I can't believe I have 4 children and have never learned this stuff! You are doing such a service to all women of all ages. I'm going to share your videos with my young adult daughters so they know what the heck is going on in there! You make the information entertaining and easy to understand. thank you so much!
I'm 48, (with all of my parts present for now) and started watching your series as i want to get prepared for menopause, as 50s is approaching... I must say i love the way of presentation and the whole idea of making videos in a specific order. As I'm Greek, all these medical terms are easy, everyday language for me. I am really impressed! Will watch them all and I'm sure that by the end of it I will learn everything. Thank you so much!
I'm 63 and never really knew that I had had a total hysterectomy. Since I still had my ovaries and tubes I always thought it was a partial and none of my doctors ever told me what that meant until you! Thank you. Can't wait for more info from you.
Diane, You're situation is so common. That's why I give the tutorials. This is just the first of so many revelations for you. Please jeep watching the videos. You'll make such a difference in your future.
Oh my God! I am Greek and you are FANTASTIC! You've done such a great job explaining the terminology. You are a treasure for us, women!!! Thank you, Barbie!!!!
Barbie- I am an RN , know my anatomy but I am totally loving your interactive teaching approach- been following along and loving it! Thanks so much for your efforts here!
You are fantastic. I find myself telling all my friends about you. THANK YOU! I am learning so much and realising how misinformed I was. Hope you plan to visit Australia sometime.xx
Oh, good for you. I'm so glad you're telling your friends. As you all learn together, you'll be shocked at what you learn, and you can talk about menopause on the same level. Even more shocking will be your realization of how little most women who aren't watching these videos know.
Melinda, Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know. Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know. I respond to all comments here on TH-cam daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!) And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time.
What I mean is that we were obviously born a teacher (and became a surgeon) and I can tell you not everybody can explain things clearly. That's a gift.
Incredible video, Barbie! I especially loved the laparoscopic picture! I have always wondered how a doctor leaves fallopian tubes, ovaries, and cervix in a partial hysterectomy if those things are attached to the uterus. The only answer must be that they cut the middle section out and leave the top and the cervix. 🤷♀️
Oh, Patty, you are so kind. I love giving you the education you deserve. If you watch all my videos in order, I can assure you that you'll know everything you need to know in order to manage your menopause your way.
Thank you so much Barbie for good information and the way you deliver it to us. I am learning a lot from your videos. can't wait to watch next lessons. Lada.
I absolutely love your personality, your teachings which are so easy to understand, I'm commenting on this video but have seen all previous episodes and am continuing to follow but I stopped here just to let you know how much I appreciate you. Thank you, thank you ❤
Great Video! I'm 50 and had a partial hysterectomie 2 years ago. I'm not in Menopause, but since that time my hormones are not in balance anymore. My Metabolism is down and my mammary grows and ists hard and painful. My Doc says, oh thats surprising, but its not cancer, be lucky! Its not satisfactory. Greetings from Germany
You're making comments that I hear all the time. I am going to help you so much! Be sure to watch video tutorial 8 on surgical procedures (after you've watched the ones that precede it).
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your words and sentiments. And I'm flattered that a guy is commenting. Good for you! You're what I call a real man.
I am learning so much from these videos. I've been using the wrong term for what I had done for almost 20 years. I always say I had a total hysterectomy but that is not correct. I had a complete clean out. Everything was removed and that big ass long name is too long to type LOL
I happened upon this series on a day off work. At 46 Ive noticed my body acting differently, two periods in one month and erratic Ive watched series 1 - 7 back to back, your are an excellent teacher and I so far i now more about my body at 46 than I have ever done and understand what happened to my mother who had a total hysterectomy after the birth of my youngest brother aged 40 but went through peri menopausal for a number of years and became post menopausal around 56 .
Theresa, If you continue to watch these videos, your menopause will be so different from your mother's. It's my goal to make sure you understand everything and can make excellent choices for yourself. I love making these videos and I love knowing that they'll make your menopause so much easier. Welcome aboard.
I really enjoy listening to your tutorials. u are hero, who helps people, u are a person radiating such a positive energy, it is not only a tutorial about menapouse, but it is so inspiring, like a session with the best therapist ever
Well, thank you Elena. I'm passionate about helping women. And I'm passionate about menopause. It's been such a neglected subject for so long, and I'm determined to change that. Women deserve so much more than they've had until now. You can count on me to provide all your menopause education. I'll answer all your questions.
Amazing information. I'm 65 and coming up for a prolapse operation at the end of the year. I hope you'll address this subject in one of your tutorials.
Absolutely! I'll be covering it thoroughly, complete with demonstrations and models. You'll probably be an expert by the time I get to it. I've got a huge syllabus of information to deliver. And it's all laid out in a logical format. Prolapse is a very common problem. Thank you for commenting.
This is incredible. You make it fun to learn. Im going to sit my 26 year old and 20 year old daughters down to watch the last video and this one so they can get to know their reproductive organs at an earlier age than their mother! Bless you.
wow! what a wonderful way to show what happens when we have a surgical procedure. No doctor has ever explained it like you. Thank you so much for this wonderful information. I agreed with the other ladies you do have a nutty way of teaching but it sure gets the point across. Love your informative videos.. thank you again
I want you to laugh and learn at the same time. The key is to understand and also be able to remember the information. I'll be as nutty as I need to be in order to give you the education you deserve.
Am learning SO MUCH!!! Thank you for taking the time to do this! Never knew how much I didn't know! Am 52 and no longer have my uterus and have no idea how to tell if I'm in menopause or not. I'm sure as I continue to watch you will clear it all up for me!! 😊
Without your uterus, you're not going to know exactly when you reach post-menopause. But never fear! It's actually easier that way. If you have any symptoms of menopause (see tutorials 11 and 12), you can go right ahead and take whatever you want to feel better. And the really good news is that, without your uterus, you can take estrogen alone and skip the progesterone. Whether you want to manage your menopause using diet herbs, botanicals, vitamins, minerals, hormonal medications, or non-hormonal medications, you can get started on whatever you prefer. At 52, you are most likely post-menopausal or on its threshhold.
How wonderful! I love knowing that it all makes sense to you now. I'll be giving you other videos on all sorts of things that may pertain to your surgery. For instance, there will be videos on gradual versus sudden menopause (133), premature menopause (134), fibroids (135 - 137), endometriosis (138 - 140). Can you tell I'm pretty anal and organized about all this stuff? I plan these videos 9 months in advance & shoot them 5 months in advance. I leave nothing to chance.
You are like light in the darkness with all of this knowledge. I started to watch the videos from very begining and this is amaizing how you teach about difficult things so easy and with passion. I’m so happy that I found you Mrs. Doctor😊 Thank you!!! Greetings from Poland❤
You are so very welcome, my dear Just keep watching my videos in order, and you will understand everything. And if you ever want me to tailor the t=entire education to YOU, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
That's my goal. If it's easy and fun, you'll remember it and be able to use the information. I want you to be able to use this for the rest of your life.
Dr. Barbie...I never knew all the different ways a hysterectomy is performed! I also recently watched your video on progesterone and after having been to three different doctors to help balance my hormones, I think they are all over prescribing me on progesterone. It seems it has caused me heavy bleeding and frequent periods (I am 55 years old and after I got off progesterone the bleeding stopped!) So, my gynecologist suggested an endometrial ablation or a hysterectomy. He suggested the latter because he said my uterus is dropping. But in the meantime I have gotten off of the progesterone and started on E2/E3 cream another doctor prescribed me and then I'll use the progesterone on the third week. But, you have helped me so much to understand menopause! Your simple and thorough way of explaining things is priceless! Thank you again!
If you watch these videos in order, you'll understand absolutely everything. Don't jump around. Most women have so many misconceptions that it's like they don't know the alphabet before trying to read. I work very hard to make sure I'm systematic in how I teach you. Go to my website (MenopauseTaylor.ME) to discover all sorts of great resources I have for you, including: A two-day seminar, the seminar on DVD (by mid June), my menopause book, articles, consultations, and even a radio show. I really want to meet all your needs ... with NO biases.
I had an Endometrial Ablation in 2011 due to heavy bleeding I'm now 54 and right after this procedure have gained a lot of weight in the stomach that I can't get rid of, I have had night sweats for a while but the hot flashes have just started not to mention the extreme fatigue and depression. I'm waiting for the part for which road to take for hormone replacement because I cannot continue to live this way the rest of my life....
You don't have to live this way for even another day. There are a variety of options available to you. I won't be getting to hot flashes or weight gain for a while in the video tutorials, but if you get my book or print out the outline notes, you can read ahead and get some information before we get to it in the videos. I want you to feel better.
Awesome lesson. I am 49 yrs old and the doctor told me I have a 2nd degree uterine prolapse and It is causing me quite a bit of back pain. She advised me to have my uterus removed. So now at least know if she wants to do a partial or total hysterectomy and what method she wants to use. Thank-you for educating us.
You see? You're becoming empowered. Most likely, you'll need a Total Hysterectomy (removal of your uterus and cervix), possibly through your vagina so that you have no external incisions. You can discuss with her whether or not you'd prefer to remove your ovaries or leave them in place. You make that decision by considering the benefits and risks of keeping your ovaries versus removing them. For instance, the benefit to keeping them is that you might possibly have another year or two of hormone production. The risk of keeping them is that they could become cancerous sometime in the future. So, is it worth keeping them? Your opinion is the only one that matters.
I’m enjoying the tutorials so far. Excellent information. I always thought I knew my body fairly well but I’m definitely learning more specifics. Love the visuals!
I am absolutely loving your videos! I'm 45 and I think in the beginning stage of menopause. I had an endometrial ablation a year ago so no periods but have alot of the other symptoms that menopause brings on. Just really looking forward to watching more of these. Thank you thank you thank you for creating these and teaching us women what we need to know!
I am so glad you are here, getting the menopause education you deserve. All you have to do is watch all my videos in order. If you ever want a shortcut, don't hesitate to schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
You see! Isn't it wonderful to learn the facts. I love making sure you have your information correct. And my goal is to make it fun and easy for you all the while.
I just turned 56 and about 4 years ago my doctor said my labs indicated that I was post menopausal. I had stopped having periods when I was 46 due to a uterine ablation. Back then I thought menopause just meant no more periods and a few hot flashes😂 I started watching videos 80-90 and then realized that I needed to start back at 1 and move forward. Thank you so much for educating us on a topic that is so common but not discussed! I’ve bought your book- it’s arriving today, and I’m planning on scheduling a consultation 🤩
I am learning so much from you Dr. Barbie. Thank-you so much for your wonderful videos.I am busy taking notes.I love your videos and think you are really wonderful for educating us about menopause. You make it so understandable. You are also very entertaining.Thank-you so much Dr.Barbie!
Your props are ADORABLE!!! (and memorable)! p.s. I love you so much for providing this for us. No one knows ANYTHING!!!!! And you're right that it is TIME to do something about it!
Thank you so much for your appreciation. I guarantee that, if you start with video 1 and watch them all in order, you will definitely understand everything. And if you ever need my personal help in tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
I recently learned that I’m post menopausal after insisting my drs check my hormones. I went through cancer treatments & surgery in 2018 at 38. My Oncologist warned me that it would destroy my eggs but no one on my medical team has once mentioned that it could make me post menopausal. Hearing you say that management of menopause is more of a necessity; makes me sad. I’m considering scheduling a consultation with you but am wondering if I might benefit from a functional medicine dr since I also lost a kidney and an adrenal gland. I definitely have a unique and complicated medical history.
You definitely need a consultation with me FIRST, before addressing menopause with any professional. I will school you in how to find the right kind of professional FOR YOU, and also make sure you know all your options.
A 17yr.old girl gave birth to a baby in April,1942 Thereafter she suffered with haemorrhaging for 2 yrs.Eventually she had a vaginal hysterectomy. 6 yrs. later she was treated with oestrgen injections.Do you believe that her ovaries were removed when she had the vaginal hysterectomy?
Thank you so much for this. I've had a few fibroids for years, but they just recently started to become problematic. My twin and I started perimenopause last year (hot flashes, fatigue and periods on and off). I also have IBS (C), and normally my IBS would flare up badly after my periods. However, I noticed from about August that my periods, when they do come, would be extremely heavy, and then what I assumed was usual IBS-related bloating and pain would kick in. However, instead of gradually calming down, the pain and bloating has continued each month, regardless of whether or not my period came. I finally decided to get it checked out (I have stopped going to the Dr for IBS pain as no medication helps). As soon as my OBGYN conducted a pelvic ultrasound, he confirmed that a few of the fibroids have grown, and a large one is now pressing against my uterus! To say I was speechless would be an understatement. He has advised that I have surgery to remove both the uterus and fibroids, but has not yet indicated if it would be partial or total hysterectomy, as I am 52 yo, and not likely to have plans to get pregnant. He sent me to do some blood tests and he also did a biopsy. I was totally uncertain about what to expect, but you have settled my concerns, and I'm actually looking forward to getting some relief☺ I'll be seeing him in a couple days, and thanks to you, I can now ask intelligent questions about my condition.
Ingrid, I am so glad to be of help. You should feel much, much better if you have your uterus removed. And you'll have a choice as to whether or not to have your ovaries removed. Here's how you can decide: Your ovaries are either already out of business or going out of business. That means you have no further use for them. You have the option of keeping them even though they'll just hang around doing nothing. But they will still have the potential for becoming cancerous (ovarian cancer). Your other option is to have them removed. Since they're out of business, removing them won't change anything with regard to your symptoms of menopause. But if you remove them, you decrease your risk of ovarian cancer by 95%. If you choose to take hormone replacement after having your uterus removed, you will only need estrogen. You won't need progesterone. That's a luxury because progesterone is what causes all the yucky symptoms. Taking estrogen by itself is more beneficial and less risky than taking it with progesterone ... but only if you no linger have your uterus. Please pose any other questions you have. I love answering them.
This was amazing and comical at the same time. Every time you named a surgical procedure it was like you talking a different language and it was comical to me not in a disrespectful way but I kept thinking I really don't need to know all those procedure names, LOL. Loved the presentation! You are awesome!
I thinker's best to laugh and learn at the same time. If you watch these videos in order, you'll understand absolutely everything. Go to my website (MenopauseTaylor.ME) to discover all sorts of other goodies I have for you. I love helping you.
This is actually very interesting. I've never had to have any of these surgeries, but still, quite fascinating! Your explanations are clear and concise. Like Vicki said below, I wish you had been my math teacher!
Dawne, Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know. Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. What a great teacher you are. In reading your responses I see that I don't have to take progesterone as I had a total hysterectomy. All I need is the estrogen. I still get hot flashes and bedroom activity is very difficult (lol). Looking forward to learning more to see if there is anything else that will help. Love love your tutorials.
Oh, Karen, I have so many options for you, and can definitely help you. Please watch my videos in order, and you'll understand everything so easily. I make them so that you can understand no matter what your learning style is. Don't jump around in the series. That's a recipe for confusion.
Your teaching method is very interesting and understandable. It makes me think I could have handled medical school. Although, I doubt all the Professors would be as proficient as you. 👩🏻🏫
I know of not a single medical professional who teaches anywhere close to the way I teach. My teaching style is something I made up on my own. Most doctors are terrible teachers for all except other doctors.
I had a total hysterectomy around 46 or 47 . My ovaries were still left and went through full blown menopause. I thought I was going to get a break! I was wrong. I was so disappointed 😞. I guess I fell into that small % that this would happen too. Changed my life. My ovaries said we got disconnected :( Thanks for the videos:)
Hi There Barbie, you are amazing. thank you so much for caring for so many women. It is clear you really want to help us learn and understand about ourselves. I've watched up to video 8 but I cannot find video 9 or higher. I can't wait to really understand what's really going on with me. Thank you again
You can't find videos beyond 8 because they haven't aired yet. If you subscribed, you'll receive an email every Tuesday with the next video. I present one each week. If you want to jump ahead, print out the outline notes or get my book. They tutorials follow the same format in the book, but the tutorials are much more detailed. And, of course, the demonstrations are much more vivid. We'll be covering everything that's in the book and more in the video tutorials.
Thank you so much!! I am learning a lot, I am glad I discover your channel just in time before I go to a doctor! I was so scare when I hear hysterectomy, now I know what does mean! :)
Perfect timing. Be sure to address each part of your female reproductive tract that I taught you: cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. I'm so glad to be of help.
Isn't it wonderful to REALLY understand something? This is the whole purpose of my menopause education. If you watch all my videos in order, there is no way you won't understand everything. And if you ever want my personal help in tailoring all the facts specifically to You, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
This women should have been a teacher. I went through nursing school and I can understand this better than anything I learned in school. However I bet she was a hell of an OBGYN. You would be very lucky id you were a patient of this wonderful intelligent powerful woman
i had a hysterectomy but the only person to fully explain what that is .... is Barbie Taylor i love your tutorials i have just discovered them and i am so happy that you have taken the time to explain everything about menopause in your tutorials Thank you Thank you
And I love knowing that you started with video #1 and are watching them all in order. This is enabling you to see that everything really makes prefect sense ... when enables you to connect dots like crazy. You are an excellent student.
From your stunning presence, to your blatant intelligence... (hmmm, perimenopausal brain fog has me fumbling to recollect what it is I was actually trying to say)... Oh yea! Being lingual in Medical Terminology, I must admit I am exercising patience in respectfully following your instructions and going through your videos in chronological format. As some of this information thus far is well-known for me. Yet you embed morsels where I leave a video ever so slightly brighter than I came in. Admittedly I felt a gush of relief as you concluded this video with angst and a declarative sentiment of what I had been feeling from the get-go. AdditionallyWithexperience
You are an amazing teacher!!! Where do the eggs go each month if you dont have a uterus? What are the reasons for a hysterectomy and stuff? Only cancer?
If you don't have a uterus, you ovulate eggs into your pelvis and they get absorbed. There are dozens of reasons for hysterectomies. Each situation is unique. And not all of the reasons have to do with cancer. There are dozens of cancers, too.
Thank you so much for this compliment. I've discovered that I love teaching as much as I love learning (as a student). I've always been a nerd who loved school.
I have been binge watching your videos and are excited by watching them. I giggled at the stair master story. Just ordered you book and can't wait for it to arrive. Dose your book cover diet for menopause stage? I work out like a crazy person but think my diet still needs more twerking as i see it harder to keep the pounds/fat away. I am curious if you feel high protein is a necessity during menopause. anyways i am rambling, and can't wait of the next video.
Hi Flo. My book covers diet as a management tool for each and every aspect of menopause depending on what you're trying to accomplish. We'll also cover a bunch of stuff about diet in the videos. I'll even show you how to go grocery shopping for various products. Here's the scoop on protein. As we age we lose muscle mass. You build muscle by eating protein. As we age, we also find it harder and harder to work out vigorously. So sometimes we have to compensate by tweaking our diets. I think protein is very important ... lean protein. Your comment about finding it harder to keep your weight under control is partly Mother Nature's fault. At menopause, our metabolism slows down. And most women gain weight in the abdominal area. Ugh! I know. We'll cover all of this in great detail in the video tutorials. Stay tuned.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing your education and knowledge, you ARE such a great instructor, and I'm remembering!!!!!! One point me-zero point menopause :)
I’m learning so much! Years ago I had everything taken out except one ovary. Last year I started having menopause symptoms. My OBGYN had retired so I had to see a new one. The new doctor told me that even though I had an ovary, I had been in menopause for years due to the fact I didn’t have a uterus. Then said since I had been in menopause for so long that I shouldn’t concern my self with it. Ugh!! Thank you for the information. Maybe I will stop feeling so lost.
The information you have gotten is all incorrect. If you want me to tailor everything specifically to YOU so that you understand your situation and know all your options, please schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
Im 37 ... Im watching all your videos ... my poor mother suffered for many year ... test after test .. doctors never gave her the attention or care .. she is dealing with osteoporosis now ... she was never helped or educated ... living in a 3rd world country Costa Rica ... I remembered she was always trying to figure out a treatment or something it was a dead end Thank you Dr I’m paying attention...
You are so smart to be proactive! My dream is for all women to get this education during their 20s or 30s. It would improve the lives of all women everywhere. I applaud you, my dear.
I'm so glad it helped you understand. Keep watching! If you watch my videos in order, starting with the very first one, you will definitely understand everything.
This makes me so happy! And Happy Birthday to you! I just know you're getting high on understanding all this stuff that you deserve to know. Keep watching. And I respond to comments here on TH-cam daily.
Hi there you are fabulous. I love your videos. I'm new here learning your course. I wish I really new all of this stuff before I had my full hysterectomy. All parts. Just over 4 years now.
Every woman who watches my videos in order just wishes she'd had this education sooner. My big dream is for all women to get this education in their 20s and 30s. I always say, "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail."
After much searching, I realized I never received a full report of my surgery, so I have requested my records and will pick them up next week. My doctor simply told me he removed everything: my uterus, cervix, tubes, and ovaries(I was 43 years old) So 5 years later.... after years of floundering for answers I feel like there is "hope" by watching and becoming educated. There is Power in Knowledge!!!. The internet and my doctors have left me so confused (rushing me in and out without addressing my concerns and leaving me feeling powerless ) and 5 years of slapping on a patch that seemingly does nothing and feeling all but lost, I found you!!! My husband is rejoicing with me. I am soaking it all in and I cannot thank you enough. On #11 now.
Well, the confusion will disappear because everything is going to make perfect sense if you watch these videos in order. Just give them your full attention and know that I'll answer your questions before you even ask them. In the future, always get a written copy of your operative reports, all tests, and all labs. Keep them in a secure place in an organized fashion by date. You never know when you'll need to refer to them.
I am staying in order and taking time every day to watch at least three at a time and following along with the worksheets and outline. I tell my husband, " I am going to class"! LOL. I will definitely do better with my health records. In one of the videos you talk about time to be selfish, spending 20 plus years taking care of everyone else.... well that has been me for too long. The last of our 3 sons just went to college and I am 48 its time for me to look after me! :)
Hallelujah! I am so proud of you. It's YOUR TURN. Menopause is a wake-up call to start paying attention to your own needs. You are making the very best investment you could ever make in yourself. I promise. Butter your husband up to giving you the gift of coming to my seminar. You'll get the entire education in just 2 days. I say: "Give me two days of your time, and I'll give you a lifetime." And it's true. It will take years to get the full education from the once-a-week videos. I give the seminar just twice a year. And the earlier you register, the lower the price. The next one is on September 22 & 23. Go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to sign up. I'm very proud of you and wish I could hug you.
The cervix is left fora variety of reasons in different situations. Sometimes, it's because removing it will increase your risks of surgery too much. Sometimes, it's because intercourse will feel more normal if it's left in place. Sometimes, it's because it's the "trend" at the time. (All surgical procedures and techniques undergo trends just like everything else in life.) In any case, it's not uncommon to leave the cervix in place.
@@MenopauseTaylor Do they stitch or cauterize the os closed permanently then? Otherwise there would be a direct opening into your pelvis! And since there are no more ligaments, wouldn't the whole thing just fall down?
Great topic! Thank you!! I had a robotic-assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy and SNLB @39 Surgical menopause is not friendly at all. Thanks to hormone therapy.
I’m a little embarrassed to write this as I am 63 and probably should have educated myself years ago on all things female. I grew up with a Mom who never wanted to discuss anything female with me (she had 7 kids, 4 daughters). Her mom, my grandmother, told me if I kissed a boy I would become pregnant. Total avoidance of the issues surrounding these things. I was horrified when I had my first period as I had no idea of what was happening to me. Of course I learned some things along the way, 😉, but sort of approached my own female issues in the same way. I’m so glad I found you! Just the mere fact that you’re willing to discuss all of this is, for me, is like filling in all the gaps in my life as a post puberty (lol) woman. I have a two year old granddaughter and I want to be there for her when she embarks on womanhood so she knows she can talk to me and I will tell her the truth. I hope I live long enough to have that type of relationship with her. Thank you Dr. Barbie.
You are so very welcome, my dear. This is what happens when you get a REAL education and you realize that everything you thought you knew was entirely incorrect. If you start with Video #1 and watch them all in order, your head will practically spin off your neck.
I've been watching your series all afternoon... so informative, and perfect timing for me. quick question - when you talk about right or left unilateral procedures, is that from the perspective of me or my doctor?
YOU! It's always the left or right of the patient's body. If you had a right oophorectomy, it means you had your right ovary removed. (I know it's confusing because you're watching a video ... and the left of your video screen is on my right if I'm facing you.)
Enjoying your videos immensely. Wanted to tell you that I had radiation treatments for adenocarcinoma of the cervix in 1995 at age 39. My menopause symptoms have been pretty close to none and I don't take any meds for it. Being cold natured I was looking forward to hot flashes but I have 1 or 2 a year and they're mild. Is that unusual??
You are a testament to the fact that we're all different. Other women with your history have a completely different story. The good thing is that there are a variety of options for all of us. Your hot flash frequency isn't unusual, just unexpected under the circumstances IF our ovaries were irradiated. And it might be that your radiation therapy was localized enough that your ovaries still produce some hormones.
So happy you are cc clear! :) These on-going colpos, ECCs and biopsies are a pain for me, but I'm keeping up with everything in hopes mine does not 'turn'. Adeno scares me even more than Squamous. What a blessing for you not to have all the symptoms i hear and read about. Anyway, just wanted to say good on you that you are clear.
Course very interesting. But I haven't printed out your worksheets yet. I loved for your menopause book on Amazon but I seem not to be able to find it there. I'm will check other places.
I just found you and love your educating us. I have some questions I am 57 went through natural menopause 6 months before my 50th birthday. Recently had hysterectomy do to hyperplasia. So has been 5 month I want to make sure to try avoid any nasty aging issues. I have hypothyroidism treating with thyroid np. At the moment that dose needs upping I believe. I am just trying to figure out what direction to go I want to use natural treatments as much as possible. My general medical doctor is retiring this month so need to go elsewhere. My gyn is difficult to see she is too busy. Me being menopause is not her interest now since I had hysterectomy. Never was told anything about hormones to protect heart or other aspects of health I had all clean out with my hysterectomy. As I did not want more surgery in future after having been through infertility and put on Clomid was not risking leaving ovaries as had many bouts of cyst pain on ovaries. I am obese so confused about estrogen replacement.
I can't believe I have 4 children and have never learned this stuff! You are doing such a service to all women of all ages. I'm going to share your videos with my young adult daughters so they know what the heck is going on in there! You make the information entertaining and easy to understand. thank you so much!
You make me so happy! My dream is for all women to get this education when they first become women so that they know what's ahead.
Good morning from South Africa. Thank you for your time, I love your videos @@MenopauseTaylor
@@esthertappan2419 You are so very welcome, my dear. I love being your teacher.
Diane,
You're situation is so common. That's why I give the tutorials. This is just the first of so many revelations for you. Please jeep watching the videos. You'll make such a difference in your future.

What an education!!! Forever grateful! Thank you Doctor!
Oh my God! I am Greek and you are FANTASTIC! You've done such a great job explaining the terminology. You are a treasure for us, women!!! Thank you, Barbie!!!!
I passed the Greek test! I'm so glad this worked for you. And I hope it was fun.
dema jones haha me too!
Barbie- I am an RN , know my anatomy but I am totally loving your interactive teaching approach- been following along and loving it! Thanks so much for your efforts here!
Oh, you're welcome, Robin. And it's an extra special comment coming from a nurse. You know how important it is for our patients to understand us.
I am 54 and this information makes perfect sense. I will definitely encourage my 19-year-old daughter to watch your videos.
Great job!!! I am 53yrs old, I am so glad I came across your videos, I am learning so much. Thank you and your voice of clarity.
Only on episode8 and WHOA! You are blowing my mind! So many puzzle pieces are making my picture clearer. Thank you!
Eureka! You make me sooooo happy. This is what I want for all women. It's the education you deserve.
OMG! I love you! I'm so excited to be the queen of my menopause experience! I already feel so empowered!
Melinda,
Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything.
I have eyes in the back of my head!)
And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time.
Hi Dr. Taylor, On video # 8 and I am planning on watching the whole series in the order that you made them!!!
so glad I've joined your menopause team thanks. You're the best.
What I mean is that we were obviously born a teacher (and became a surgeon) and I can tell you not everybody can explain things clearly. That's a gift.
Thank you. I have fun finding creative ways to explain things.
I wish you would have been the one to teach me my math classes! I probably would have understood how to do it. :)
You make me laugh. Everything should make sense. I'll do whatever it takes to ensure that everything makes perfect sense to you.

I absolutely love your personality, your teachings which are so easy to understand, I'm commenting on this video but have seen all previous episodes and am continuing to follow but I stopped here just to let you know how much I appreciate you. Thank you, thank you ❤
You are so very kind, my dear. I love knowing that you're here, getting the menopause education you deserve. I absolutely love delivering it to you.
You are adorable! Love the service you are providing those who are not educated in Menopause!
Hooray! I've given you information you should have had all along. I am so glad you know the facts now. Thank you for telling me.
Theresa,
If you continue to watch these videos, your menopause will be so different from your mother's. It's my goal to make sure you understand everything and can make excellent choices for yourself. I love making these videos and I love knowing that they'll make your menopause so much easier. Welcome aboard.
Your tutorials are magnificent!!!! Congratulations
What a teacher!
Ahh. I'm not really a teacher. I'm a surgeon. But I've become an author. And I've always, always been a good student.
Menopause Taylor you are teaching us beautifully, so in my eyes, you’re not only a teacher, but a fabulous one at that 💜
I really enjoy listening to your tutorials. u are hero, who helps people, u are a person radiating such a positive energy,

Bless you.
I wish all mothers were like you. My big dream is for ALL women to get this education in their 20s and 30s. That would rally change the world.
It would be nice if doctor's sent you this video before a consultation - such a detailed, clear explanation!
Well, thank you, my dear!
Your passion for imparting knowledge shines through! Thank you!
I'm glad because I truly love giving you this education.
wow! what a wonderful way to show what happens when we have a surgical procedure.
You are awesome! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others.
Wonderful class, I love to be well informed!!! Thank you!
And now you see why everyone else is so confused, don't you! I'm so glad you're getting the benefit of my tutorials.
Wow! You are an excellent teacher! Thank you - I got it!
You make me smile. I'm so glad this works for you.

This was an awesome informational video! It really helped me understand the procedure I had.
How wonderful! I love knowing that it all makes sense to you now. I'll be giving you other videos on all sorts of things that may pertain to your surgery. Can you tell I'm pretty anal and organized about all this stuff? I plan these videos 9 months in advance & shoot them 5 months in advance. I leave nothing to chance.

Thank-you so much. I really have enjoyed your videos and your lovely personality.
It's my pleasure.
I’m enjoying the tutorials so far. Excellent information. I always thought I knew my body fairly well but I’m definitely learning more specifics. Love the visuals!

I'm so glad this helps you.

Ingrid,
I am so glad to be of help. You should feel much, much better if you have your uterus removed. And you'll have a choice as to whether or not to have your ovaries removed. Here's how you can decide:
Your ovaries are either already out of business or going out of business.

And I love knowing that you started with video #1 and are watching them all in order. This is enabling you to see that everything really makes prefect sense ... when enables you to connect dots like crazy. You are an excellent student.
I so enjoy your clearing up misconceptions especially about hysterectomies!
Good! I want you to have accurate knowledge.

Good. That's my goal. I try to use the familiar to teach you the unfamiliar.
Great Barbie! Thanks!!
It's my pleasure.
You should teach in collages your are amazing at teaching
Thank you so much for this compliment. I've discovered that I love teaching as much as I love learning (as a student). I've always been a nerd who loved school.
Excellent explanation. Thank you so much.
You are so very welcome, my dear.
you are amazing.......
lots of love from Canada😘
Thank you for the compliment, Niki.
i'm pre menopausal surgery too! wow how informative. :)
It's always to get an education BEFORE you need it, isn't it!
Stay tuned.
This is so informative and you make it so easy to understand! Blessings, ❤️
Well, that's my goal. And I am so glad it's working for you.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing your education and knowledge, you ARE such a great instructor, and I'm remembering!!!!!! One point me-zero point menopause :)
I loe your scoring system. You are going to win this game, you know. I'm going to make sure of it.
I remembered she was always trying to figure out a treatment or something it was a dead end
Thank you Dr I’m paying attention...
You are so smart to be proactive! My dream is for all women to get this education during their 20s or 30s. It would improve the lives of all women everywhere. I applaud you, my dear.
Amazing explanation 👍🏼. Thank you.
I'm so glad it helped you understand. Keep watching! If you watch my videos in order, starting with the very first one, you will definitely understand everything.
Yes, I have started at the beginning. every episode is amazing, I love your energy. Best gift ever for my 50th birthday next month !!!
I am learning so much. Now off to find my Operation Report!
Yes! You deserve to know and understand exactly what was done. Knowing will help you manage your menopause in the best way FOR YOU.
Very imaginative props!
I love the creativity of these videos. I come up with the goofiest ideas ... but they work.
great tutorial !! your amazing! I had everything removed due to endometriosis with the exception of cervix, so I am curious why leave only the cervix?
The cervix is left fora variety of reasons in different situations. Sometimes, it's because removing it will increase your risks of surgery too much. Sometimes, it's because intercourse will feel more normal if it's left in place. Sometimes, it's because it's the "trend" at the time. (All surgical procedures and techniques undergo trends just like everything else in life.)
In any case, it's not uncommon to leave the cervix in place.
@@MenopauseTaylor Do they stitch or cauterize the os closed permanently then? Otherwise there would be a direct opening into your pelvis! And since there are no more ligaments, wouldn't the whole thing just fall down?
Great topic! Thank you!!
I had a robotic-assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy and SNLB @39
Surgical menopause is not friendly at all. Thanks to hormone therapy.
You are so very welcome, my dear.
Barbie.
You are so welcome, my dear. My dream is for all women to get this education in their 20s.
I just love your videos!!!!
Then I'm doing my job.
Omg, so much information. Has my head spinning. 😂 Thank you for clearing out the miss information. Great lecture.
You are so very welcome, my dear. This is what happens when you get a REAL education and you realize that everything you thought you knew was entirely incorrect. If you start with Video #1 and watch them all in order, your head will practically spin off your neck.
@@MenopauseTaylor yes watching it from the beginning and your so good at picking up where you left off. Having a tremendously amazing time learning
@@MalkaShifra I love knowing that this education is going to enable you to make the rest of your life the best of your life
I've been watching your series all afternoon... so informative, and perfect timing for me. quick question - when you talk about right or left unilateral procedures, is that from the perspective of me or my doctor?
YOU! It's always the left or right of the patient's body. If you had a right oophorectomy, it means you had your right ovary removed. (I know it's confusing because you're watching a video ... and the left of your video screen is on my right if I'm facing you.)
Great - thank you so much.
Good information! I have not had any.
But, now you know what some of your friends (who have actually had these surgeries) don't!
