened?
People tied the device on backwards Ali because that’s the way a fish would be taking it across the lake, and it snagged! If I can pull the device through weeds and it gets snagged then why couldn’t a carp?
The carp would not be taking it backwards my friend. How could it untie itself and re-tie itself backwards? We know it’s magic, but that’s taking it a bit far. We show you exactly what would happen with a fish trailing. Firstly a fish would be in front of it. The Twig doesn’t have fins and cannot swim…well we don’t think it can? 🙏🏽
@@OMCTH-cam Thank you for the reply! Perhaps I wasn’t clear on the direction of the device in reference to my point. I’d also like to mention that in my experience using the twig, it hasn’t snagged 👍🏼 People would tie on the device with the arms opening towards the angler in the opposite direction the device was designed to be used. And then reeled in to see if the device would catch weeds/snags. When using the device in the correct orientation the arms open away from the angler. If you were to snap off and the fish trailed the device, would the device catch weeds/snags with the arms ‘opening’ facing against the force of the direction the carps swimming towards?
@omcTH-cam in a snap off scenario, the twig would be trailing backwards as the fish swam forwards. You literally showed that in the video. Did you get to watch it the whole way through?
There’s one way to test this product for effectiveness, fish a runs water, two rods on one baited open water spot, with the tackle and hook baits exactly the same, bar the addition of a twig/wand on one rod. Switch the rods over from left to right throughout the day during re casting, record how much time each rig is in the water and fishing, and see which catches the most fish. Be a great video for a neutral TH-camr to make. 👍🏻
Really good upgrade this. People already saying “why a v2 if it’s safe?” presumably still using Motorola handsets and driving a Ford anglia. Credit where it’s due, this is the right step.
@@Ashley-dy7bx there’s enough evidence around demonstrating that an element of elasticity can help trip up really finicky fish and plenty of top anglers who utilise the bungee, Nora or hermit rigs in certain situations. I’ve used Nash triggalink a bit in the past for same effect so the product itself is demonstrably not pointless. The removal of the arms is a very wise move to eliminate the controversy.
@@davidlaunder1873 Was the MK1 Anglia banned by drivers who’d never even seen one? And did Ford get a year of abuse for releasing it? It’s a wise upgrade. Whether or not you think the twig is safe, the wand has eliminated that doubt so whatever angle you come at it from, the upgrade is a wise one.
Finally some real proof that everyone who doubted the magic twig was indeed wrong and just jumping on the bandwagon. Hopefully this will open fishery owners eyes and give the people who actually want to try it a chance to be able to. Keep up the good work Ali 👌🏻
You Ali are worth your weight in gold! To take the shit people have spewed at you, to push through all the hate and then to come out the other side with a smug middle finger 🖕🏼is ace. So know exactly what you went through and how it feels to then turn round and go (as I have) here you go I’ve listened tweaked and changed the product to suit your demands even though the original was fine in its own right. Hats off to you Ali mate ❤❤
I have used the lock hook and the twig before (borrowed from a friend while fishing) and i have used so many different hooks both from korda and fox but nothing can as close in effectiveness as those two so you can be sure that when i have the money im 100% going to buy them and test them some more out, All love to omc and ali hamidi. And dont listen to the hate. Some people just can't see past their own ego and brand, and let other smaller brands come in the light
People are tying it on in reverse because that's the way the fish will be towing it if there is a break off.....thought you would have figured that out as you designed it
I've not actually tried the twig, my mate and I did buy a pack just to look at it, but we were nervous about the arms and the snagging concern. We never slagged it off, but we never used them either. I think the footage of how it reacts in snags would have been helpful if shown earlier and I'm not sure I understand why you didn't show it earlier. In terms of the new version, I would be willing to try that (and probably the older version on a less snaggy venue in the fist instance), and perhaps the bans might come off for this new version.
@@bentrower8890 Just like your “ cheating” self hooking bolt rig and hair. Back in the day I met so many with an identical attitude to yours about those advances when clubs were banning them left right and centre. In fact there’s still a few match orientated clubs where their rules have bolt rigs banned, although now if you ask they can’t really think of why that is except if a carp snaps you off, to them it could end up towing a lead about, forgetting that their little elasticised feeders are way more dangerous if they get snapped off and the feeder cannot slide free.

It still dosent go off when the carp picks it up and bolts. The arms are still engaged, how can you not see that!? Its also still banned on every lake I fish.
To me there’s more to fishing than catching fish… and the idea of using a spring loaded device to hook them is actually repulsive whether it’s safe or not.
If a spring loaded device is repulsive the hair rig itself would be repulsive too. Since that's made to improve the chances to hook a fish, because anglers used to F up to set the hook from paste around the hook. The same goes for shrink tube, kickers and so on and so on since it helps the hook turning and hook fish. Same goes for huge amounts of lead used as a counter balance to let the hook penetrate to hook fish. Maybe you should consider to leave your rods at home, since those are devices to hook fish too.... Just use your eyes and bare hands!
Having played with the twig it confirmed what I thought - it doesn't work. It's mechanically impossible to do what he thinks. Sadly it's easy to pull the wool over carp angler's eyes as they are so desperate to improve their catch rate for no effort. Fair play that it does seem to be less dangerous than many of us thought.

Still a lot of people commenting who have made no attempt to understand the product or the situations where it can be an advantage. I was actually trying to make something that did the same thing before the twig came out, after some time on a low stocked water where I was able to watch fish ejecting my best rigs easily. Ali has not only answered his critics here, but he's listened and developed the product to a point where it should get no objections from anybody taking a reasonable point of view. Some venues will still ban I'm sure, but then again a lot of fisheries have rules that seem intentionally designed to make catching as difficult as possible. I wouldn't fish it everywhere, but in the right situation this is probably the biggest edge in carp fishing since the development of the hair.

Bait boats too, the “noise” over their unethical use, that roar of disapproval now more a whisper too.

I agree, ive had the same conversation with a few people over the past days... A few saying it has not been banned... Non of which would name the the lakes where it hasnt been!!!

@@OMCTH-cam what about in the net?
@@OMCTH-cam Thank you for the reply! Perhaps I wasn’t clear on the direction of the device in reference to my point. I’d also like to mention that in my experience using the twig, it hasn’t snagged 👍🏼
People would tie on the device with the arms opening towards the angler in the opposite direction the device was designed to be used.

Because you're a predator yourself , pipe down Jimmy Saville
I’ve seen just as many plebs fishing for pike as I have carp
@@andrewbutcher9216 take one to know one. Only a pleb would comment negatively like that!
@@chrissmith-wb6st it’s not the quality of angler I’m on about but the attitude.
@@andrewbutcher9216remember we all, most of us go for a lot of the same reasons whatever the quarry😊
I would buy the new one looks a good product was unsure about the first one but watch this made me change my mind
Couldn't you of built something like this into an inline led?
It's very important that you give the carp a chance to always be one step of the anglers. It's getting to the point where the angler is at a level where the carp has no escape. The ethical issue needs to addressed and discussed.
with that logic we shouldn't be fishing at all and all fisheries are bad places run by bad people!!!
Your probably right
Have you ever asked Danny why he’s banned it from embryo pools Ali ????
@@garryweighill6408 good point
@@garryweighill6408 Ali doesn't care about fish, he cares about marketing
@@fishinmalarkey9830 no I think he does care about fish you can’t make a career in angling if you don’t care about the fish
@@garryweighill6408 well why the hell was Ali being serious when someone said they attached 4 twigs together in a row and were using that..
The whole thing is fucked
And Ali is a greedy boy
I hope you realise all that hate over a very good product gave everyone a chance to see your excellent character . You passed the test . People now know they can have faith in what you bring out . Enjoy . You earned it 👍👍
Cant wait to wip my wand out down at my clubwater 😂 top products ali cant wait to try it out 😁
Over the years I’ve read a lot of carp books by all the legends .. each one usually has a story about the hair rig or the introduction of boilies & how much it changed their fishing .. it’ll be interesting to see in the future the legends of carp fishing today telling their own personal stories about the twig/wand & how it changed their fishing .. interesting watch tho !!
I understand alis an entertainer and gets hyped/ carried away but he needs to be alot more humble. Everything omc bring out is "the best". Not a good marketing strategy just telling everyone its the best constantly, weather it is or it isn't its very off putting for me. I've used bits of omc tackle some of its pretty standard, some of its great, some of its naff and massivley overpriced.
Good reply pal, a lot of omc is off the shelf just repackaged
My Local AA slated this and now we have proof that it was never a danger at all. So sorry you had to listen to all the nasty critics Ali, your fish care was never an issue and never will be clearly ❤
He can cry on camera all he wants, I'm still not using one.
Can you tell me everything else you're not going to use please?
We didn’t cry this time mate. 😅
Great Ali, well done on bringing out the new design. Good luck and keep being you mate.
F me the amount of w⚓️’s in these comments, all complaining about a product they don’t want to use 😂
Great video and very informative. I may well give the wand a try and if it coverts as well as you have seen will be very happy. Keep up the great work. I do use several items your company produce as your putty and the lock hook are on nearly every rig I cast out. Good luck in the future and keep pushing boundaries
Been buzzing for this! Your time to sh the doubters! I love it
We hope you enjoy it. Please let us know what you think of the "Magic Wand"? Tight lines, from Team OMC 🙌🏼❤
Ali. You used to be my idol when you was with korda and doing monster carp but now im not feeling the same way you have changed now you have got your own company i dont have an opinion on the twig but i have an opinion on you. I commented asking a simple question about the twig and my concern and your reply was the link where to buy the magic twig. Seriously you have changed as an angler and as a person I’m devastated. I havent tried the twig yet but. I have tried the lock hooks and had a dodgy packet which bent out straight on a 10lb fish and your reply was well thats not my fault come on ali I only asked for support but had a rude reply yes i may only be 14 but i have been fishing for my whole life i have a 38lb pb and was on the most simplest of rigs i feel your over complicating things Hope you can see where im coming from
Yours
Brad
all i want is to make people happy, mmmmm why you so expensive then compared to other brands. This is just another sales tactic for a new product trying to cause a stir like the last one. You gone from fishing for carp to fishing for anglers money. Dont buy any of this at all. And if it so safe and amazing, why bring another so called safer version out, like you live this video will be a mistake, would been better if a non OMC fan boy was not interviewing you.
Wow I really enjoyed this video, I’m so pleased for you Ali and the inventer of this new technology. Ali you came across so genuine, I for one will be purchasing the new Twig, all the best to you my friend.
